Your videos have been extremely helpful. As a result, when I put my V1 in my wife's car, I purchased an Uniden R7 instead of the V1G2 or an Escort. Note that I have been using radar detectors since the beginning... my first was a Fuzz Buster (estimated weight, 3,000 lbs😀). As I watched this video you reinforced the basis for my decision to get the Uniden. The Redline has as many if not more issues than the R7 and it is almost twice the price. After 20 years of V1's this is the best unit I've owned. Auto-muting eliminates the annoying issue of needing to place the unit where it is easy to hit the mute button. This means no V1 until they provide this feature... a must have. Anyway, thanks.
I don't think the Escort has more issues than the R7 but it does have more features, therefore with more features comes the potential for more issues. Also, some of the issues aren't issues, it is a matter not not liking how Escort chose to implement. Vortex mentioned no open API platform, that's Escort's choice, that doesn't necessarily make that an issue.
I just got mine last week working great so far I been running radar D for 35 years I have the cheep ones to high end ones the redline 360c is the best one I have ever had

Hi Vortex ... after watching many of your videos I did it and when my Wife saw that I am spending $750 on a Escort Redline 360C radar detector.... I blamed YOU ... LOL .... I ordered through Best Buy here in NH and will pick it up in a few days. We have a 2019 Corvette and a 2019 5.0 Mustang and shall I say ..... like to release the ponys every now and then ;-)

I still run my Beltronics STI Magnum radar detector, I've set it up per your recommendations. It may be missing some technology but it still works well for me.
1.3 really made it POP, so to speak!!! After that, it got really better!! 1.6 was a great update too. Mine is still falsing to Mazda CX vehicles and Honda CRV and Odyssey.
SilentDiablo pre 1.3 was pretty bad. Now, it's not flawless, but pretty close. It's not V1 accurate in Arrows, but V1 gen 2 had work to do as well. I'd say the 360 Redline is among the two best now, that being it and V1 Gen 2. The R7, as good as it is, us now appearing dated and build quality on Redline is 100%. It feels as solid as V1 and is heavier. The mount for Redline is the best by far.
It's a great detector hasn't failed me. The rattle that several have experienced is a aluminum piece in the horns that comes loose. There are two flat pieces inside both horns that can work themselves apart. Took mine apart and realigned it. Great review!!
yeah, I dunno. I love(d) mine too... but I have to say... having it for 2 years only, taking VERY good care of it (aka not leaving it in hot car, no dropping, etc) and it suddenly not powering on the other day... and new power cord not fixing the issue.... for $800 this should not happen, but I understand electronics are sensitive but I certainly should NOT have to pay a repair ticket. 800 bucks spent on something like this should be "oh dill repair your warranty is still good with us we are really sorry it stopped working suddenly and we are overnighting a new one to you right away with packaging to send the busted one back". not wasting time trying power cords and waiting for a repair authorization. like wtaf? 800 bucks is a LOT of money. I can't just go buy another one. and you shouldn't have to take yours apart to fix pieces of it either.
@@dillrepair I ended up sending it in and they replaced the screen due to burn, a new antenna and update software. They threw in a new power cord and suction cup. I paid shipping to them and about $100 for repairs. Of course it was out of warranty. I agree $800 and it falls apart year later should be a free fix. So far so good. Its a good detector great off axis detection and range.
@@adaboy4z yeah I ended up doing the same… and possibly had the same thing or almost with mine even tho just on;y 1.5 years old.. “reinstalled all sftwr,replaced display and topcase, modified main” is 2hat it said on my sheet … yeah I spent the 140 too… for the warranty mostly in case something…. Yeah I guess whatever it sucks, it’s a shame I’m just happy it’s back and works, it would seem easier if this is how things go just to offer a 50 a year fee for extended warranty and immediate replacement they’d probably make more money off that. Sadly it should be more of a given that you; be taken care of if they break… at least 2 years warranty would be better
Hardwire the detector and install inline (easily accessible) power switch to silence detector in parking lots etc... Gives you complete control instantly ❗️
Great update. I love my new Redline!! I had the Max 360c... the silver one... it false alarmed so many times on BSM Ka and most of the time on my car that it was a pain in the ear... Now the Redline is so quite on Ka and is only reporting Police Ka in my area. I really enjoy using a detector now again. Still much to learn of all its features. I use the Blendmount, works great as well.
Oh yea, their App... I think it’s using Google Maps for the traffic... THEY NEED TO ALLOW US TO MANUALLY ROTATE THE MAP! I can zoom in and out which places it in the manual mode vs tracking direction of travel but I cannot rotate the map! I like to rotate and keep and eye on full commute route for traffic and then choose direction tracking zoomed in when I want.
@@RobertAlvarez70 I do not have actual range numbers but I can say it has notified me well in advance before I actually can see the..... Panda on the road or side of the road... it even warns me of the ones on the freeway above as I’m driving under the overpass. I fell more confident now that when Ka goes off here in California it’s not a false alarm.

