I definitely agree. As a Commercial Driver, I run a V1 Gen 2 with a Samsung 10” 4G tablet running JBV1 (the cellular radio is needed for accurate gps). With all the customization, auto lockouts, crowd sourced alerts, and aircraft notifications, it is absolutely the best setup you can get for long drives. I love it. But when I switch to my personal vehicle and run v1 driver on my iPhone, it’s not as feature rich and I have to run Waze in the background for the crowd sourced alerts for long drives. A little more of a pain but I still love it though and won’t run anything else.
I'm still rocking my R3 and I'm still undefeated with it on getting a ticket. It has saved me numerous times. I'll wait for a holiday sale to upgrade for the R7
I like the fact that the R7 Announces the Band, frequency and the direction of the Arrows. I can't always look at the display where I have my detector located, so for me that is a handy feature to have. Plus I run it in display off mode quite a bit at night, which again makes that feature a must for me. As for the software updates, I never had an issue updating it. It's been very easy to do if you just follow directions.
I like the build quality and the BSM filtering of the Redline 360C. This most recent update even made it quieter. Range has been great and the arrows more accurate. Sure it’s a little more, but a quieter ride for me is worth it.
i own redline 360c for about 3 months now, took it across the country trip a month ago and it did not let me down once, super easy to use, especially if you're not very techy. Works very well, plug and play, tells you everything you need to know, and most importantly, I could drive fast without too much worry of getting a speeding ticket.
As someone who used Escort detectors for decades, and having switched to the V1G2, they couldn't pay me to switch back. Considering the price differential, it's borderline insanity to buy the Escort.
Given the Virginia/RDD situation, I am very happy with my V1G2 situation. JBV1 is amazing. With JBV1, the crowd sourced info has helped several times. I have received advanced warning on std radar and lidar. Overall have found a great mounting situation and general love for the V1G2. Thanks for all of your help Vortex Radar.
Yeeeeep..... need RDD immunity and blackout mode for night driving in VA. Getting blasted with radar in the dark to see if the inside of the car lights up.....crafty!
I bought a redline 360c 2-3 months ago and I am happy but I get a ton of false alerts! On the highway, pretty much every Chinese car with blind spot gave me a warning. Also in busy cities, you get tons of false warnings. Since I cover the state driving my car I knew beforehand I would get a lot of those but sometimes it gets quit annoying. I really hope the new update 1.9 helps filter out these alerts. Range when police rader is on is amazing. There was a cop hidden at night in the dark and got an alert 1 - 1.2 miles out.
Vortex asked if we agree towards the end of the video. For me, resounding yes. My V1G2 is my road warrior choice (with JBV1 app too). R7 works well and is simple to use, good display. However BSM and other items he mentions are annoying. For casual driving where moonshot range is not required, Max 360c makes a great daily driver. Quiet, good build, mag mount. I have been observing the forums and here regarding the growth of the RL360C. Looks like it is time to move to RL360C as a replacement. The extra few bucks, over time, is less than buying coffee. The benefits every day are worth the cost.
I just bought a Redline 360c on backorder and your videos convinced me that it's worth is especially since where I live with taxes, speeding tickets are supposed to run about 250-600 and with insurance hikes, to me it makes no sense to not have the most effective unit, and I'm glad you continually update all your information
I’ve had the redline 360c for a couple of months now and I love it. Jus like Vortex says… I jus start my car and go the radar takes care of it’s self 👍
Personally I use the Uniden R7 for both my car and my wife's simply because it is simple. But I have always been tempted to put in the V1G2 - but my wife wouldn't know what to do with it when she uses my car. Oh well, R7 is the best tool for both
I have the 360c and the R7. Coming from a myriad of Escort radar detectors, I have become very comfortable with th R7. I like the screen and alerts better. The built feels cheap and the 360c is built like a tank, but since I don’t mind doing the updates in my computer, the R7 is my daily driver.
R7 is worth every penny, larger display, noticeably stronger signal than r3, arrows, dual sensors. I do own a r3 and it works good but the R7 is king in my book!
