Honestly, I do believe you left out perhaps the most salient and important detail to 'Brey's yielding in this track. The interview of himself by himself which was a quarter of the track, it's quite similar to 'Brey going on the shop to be interviewed by LeBron to formally conclude his Pusha T beef.
At that point 'Brey waived the White Flag and J Prince requested a parlay for him. I believe the same happened this time someone was potentially seeing their investment eroding.
That interview on wax when his bars didn't hit said it all.
It crazy that he named it Heart part 6 thinking that he did something. Drake did not pass biology at Digrassi the heart has only 5 chambers.😂

Justin man, thank you so much! I've been thinking the EXACT same thing, and I've not heard anyone else say it, though it seems so obvious! Mother I Sober is actually the right song- it's the blueprint he needed! All you have to do is say "You told stories about your family seeing darkness and abusers where they weren't any, now you're doing the same thing. You think you're here to heal generational trauma, but here you are slandering a successful black man because you are feeding off the same toxicity that you think you're crusading against." It would have worked, and maybe he would have even had a point?
So why didn't he? He simplest answers usually the best- he's either not smart enough, not introspective enough, or not artistically literate enough to do it. The fact that he misunderstood the song and thought Kendrick had been abused as a child, and then thought THAT would be the best thing to attack him on... it's a bad miss. If there was somehow a way to throw an airball and have it bounce back and knock your front teeth out, this would be the music version of that.

The Atlanta verse in not like us - that in the context of Kendrick flexing his cultural power with a quintessential West Coast track that he seamlessly executes. There’s an authenticity that contrasts so starkly. Kendrick IS bigger than Drake in the hiphop lane, that core lane, as a cultural figure. I was thinking drake could've taken the "Canadian colonizer running to Atlanta for money" angle and flipped it; talk about how it was southern slaves who fled to Canada for freedom and how that's what he is, an active aide to atl rappers and history repeating like that. Thing is, Drake's ego and narcissism won't allow him the solidarity to pull that off; I think he and his team know that if he tried that angle as a flex it'd backfire horribly. So now it's same old Drizzy; wanna be down with the people but wanna be on top of them at the same time, walking contradiction.

Drake was too short sighted. He played the industry "I'm more successful than you" approach when it should have been exactly what Justin suggested. Boil this whole thing down to Dot being jealous of him in every way. Comfortable upbringing, successful at everything he touches, etc... but Drake was scared of alienating the "poor" black folk. Following DJ Akademiks livestream tells this story masterfully because it’s chronicles lays out the layers of the story and social media is very important because of Kendrick and Drake imaginative use of social Kendrick with the Easter Eggs and mind games and Drake reaction to social media basically influencing his choice of words on wax. Drake was in Kendrick’s world and Kendrick played Drake MASTERFULLY

I think that's an excellent idea, part of being successful on these platforms is being current/immediate.
There are moments on here where you are arguably taking pauses between sentences that are a little lengthy, but I also understand the desire to do these in as few takes as possible and be intentional with your wording, so you're not too bogged down while editing. But, I believe you'll find a balance.
Kendrick won with dope tracks and incredible lyricism. But you gotta give Drake’s ghostwriters credit, they held their own. The HEART part 6 was bad though

I’m being honest I had high hopes when Drake dropped family matters. I was like oooo shit here we go. When I heard that beat I said ok he’s continuing pushups that beat slapped then he started rapping … I said awww hell nah Drake come on bro that’s not how you rap on this beat man. He could have done so much better. Then came the second beat. I damn near turned it off I didn’t like any of that part. I want to make it known it’s not the lyrics it’s the beat and how he is rapping, and you’re not really in a 20 v 1 so there’s no need to diss those people.