Currently running the Redline EX international version for the last few years here in Melbourne, Australia which has been outstanding especially with the MRCD and the rest of the k / ka features as we're "lucky enough" to have nearly every different type of radar / laser speed detection device that is know to man so really need that flexibility to cover off with an undetectable detector and looking to upgrade to this. How does it perform with mobile /hidden speed cameras? Just got a massive fine from a hidden speed camera hidden under netting and bushes in the Adelaide hills, so looking to upgrade my old Escort passport.
Remember police follow procedures, so instant on radar is exactly that. So if you can see a vehicle Infront of you a couple of kilometres ahead the chances a police car will ping them first and give time to react. If you cannot see a vehicles ahead of you be careful and treat any on coming traffic as a threat of intercept

Me and four friends want the redline 360c but we will wait till there is 5 hz WiFi, it’s 2021 can’t believe it’s only 2.4 and not dual band...great video 👍🏻
hmm why would that keep you from buying one? don't most routers and hotspots have both 2.4 and 5ghz bands? You can run your high bandwidth items on 5ghz and the low bandwidth ones on 2.4 like your detector. 5 ghz in nice but not necessary as 2.4 is more than enough for updates.

Drinking the Theia Gatorade. How come Escort can get the four updates for continuous improvement out the door during Covid and Radenso can't even get the Theia out the door after 4 years of development? It isn't going to be that much better than the 360c and will undoubtedly be at least $1100, maybe $1200. No one wants to pay $250 more for a 360c over the V1G2 so I doubt someone is going to pay for a Theia when they can buy 3 R7's for the same price.
Well done video. I have the Max 360C and found out the hard way that my 2020 Dodge Challenger only has 5g WIFI. I wish Escort would change it so 5G WIFI would work.
The suction cups on my Uniden R1 also fail and required constant replacing so I just gave up on them and took them off the mount and placed heavy duty double stick tape on it.
I reckon I should have watched this before buying it lol. Glad I got it though. Just waiting on a blendmount to come off backorder. A local shop will hardwire it in with my dashcam once that arrives.