@@dennisray6093 Dead on. I've had both. Loved them both. The display is not only better than the R3, and it is supposed to be, it is laid out better than the other 2 high end detectors presented in this video. R7 is all "Driving Business" compared to the others. Arrows are the most visible/eye catching of any detector. In other words, it is sold with the intent that its primary function is looking for radar vehicles and it excels. For the owners and believers in the other Brands, They are all great detectors now, thanks to Uniden. I would own either of these as a radar detector that gives me confidence. The R7 just seems to do it better. Uniden caused the other manufacturers to get off their rear ends in the sensitivity to signals that radar detectors should have. A very difficult accomplishment is a detector as sensitive as all these detectors are now and not stay in False Alert all the time. They all do that well.
@@kx5e Still use my original Redline and zero tickets so the increased distance of the R7 isnt really that big a deal. for me, its filtering. i dont want to have to slam on the breaks everytime the detector goes off only to realize its a false alarm. ill give up a 100 feet of detection, which at 75 mph is less than one second of advanced warning for a quieter detector. and it now appears that the 360c is the leader in both long distance and filtering. Is it worth an extra $250? I guess it depends on what your level of spend acceptance is. one thing i'm pretty certain about is that Theia wont be worth the $1000 to $1100 they will charge for the detector for its minimum improvements.
I agree I love the plug and play aspect and my 2 R7’s are pretty much like that. My only issue with them is software updates is annoying and when using a blend mount it’s so hard to take off my detectors. Other then that I’m super happy with the R7
I am extremely pleased with my R3 from a performance standpoint. I use it when I travel - not in the city - and it never lets me down. It lacks some features but detects radar very well. Maybe an upgraded R7 would be worth me looking at if it had Bluetooth and WiFi and a relocated mute button. And they REALLY need to make the updating process easier. What a pain. As for the V1… if I have to use my phone with an app for it to be at its best, I don’t want it. I want to hang it on the mount, run the setup once, and be done with it. The RL360 would probably be the best choice, but the price takes it out of the game for me.
I agree with your thoughts. As you have said many times, there is no one perfect radar detector that fits everyone. For me the redline is just not worth the massive price tag. I rather the R7 or the V1G2. I also like the control that the V1G2 provides when used with the app.
I own and run 2 RL360c (1 at a time) along side JBV1 or Highway Radar and could not be happier. With both the detector and the stand alone app set up correctly and online, these are very hard combo's to beat. The 1.9 FW update, July/21 worked wonders for my detectors and I have no complaint at all about their operation. Money well spent, no regrets at all
The Cobra Dual Pro 360 on sale is my choice. Arrows and good range with autolock outs. Blend mounted so no issues with seeing the arrows or glare. Even when on my other car no issues and well cheaper.
I have bought 3 Escorts & ALL of them have let down. So, I am very apprehensive about their products. Not that I don't believe your test. I wouldn't subscribe to your channel if I didn't take your word for anything. So, far I had the R3 & upgraded to the R7 & BOTH have saved my ass at least 50x over the past 3 yrs. With Escort, I got 3 tickets in 2 yrs, because of I/O & the R that seems to be a continued weakness with the brand. So, I'll stick with the R7 (maybe) they'll upgrade to a model with Bluetooth tech soon. Thx for the insight as always Cheers!
I feel the same way about the v1 - if it had built in lockouts it would be my go to detector 100% of the time. I don’t want to fuss with my phone I just want to start my car and go.
I've been into radar detectors since I was pretty young and I'm a lot older than you and I can tell you the most important thing to a radar detector is it's reputation for an alert. I need a detector that if it alerts it's a genuine alert. Some of them are just ridiculous.
100% agree with this video. The R7 indeed gets you 90% there so why pay 50% more? And you nailed it....to get the better experience you get what you pay for. In the case of detectors, it will be the 10% of enthusiasts out there. As much as Escort has been lackluster the past few years with software issues and such, they seem to be getting back on track with not only the Redline 360C but also the Max3 which I believe to be a better detector than the Uniden R3 for many of the same reasons you described in this video. Nice job V.
