Please make a sequel to your spider-man posing video. The first one helped me a lot.
For anyone who gets stuck in an endless photo shoot, it happens at cons, I found if you give them a countdown and you all stand up as a group you can break it. That was something I/ we learned by the third day of LA comic con.
If you do cosplay spider-man be ready to develop your legs. You will have a blast taking photos all day long. But might not be able to walk for a week after holding poses for 30 min+ at a time for three days.
for sure! I have a pt 2 planned, of "How to advance your spidey poses" just waiting for some nicer weather to make it.
My cosplay rule for new characters has always been I can spend money on 1 high quality item (typically something essential for the character) everything else needs to already be in my closet or have can double as normal clothes or decor, that way if (when) I mess up I still have pieces to reuse
i like that mindset. However no need to restrict yourself. If you do want more expensive items, you can totally get them. And if you can thrift/ kitbash it. Do that! It’s all up to you. No one should be pressured to DIY everhthing or to buy everything :)

there’s beauty in customization
As a networking tip. If you end up going to a conventions group photos are an awesome way to meet new people. I always make a point to set up a group chat so we can all stay in contact, share photos, and touch bases with one another after the con. I’ve even found it useful to see if they are going to any other cons.
I would also say be yourself and don’t be afraid to try new things or make fun of yourself. If you do make a fold of yourself. Think of it this way, you are never going to run into those people again unless you want to.
Take opportunities where you can. While I was on a work trip I noticed a con was going on during my free weekend. So I threw my spider-man outfit in my bag, 30 min before I left, and went to the con. While I will admit I was scared at first being by myself and on the other side of the country , people knew were I was and able to track me for safety, I ended up having a blast and making some good friends and still chat with them.

I made my first cosplay saying it was for halloween, i made one of my favorite characters with a cardboard mask in streetwear instead of a chic costume. I had so much fun making it and will defenitly do more in the future!

funny thing , i was just planning for a bodega cat suit from the miles morales ps4 game . my main layout is to use basic clothing and modify it to look like the game , my materials were a black beanie(for the mask) , a 14 dollar red hoodie from walmart , black fabric paint ( for the logos) , black jeans , my school backpack , and my cousins black and red air jordans ( hes in military school for getting bad grades so i can borrow them... ) , and my sony headphones. my total was 27. 89 . hope this helps inspire creativity for your cosplays ( ;
thats amazing! keeping it cheap and effective! I have mine sourced out and it’s a little pricier, but doing most of the mods and painting myself saves me a lot of money. can’t wait to see yours!

This just gave me the best custom streetwear symbiote idea but, Should I get a suit off amazon of somewhere else for cheap with long lasting materials? Overall thank for being here your my main inspiration for being a spider-man🥰
for a good suit, use a suit vendor like printcostume (code miles15 to save) but if you’re going cheap like i did. Honestly just get a compression shirt and cheap mask. and customize from there!

This year (december) is gonna be my second time at comic con and first time doing a cosplay! My budget rn isn't even $100.. but I am trying to at least save that much. And Hopefully with your videos... i can work out some fun cosplay even tho I am from south asia. Cosplay isn't as big here and there's no thrift store or even amazon doesn't sell anything to help me! Or commission cosplay or used cosplay.. nothing... So I don't know how am I gonna do it but hopefully I can do something. and it could be most positive thing in my life. So thanks for your videos.

Where did you get the mask you always wear in video's?
Hey Miles I have always wanted to cosplay a clone trooper and I'm getting closer every day to getting my own armor. Is there a discord server or something where I can go and get tips? You mentioned the 501st but do you know of any others?
The 501st is an overall branch for all starwars suits like that. So for me, i’m a scout trooper, so my detachment is “Pathfinders”. Mandos are in the “Mando mercs” Rebels and Jedi are in the “Rebel Legion” etc. If you look up “501st approved clone armor” you’ll find the resources you need. The forums are a great place to look too

I plan on making a Spider-Man cosplay pretty soon! Just gotta figure out what to do with my glasses since I really don't like using contacts
with that youd either get contacts, or just go blind under the mask lol. Some people talk about getting a pair of their prescription lenses into their spider lenses. but ive never seen more of that
I might just try to make spiderman lenses with my old glasses, thanks for the idea! They're old, so I won't be able to see everything clearly, but it's better than going blind

What would you recommend when it comes to gloves? Removable or Zipper?
depends on preference. I have a suit with both. I personally like the wrist zippers for concealment, but I also really like the gloves bc they dont break as fast.

Hey miles can i use normal ps4 lenses from etsy for the printcostume shell?
No. Shells and lenses go hand in hand. They are designed specifically to go together. Every shell i own, has a set of its own lenses. The printcostume shell, is only designed for those lenses. However you should be able to get a full shell w lenses from etsy :)
Do you know by chance if I order just lenses on Esty will they work for the face shield that came with print
odds are no they won’t. lenses are styled and designed to fit a certain shell. If it’s not built to go together, it won’t naturally go together. Best to buy the shell and lenses as a set, which most places offer anyway

@@Jackie-jz6ze hmm.. well i would expect the face shell to come with lenses as a pair. If anything just find another vendor who sells them. Printcostume only has the basic shell anyway.

The holes of my faceshell show through my mask. Anybody got an idea to try and fix that? 😅
could be a number of things. My gwen friend had that issue with an old shell. It could be the size/depth/ or spacing of the holes on the shell. Mine are all very small, the larger they are, the more light can get through and they show. It could be the thickness or color of the fabric on the mask you have. If the mask is too thin, or small it may stretch too far and show the holes. or if your suit is lighter, like gwen, future foundation or anti venom. it has a higher chance of showing
It is a future foundation, they really only show up in the light but otherwise they are fine. Maybe I could put a fabric over them first? Double it up so they don’t show as much? Or do you have any recommendations for shells?
Are there any good discord servers for spider-man cosplayers ?