It is September 17th escort is still having delays in shipping when I checked they were still 4 to 6 weeks... Best buy was sold out I found a company that has them called custom sounds they ship free to Colorado and they do ship to the rest of the country... My old escort passport was stolen out of my car so decided to upgrade and I'm about to take a trip so I needed to replace it fairly quickly
Still awaiting to see if Thea will come to market soon. I have been running Escort Max series for years and still has my Max 360, i recently got he Uniden R7 off Amazon for$356 and has been using it , even took a ten hour road trip with it and i will say range is definitely awesome but the auto lock outs are a pain in the but. The max 360 is about 2 seconds behind the R7 when alerting on almost every KA band.
Thanks for the video I bought this radar it does an excellent job with KA band, here is the problem with this radar i live in New York City the the arrows does not work for speeding cameras MRCD it's very annoying not knowing where the cameras are, I hope they going to fix the problem..
I have the 360 from about 5 years ago which was the radar detector that had the detector built in in other words if you're going through Virginia it would jam the car and they wouldn't be able to detect that you had a radar detector
Bought this back in January, this thing is pretty good. Just wish they'd improve the app and make it compatible with android auto. BSM filtering is ok.
I wish there was a mount, like the blendmount, available to mount the detector above the rear view mirror, where Vortex has his mounted. The angle of the windshield and the clearance, does not allow enough room for the Redline’s large suction cup to fit there. I would like to mount it there, rather than under the rear view, because I have to drive through Virginia on my way to Florida, and Virginia is a state where radar detectors are illegal.
Hello, Love your videos. I have a question. We just bought a Nissan Pathfinder Platinum edition 2022. My Redline 360C always shows a K bank with the arrow pointing down. It never goes away. It gets annoying after a while. Is there something in the new Pathfinders that causes K band to go off? Is there a way to disable that band? I am not sure which one to disable. Love you get your input ! Thanks!
Thanks for your videos I was able to order and now got Escort Redline 360c. Very happy with purchase. Wish it had a simpler announcement, us mortals don't need to know Ka or X or band info but no way to suppress those in voice prompts. I also could not find how to get the alerts/beeps to play on car speakers. Over all happy with the purchase 👍
Have you tried the simple alert mode? Maybe you'd like that option since you won't have to worry about bands. www.vortexradar.com/2020/07/how-to-setup-escort-redline-360c-radar-detector/ For the car speakers option, if you're running Escort Live on your phone, you can have your phone mimic the RD's alerts and then play that audio through your car stereo.

I do have Escort live app and synced to my phone with wifi and BT but no luck yet, particularly the beeps, not the voice prompts, is what I want to send to car speakers. Thanks for the info. I have the max 360 ci and was wondering if and how to update it. I do have the phone app connected to it, but the only problem i have is occasionally the "POP" Alert sometimes locks it up and i need to turn the power off then back on to reset. Whats the issue with that? Thanks
Thank you for always being on top of the radar/dashcam news. I noticed in your video an adaptor below your dashcam which appears to allow for the connection of an additional device. Are you using two blendmounts or a single unit with a special adaptor to allow for two devices? Thanks!!
Do you mean the Blendmount? I talk about it at 9:57. It can be used for different RD's. There's also a GoPro mount which I use regularly to help me capture footage of my RD's on my windshield.

I use the redline 360 and my cousin has the uniden r7. We both got ka bands but his also picked up a laser signal. The cop got us both anyways lol but weird that my redline didn’t pick up the laser. Does the redline not pick up laser?
How can I have the Bluetooth connect automatically when I turn my car on? I always have to go to my Bluetooth settings to turn on. Or is that not an option?? Thnx
Overall really happy with my Redline ... got it last August. Works well. Recently though, there are no audio alerts - only visual. I’ve adjusted all the mute/audio settings to no avail. Any recommendations?
Curious if most 360c users like the windshield mount or go with a blendmount. the blendmount is fairly pricey on top of getting a 360c and hangs the detector below the mirror instead of being able to get it up higher. I'm thinking of still using a mirror tap of course for power, but just using the include windshield mount. Any opinions on the mount?
So just wondering why the 360c max is being just forgotten about. I don't see any improvements yet on ranges... I'm wondering if I made the right choice 😔

I have, i past right thru on the i95 from ny to Florida and back with no issues. Including some funky back road towns in the south that looks to bang you out. I made it with a car that sticks out and with ny tags you will be good
Can it use your phone to connect to the cloud (and would you need wifi hotspot enabled on the phone) or do you need to have a wifi hotspot plan enabled on your car to have this detector get updates from the cloud? Alternatively, if my car is parked in the garage, it can just get the updates from my home wifi correct? Thanks in advance!
Hi Mate. I have a new Land Rover Discovery arriving shortly and want to get one of these. It has a solar attenuating windscreen though. Is that going to be a problem? And would you recommend one of these with the M2 dash cam? Or is it better to just get a stand-alone dash cam and if so which one? Just trying to keep the windscreen as clean as possible and the M2 looks like it makes the setup quite bulky.