I wanted to get the r360c when it was first announced, but I waited for your first review which I think shocked a lot of people, so I ended up getting an R7 on Father’s Day for 399 at Best Buy. I’ve never been so happy about a radar detector, but it kicks butt. Now that I have auto lockouts which is working flawlessly for me, long long long range radar detection, and rear detection, I wouldn’t want to go to the r360c. I do like the software and phone pairing with the r360c, but I like many people don’t want to get into their vehicles and need to call to space command before taking off. Simplicity is more often king, and I think the R7 nails it. The V1G2 is nice to, but becomes very weak without a cell phone. Again, I like just running my radar, but my likes aren’t what everyone else likes and that’s just fine. As long as we all run radar detectors and they work as everyone wants them to, then that’s all that matters.
LOVE my R7..Wint lie..Is a SUPER pain in the butt to update...Makes me really consider the Redline...Can't tell you enuff how I appreciate your NO BS reviews and you DONT hate on other manufacturers..Just valid points...And I can't billieve THIS channel hasnt hit 100k subs yet...NEVER CHANGE Sir!!!
I'm currently use R7 converted from years of escort usage prior detector was max 360. The r7 at first was a little annoying because couldn't change settings from phone lol. Now I've had it for a year I love the r7 and that really changed after last update for bsm now the detector is quiet unless it's a cop or in a new area and learning a false k.
As an owner of R7 and V1G2 I can't decide if you should lashed or stoned for preferring the R360c. Wait, you're in Seattle, so stoned is the call. All three are great RDs and I find myself in complete agreement with your specific points about each. All three also continue to be improved via updates.
I noticed in your video at 1:16, you passed a hidden police car on the right side. I wonder if it was an active car with radar or just parked. You were testing the Redline at the time and it did not alert. Did you see it?
I've had the Redline 360c for a couple of months and I'm very happy with it. What finally sold me on the Redline was the trade-in offer from Escort. Also, the latest 1.9 update was very easy to install and helped eliminate some false positives on the Ka bands.
I picked up one (360 c) when it was originally released got frustrated with it and sent it back. I'm seriously considering ordering it again now that the bugs have been addressed.
I swear to God I almost sent mine back when I first got it as well. You definitely need to buy it again it is hands-down the best and I own all three of them
I bought my R7 for 384 bucks... I just can't see spending another $365 bucks.... I like the red line 360 I think I would enjoy it but it's just so expensive....you can't get one if you go to try to buy one from escort. on eBay they're going for $850 which is totally nuts... But anyway great video as usual I'm going to stick with my r7. hopefully the updates will keep making it better... Also I have never had any issues updating the R7. I know a lot of people have so escort definitely does that easier... I love the R7 and for under 400 bucks I think I got a really great deal. And thanks again for another great video! I know you are starting to get a little burnt out.....
Still waiting for theia. But I’m thinking that’s a lost cause. The fact that Radenso doesn’t even try to provide any updates now makes me wonder. I’d probably go with the Redline if I made a decision.
Did he just say the 360c has longer range than the R7? When did that change? I looked at tons of tests and never saw that. I guess there is something I missed....
Spoiler alert, they're all top notch, really comes down to personal preference on display, layout, etc. - However, I recently purchased a Uniden R3 and it is definitely rock solid for the money, zero issues, high value and performance... \m/
Just a quick question Ariel, if you were a android user for your primary phone, would it change your opinion of the V1? With JBV1 auto connectivity and a phone with me all the time; you just jump in the car and go. I understand that you are a iOS user so JVB1 is problematic for you. Congratulations on the new baby 👍
I own all 3. I totally agree! Redline is definitely the best! My favorite, the ease of updating it via WIFI from my phone. Also love the presentation and build quality. Next best V1, excellent presentation and its quiet. Last is the R7, still excellent though, build quality seems cheap, good presentation too though.. Just my opinion. Thanks to you, I bought all 3 😂
Owned a older Redline, leaving it on the dash on a hot summer day caused it to go bad. Own a Valentine G1, upgrades are costly. Bought the R7, and never looked back. I drive an SUV, not some Ferrari that can go Mach 1. So the R7 offers the range I want for the price I'm willing to pay.
I’ve had Uniden R7 for couple of years now and I love it. Just like Vortex says… I just start my car and go the radar takes care of it’s self ;-) . V1G2 and 360C went to Ebay.
I love my 360c, but I doubt it is worth $750 CONSIDERING the amount of instant on and low number of traffic patrols where I live. Consider your commute and what you see. Using Waze is a must. Most annoying thing to me about 360c is the cloud sharing alerts, they are mostly annoying / irrelevant alerts. I hate false alerts, 1.9 is an improvement. Plug and play is a must for me… price for me was warranted.
I just got 1.9 update. Is it better than V1 or R7? I'd say different and equal to. Well built, solid performance and user friendly with app. Better is subjective. It's good, but it's no Stir-O, a simply pure RD.
Great overall assessment, as usual. I'm currently running the Redline 360C in one car and R7 in the other. I love the Redline. Fun to drive with. Wifi updates great. Auto lockouts work well. Just tell me why no detector allows Ka blocking for Ka speed signs which are in Mass!
I like my Redline 360c. I like that it's more plug-and-play. But, the complete failure of the WiFi feature will always have me disappointed in the unit (and it's not even a mission-critical feature). It never connects, either spinning indefinitely or just erroring out (I park next to the house to use the 2.4 GHz from my wireless router). It's a shame, but that complete failure of usability spoils the product. :(
I previously owned the R3, excellent in its own right, then got the R7 at a steal of $360. While I agree that the Plug-and-Play of the 360c is nice, there’s no way I can justify paying double. I would note that the mute button on the Uniden’s smart cord makes up for the placement on the detector. My only mild gripe is having to reset the detector to default and set it up from scratch after firmware updates. I wish I could do that via a Windows app when plugged in, so I could set it all at once and be done. Sold my R3 to a buddy with a Tesla3 and it already saved his bacon twice. But the auto-lockouts, improved anti-falsing (after recent firmware updates), and the arrows make the R7 exactly what you say. Nearly as good for a lot less; and Uniden updates their firmware more often, too.
And that's why I purchased a 10.4" Samsung A7 Tablet as a dedicated in car threat display for my V1. Plug and play. Talk about visual, ya, it's bright, visual, and incredibly easy to use. I leave it on a 4 mile range. The extra $130 for the Samsung A7 is still cheaper than the 360c. JBV1 and the A7 are unbeatable.
Congratulations... really enjoy your videos. What's the GPS model you have in this video?.. I am looking for one for my 2005 BMW . Thanks. By the way I was one of the lucky ones that bought the Escort Redline three days ago.
Wonder if you would consider to do a comparison of the support offered by the 3 top manufacturers. My friends and I are quite frustrated .Great review thanks for your work!!!
Yeah that's definitely an important comparison to do too. What's the best way to do that though? Maybe poll people to try and get a ton of data points to get a sense of the big picture perhaps?
Do you still feel the Redline is the best detector after your reaction speed test where the R7 gets .33 second response vs near 1 second response from.both Redline and V1G2??
When I say something is “the best,” that’s a very generic statement designed to appeal as broadly as possible while looking at all the features and performance characteristics, not just one or two attributes. Every detector has strength and weaknesses and honestly I’d rather people decide which features are most important to them, find the detector that best meets those needs, and otherwise ignore any (admittedly oversimplified) claims of something being “the best.”
Am I correct that if you run Waze, you won't be able to also run the 3rd party apps for the V1 at the same time? If that is true, it really knocks the Valentine out of the comparison as I really like running my R7 with Waze on my phone.
Does having a delay of a second to pick up instant on ka band mean that if a cop is quickly on and off his instant on radar this detector won't pick it up???
The situation you describe is a possibility. If you are in light to moderate traffic with an officer using instant on and he's at a fringe range headed your way, the Uniden could alert where the Escort stays silent because it misses the Short Burst. Likely a rare occurrence but very much could happen.
@@kx5e Wouldn't it depend on how quickly you can hit the brake pedal? Since it takes at least 1/4 to 1/2 second to react to anything and then another second to hit the pedal and slow down, wouldn't the cop have registered your speed by then?
@@rfunk727 He won't if you're not the vehicle being targeted which is what I described. No doubt if it's just you and the cop running radar and you and him/her are the ONLY 2 vehicles on the road between you and him you're a sitting duck and it's been that way since around 1980 when Instant On radar started being their primary units. At any rate, I'd rather have a detector with .3 reaction time than 1.3 seconds any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Good question.