I'm sure you won't see this but I pray I'll get a response, how is the laser detection? In your R7 v V1g2 you said that the R7 had crummy laser detection and the V1 has great laser, but that was before the redline came out

Not sure why this video got such good reviews - I'm in Las Vegas and it was constantly giving me "speed camera" alerts.... we don't have speed cameras. Never once picked up a police car.
Right so two things. Speed cameras are typically fixed on poles and you get alerted to those by GPS. These are also not police car detectors. They’re radar detectors, and so they’re designed to detect when and if there are officers nearby who are actively using their radar guns. If they’re not, there’s nothing for your radar detector to alert to. The experience that you’ve seen so far would be similar with another brand or model of detector as well. There’s nothing really that’s Redline-specific. Give it more time and you’ll start understanding your detector better and start having more saves. :)
I think I heard that it said that it's undetected that mean that the police can tell if you have a radar detector in your vehicle I want to know if that is true or not and I know you guys always say that you know it reaches for I just wanted to know how far does it reach is there any others out there that reach as far as this one

Question: Is it normal for my redline 360c to be hot when it is plugged in but turned off? I know it is not from the outside heat or sunlight because it did it again today and it is pouring rain everywhere and not even hot outside or any sunlight at all. It feels like the equivalent to a fresh boiled egg. It is brand new, 4 days old

I always thought running two at the same time could interfere with each other and cause false alerts or decrease performance?

My auto brightness works just fine when using the regular mount. When I put on the rearview mirror mount that’s when I had a problem
I just got the dfr9 thanks to you it works fine to me today i passed a state trooper but it didn’t alert me but I remember you said it only works whenever they have it on

hmm why would that keep you from buying one? don't most routers and hotspots have both 2.4 and 5ghz bands? You can run your high bandwidth items on 5ghz and the low bandwidth ones on 2.4 like your detector. 5 ghz in nice but not necessary as 2.4 is more than enough for updates.

Drinking the Theia Gatorade. How come Escort can get the four updates for continuous improvement out the door during Covid and Radenso can't even get the Theia out the door after 4 years of development? It isn't going to be that much better than the 360c and will undoubtedly be at least $1100, maybe $1200. No one wants to pay $250 more for a 360c over the V1G2 so I doubt someone is going to pay for a Theia when they can buy 3 R7's for the same price.
Well done video. I have the Max 360C and found out the hard way that my 2020 Dodge Challenger only has 5g WIFI. I wish Escort would change it so 5G WIFI would work.

The suction cups on my Uniden R1 also fail and required constant replacing so I just gave up on them and took them off the mount and placed heavy duty double stick tape on it.

Best buy was sold out I found a company that has them called custom sounds they ship free to Colorado and they do ship to the rest of the country... My old escort passport was stolen out of my car so decided to upgrade and I'm about to take a trip so I needed to replace it fairly quickly

Still awaiting to see if Thea will come to market soon. I have been running Escort Max series for years and still has my Max 360, i recently got he Uniden R7 off Amazon for$356 and has been using it , even took a ten hour road trip with it and i will say range is definitely awesome but the auto lock outs are a pain in the but. The max 360 is about 2 seconds behind the R7 when alerting on almost every KA band.
Thanks for the video I bought this radar it does an excellent job with KA band, here is the problem with this radar i live in New York City the the arrows does not work for speeding cameras MRCD it's very annoying not knowing where the cameras are, I hope they going to fix the problem..
I have the 360 from about 5 years ago which was the radar detector that had the detector built in in other words if you're going through Virginia it would jam the car and they wouldn't be able to detect that you had a radar detector

Bought this back in January, this thing is pretty good. Just wish they'd improve the app and make it compatible with android auto. BSM filtering is ok.
I wish there was a mount, like the blendmount, available to mount the detector above the rear view mirror, where Vortex has his mounted. The angle of the windshield and the clearance, does not allow enough room for the Redline’s large suction cup to fit there. I would like to mount it there, rather than under the rear view, because I have to drive through Virginia on my way to Florida, and Virginia is a state where radar detectors are illegal.
On my r7 mrcd shows the arrows from where the souce is coming from.