Totally agree Escort RedLine 360C also own the 9500ix, Max, Max 360C and had V1 that I sold. Only issue I'm having on RedLine 360C is I'm getting a K band signal blocked from store automatic doors only to find that its also a frequency shared by my local town police. Is there a way to keep that specific frequency unlocked. Keep up the good work.
I had a V1 Gen 1 (w/all updates) for over 20 years. Was gonna trade in for Gen 2 until the pandemic put the kabosh on that ever happening. So started researching alternatives, watched all your reviews, and decided on… the Escort Redline 360c! Why? I, too, wanted as close to plug-n-play as I could get; V1 Gen 2 requires too many moving parts. And so far? Loving my Escort for same reasons you discussed.
Good video. I have a Uniden R7. One thing that has always interested me is that the R7 shows the frequency as a number. I try to remember what one number means vs. another number. I figure that a "better" detector would be more iPhone like, or consumer oriented, meaning this: I don't give a $#!+ what the detected frequency number is - I wan't to know what it is likely to be. Probably too much to ask for I know, but since you talked about the Redline 360c being the "easy to use" detector, why can't we have one that gives a bit more relevant/nuance info? Thanks for doing these videos. There are only a few people that do these and you're in the top tier. Keep it up.
I'm still happy with my Uniden R3. Other than the arrow display and a slightly better range. I don't see the need for me to upgrade to the R7. But if my R3 craps out on me, I will get the R7.
I do wish the R7 had the speed limit notation at times. I wonder if that could be done with a software update, even if it just alternated between "actual speed" and "speed limit" ? I still get a lot of blind spot alerts but I use the remote mute button to take care of those. I'm actually thinking about turning off X and K band altogether, I don't think those are used in my area anymore anyway. The R7 is a keeper for me !
Great video!! You mentioned several 3rd party apps for IOS…..will you please provide a list of those listed in your fav/priority order? Much appreciated!! 😃💪
For V1, V1Driver while driving and V1connection for initial programming. For the Redline 360c, Escort Live (which will eventually become Drive Smarter, but that doesn’t support the RL yet.)
Can either the R7 or Redline give an audio alert over the stereo for those times when when of those songs you just have to turn up is playing? If not, are there any that can do that? Primary use will be in a C8 Corvette
Escort pricing is way too much. The Redline should be about $550, having few features over the R7 and V1. I still run my Escort and R3 in my SUV and i have the r7($358 off amazon a few months ago) in my daily commuter. I think if and when Theia comes out , it may be cheaper than the redline to get sales but may be equal on performance. I don’t think it would be wise to spend ($800) on the redline.
I was thinking R7 isn't very RDD immune. I'm currently looking to buy a detector but live in a banned market. I had been trying to decide only between V1G2 and Escort RL 360C. Is there an update making R7s more RDD immune or what's the deal with that? Thanks for all the info!!
Bought mine when they came out years ago. Saved me plenty. It just yesterday started intermittently not making sound. So now I'm in the market for a new one.
Im a truck driver and I'm thinking on buying radar detector,Does this redline 360c radar detects Laser please help because I'm about to order one but not sure if it's worth the price if it doesn't detects Laser
I'm curious why the Redenso Pro M isn't in this lineup? Now I'm wondering how the RL360C matches against the Redenso Pro M for everyday plug and play driving. I really enjoyed this video. I've been trying to select a new detector for weeks now. Your style of wanting a plug and play detector is exactly what I want as well and this video helped clear that up for me.
Apps are great, it’s a cool feature for Road trips or something, but like you said it’s not at all plug and play. Who wants to do a pre-fight check before a drive. Edit: lol we have identical thoughts here it seems
Redline 360c int. with latest update 1.3 didn't detect kordon M2. Last day it detect it just in-front of the camera for a half of second. But there was no time for reaction. Shame for escort who cost 900 euro. If escort didn't make update to solve this problem I'll throw it away.
@@VortexRadar but as far as which radar you’d use, still the 360c for the same reasons yea? Nothing about laser changes that logic? Sorry if you answered already just clarifying
@@VortexRadar I don't understand the reconciliation of saving 50% on a R7/V1G1 vs RL360C yet always promoting ALP over TMG. Maybe that has been covered before? I purchased a V1/G1 due to form factor and TMG due to combined integration w/ JBV1. No issues...
@@psquared8599 Better hardware, better jamming, better updates, better reliability (my TMG's are dead right now), and laser jammers being much more difficult to change when you need to upgrade, especially considering the install costs and needing to run new cables. The JBV1 integration is nice, for sure, but I still consider the ALP to be significantly better than the TMG. There's a couple people who've gotten tickets recently with TMG's and now are having to swap out systems altogether to get the protection they need.
I had the V1G2 ordered and that was going to be my choice but the problems with K band (not sure they are still a thing) I decided to go with the R7 that is tried and true on K band since its heavily used around where I am. As far as 360C, just like you said, not worth the extra $250 for me, I am sure its great but I took those $250 and got a Cellink battery for my dashcam.

Well, if you live in VA and NEED 100% stealth? One of the others might.. not give you as high of protection.

I just ordered one today. Did yours ever come in?
I’ve had the redline 360c for a couple of months now and I love it. Jus like Vortex says… I jus start my car and go the radar takes care of it’s self 👍
I guess the most important feature in a detector for me is the false alerts, especially in the city!
Knowing the R3 is only "slightly" less range as R7...I'm still on the best bargain for value :)
My R3 has been amazing for 3 years now
R7 is worth every penny, larger display, noticeably stronger signal than r3, arrows, dual sensors. I do own a r3 and it works good but the R7 is king in my book!
Just bought my r3 a couple weeks ago and I couldn’t be happier.
Thumb and middle finger to pinch the detector down, then index to push the release button. Makes it a lot easier to remove with the opposite hand.
R7 up high, JBV1 in standalone mode on the phone, and waze up on Android auto on the vehicle screen. Very good situational awareness.
Great detailed and helpful opinion, thanks !!
@@Imstillyoshi no problem! Glad it helps!
I’m a plug and play guy, I went with the Redline 360, I’m happy.
Wow good eye! I never noticed that. That clip is from a normal drive, not from testing.
You definitely need to buy it again it is hands-down the best and I own all three of them
With all the bugs worked out I picked up a ka almost 6 miles away the other day. 360 is monster 👹
I have trouble updating my R7… sucks
Still waiting for theia. But I’m thinking that’s a lost cause. The fact that Radenso doesn’t even try to provide any updates now makes me wonder. I’d probably go with the Redline if I made a decision.
Here’s an update from earlier this morning: www.rdforum.org/threads/112751/post-1629814
Did he just say the 360c has longer range than the R7? When did that change? I looked at tons of tests and never saw that. I guess there is something I missed....
That might be a mistake, pretty sure nobody is even close to the range of the unidens
No he Said the range of the R7 was better but filtering was better on the 360c
@vortexradar your comment has disappeared? Whats up with that?
The poor I/O reactivity of the R360C is a deal breaker for me, especially since this method is so popular in NC. Rocking the R7 and love it.
V2 for road trips, DP360 and R3 for trips to wally world 🌎 and doctors visits.
What sunglasses are those? Nice! Let me know please.
I ordered the uniden R8 recently and just waiting. I know this is an older video.
Thanks to you, I bought all 3 😂
lol… thanks for sharing you take on all 3 too!
Redline 360, R7, then V1G2. From someone who's tried all three. Ultimately, it's user preference. They all have their pros and cons.
For Los Angeles which of the three do you recommend?
Owned a older Redline, leaving it on the dash on a hot summer day caused it to go bad. Own a Valentine G1, upgrades are costly.
Bought the R7, and never looked back. I drive an SUV, not some Ferrari that can go Mach 1. So the R7 offers the range I want for the price I'm willing to pay.
What’s the best unit for stealth?
I’ve had Uniden R7 for couple of years now and I love it. Just like Vortex says… I just start my car and go the radar takes care of it’s self ;-) . V1G2 and 360C went to Ebay.
I really like the plug and play of the RL360c along with Waze and updates over WiFi. Hasn't failed me...
What is the best range detector on the market?