Hello, Love your videos. I have a question. We just bought a Nissan Pathfinder Platinum edition 2022. My Redline 360C always shows a K bank with the arrow pointing down. It never goes away. It gets annoying after a while. Is there something in the new Pathfinders that causes K band to go off? Is there a way to disable that band? I am not sure which one to disable. lol yeah there’s this sweet spot of having the detector alert sometimes but not too much. Either extreme and people complain lol.
Thanks for your videos I was able to order and now got Escort Redline 360c. Very happy with purchase. Wish it had a simpler announcement, us mortals don't need to know Ka or X or band info but no way to suppress those in voice prompts. I also could not find how to get the alerts/beeps to play on car speakers. Over all happy with the purchase 👍

For the car speakers option, if you're running Escort Live on your phone, you can have your phone mimic the RD's alerts and then play that audio through your car stereo.

I do have Escort live app and synced to my phone with wifi and BT but no luck yet, particularly the beeps, not the voice prompts, is what I want to send to car speakers. Live app doesn't seem to get the signal from detector when it finds a radar. Can try other things if you suggest.

Do you mean the Blendmount? I talk about it at 9:57. It can be used for different RD's. There's also a GoPro mount which I use regularly to help me capture footage of my RD's on my windshield.

I use the redline 360 and my cousin has the uniden r7. We both got ka bands but his also picked up a laser signal. The cop got us both anyways lol but weird that my redline didn’t pick up the laser. Does the redline not pick up laser?

Curious if most 360c users like the windshield mount or go with a blendmount. the blendmount is fairly pricey on top of getting a 360c and hangs the detector below the mirror instead of being able to get it up higher. I'm thinking of still using a mirror tap of course for power, but just using the include windshield mount. Any opinions on the mount?

I have, i past right thru on the i95 from ny to Florida and back with no issues. Including some funky back road towns in the south that looks to bang you out. I made it with a car that sticks out and with ny tags you will be good

Can it use your phone to connect to the cloud (and would you need wifi hotspot enabled on the phone) or do you need to have a wifi hotspot plan enabled on your car to have this detector get updates from the cloud? Hi Mate. I have a new Land Rover Discovery arriving shortly and want to get one of these. It has a solar attenuating windscreen though. Is that going to be a problem? And would you recommend one of these with the M2 dash cam? Or is it better to just get a stand-alone dash cam and if so which one? Just trying to keep the windscreen as clean as possible and the M2 looks like it makes the setup quite bulky.

I'm sure you won't see this but I pray I'll get a response, how is the laser detection? In your R7 v V1g2 you said that the R7 had crummy laser detection and the V1 has great laser, but that was before the redline came out

How does the range on ka band compared to the R7
Not sure why this video got such good reviews - I'm in Las Vegas and it was constantly giving me "speed camera" alerts.... we don't have speed cameras. Never once picked up a police car.
Right so two things. Speed cameras are typically fixed on poles and you get alerted to those by GPS.
These are also not police car detectors. They’re radar detectors, and so they’re designed to detect when and if there are officers nearby who are actively using their radar guns. If they’re not, there’s nothing for your radar detector to alert to.
The experience that you’ve seen so far would be similar with another brand or model of detector as well. There’s nothing really that’s Redline-specific.
Give it more time and you’ll start understanding your detector better and start having more saves. :)

Question: Is it normal for my redline 360c to be hot when it is plugged in but turned off? I know it is not from the outside heat or sunlight because it did it again today and it is pouring rain everywhere and not even hot outside or any sunlight at all.