Which is the best at pop up speed and accuracy, while at least as good as being quiet for RDD?
I like your glasses where did you bought from I want one of like yours.
I'm just waiting for Uniden R7 Version2 w/ wifi and bluetooth.
Getting so many MRCD alerts in Texas...is it even worth keeping on?
Am I correct that if you run Waze, you won't be able to also run the 3rd party apps for the V1 at the same time? If that is true, it really knocks the Valentine out of the comparison as I really like running my R7 with Waze on my phone.
JBV1 runs in the background just fine. You can even launch Waze from JBV1.
@@robertshunter Thanks RS Hunter
You can run them both as a split screen on Android. See my old and poorly made video here: ruclips.net/video/SytNYGYADz8/видео.html&feature=share
You missed which one had the least false alarms.
How does these compare with the installed detectors? I have the Netradar DSP front and Netradar rear. I have ALP.
You mentioned that the Redline 360c is not the best for instant on detection. Which is then the best for this?
The other two are much better on Ka. R7 for K.
The R7 is the fastest instant on that I have seen and has been And vortex radar has a video on this showing exactly the speed of the R7 it’s amazing
Keep up the good work.
cant you manually lock out that location?
Have you tried the escort with the maestro rr2 idatalink radio intgration?
R7 + M1 dash cam for $700 is hard to pass up imo
I thought the M1 dash cam would only work with escort. How do you make it work with R7
Awesome video, I wonder when will Theia will come out, or atleast get an update about the development.
Have you heard anything if cobra going to put out anything new out
I am a beginner with radars, what's the best one for basic necessities?
R7 all day!
Which detector would you use if you were configuring your car to specifically run the Cannonball from NY to LA? (which is why I am asking) Thanks
V1 Gen2 with JBV1
Exactly, I have the V2 for long road trips, I use my DP360 & R3 for driving to Wally World and doctors visits.
I was thinking R7 isn't very RDD immune. I'm currently looking to buy a detector but live in a banned market. I had been trying to decide only between V1G2 and Escort RL 360C. Is there an update making R7s more RDD immune or what's the deal with that? Thanks for all the info!!
Nope, just assume it’s not fully stealth to be safe.
I'm still rocking a 9500ix, it works for me.
Bought mine when they came out years ago. Saved me plenty. It just yesterday started intermittently not making sound. So now I'm in the market for a new one.
Same here. I have the hardwire kit and the mute button is right at my fingertips. It does what I need it to.
I've gave my 9500ix to my Son after many years of trouble free protection. Its still looks like new. Their build quality is/was 2nd to none.
"Rocking"? HaHa!
Worth the 💰❗️❗️❗️
Love it 👍

I really enjoyed this video. I've been trying to select a new detector for weeks now. Your style of wanting a plug and play detector is exactly what I want as well and this video helped clear that up for me.

Apps are great, it’s a cool feature for Road trips or something, but like you said it’s not at all plug and play. Who wants to do a pre-fight check before a drive.
Edit: lol we have identical thoughts here it seems
What settings block out the Audi q8 from setting the ka off with the redline 360c? Thank you
Redline 360c int. with latest update 1.3 didn't detect kordon M2. Last day it detect it just in-front of the camera for a half of second. But there was no time for reaction. Shame for escort who cost 900 euro. If escort didn't make update to solve this problem I'll throw it away.
Have any of your settings changed with the new 1.9 firmware?
Nope
the V1s price is kinda deceptive, if I want to order a V1, after shipping and import, etc. I'd probably be pretty close to the price of the redline
Thumbs down
Do laser jammer integration concerns change any of these conclusions for your?
Not really. ALP is still the way to go. TMG and Escort’s integration isn’t a huge deal IMHO.
@@VortexRadar okay. SOLD. I better go check to see if mine are functional as they've been quiet.
I’m definitely staying with r7 I haven’t got 1 ticket in 14 months
In NY rocking a Uniden R3 no tickets in 4 years saved countless times. I just need Theia for laser detection if it works.

Fiddling with features and various supporting tools and apps is the purview of those with the luxury of more spare time (God bless ‘em!). Plug and play comes with age and responsibility, especially when you have kids!
