We are wasting time with these debates. There is a whole world outside to bring to Christ. Christianity is righteousness that comes by faith from first to last (Rom 1:17). All else comes in between.

Sounds like something a Prot would say when he can't prove the teachings he holds to. So, we should just bring people into any form of "Christianity" even if it's false? There is no salvation outside of the Roman Catholic Church. Defending the Church & thus bringing others into it is far from wasted time.

The Bible isn't a necessity. Believing in Jesus Christ and repenting of sins is a necessity and doing so usually inspires one to read the Bible. But you can do all of the spiritual work without a copy of the Bible and just through the oral tradition.

It wasn’t the Catholic church that saved us, it was Jesus that saved us and Jesus who gets the glory and deserves our worship. No man or woman besides him will ever be worthy. It’s really not. Even Paul was fearful of his eternal salvation. 1 Corinthians 9:27
This is the KJV- 66 books,
      Some were removed, nonetheless
‘But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway’
Why would he be worried about subjecting his body daily or less he be considered a castaway?
Better go back and reread the letters to the churches, what about revelation? Jesus Christ warns them, again! Revelation 3:16, is only 1 example. If you believe in once saved always saved, you’re listening to preachers instead of reading your Bible. You’re reading into the text your own ideas. There is something spiritual about Protestants who listen to other Protestants instead of reading the early Christians and what they believed. Saint Ignatius wrote an epistle to the Ephesians, that’s a good place to read. Maybe read Cyril of Jerusalem, the first Catecheses. Compare it to the Catechsis of the church today. Learn your Christian heritage.
Read Josephus War of the Jews before the temple fell, he wrote about what happened after it happened, the temple falling in 70AD and the wars leading up to it. Maybe there’s a reason why our history isn’t taught in Protestant church, but almost every day, the Mass touches on a part of our history, get a Catholic missal, I suggest 1 prior to 1969 because some saints have been removed, but read both then.
I’m converting myself because I truly hated the CC and found out I was learning lies about it, I had to go inside to learn the truth.

Open your Bible people. Study the word. In there you will find out true salvation. Let all these religions and sects fight over the claim they are the right religion but there is only one way. Only Satan causes confusion. Those who hear will hear. Old Testament and New Testament. Both points Christ. If you fight for worldly things, you will die along with the worldly things. Génesis, the 4 Gospels and Revelation tells you the beginning, the way and what will become. Get out of babylon. ✝️ Yeshua is the only being who paid for your sins. He is the only way to God. I agree that Jesus is what matters, but a denomination gives us an outline for what a specific church believes so we know what we're getting into, people disagree with scripture, but the solution is to solve the dilemma but answering questions about scripture with scripture, not taking one verse and applying it to the entirety. There are false prophets who spread the heresy, and it's our job to point out the wolf in sheep's clothing to the flock, not avoid the problem entirely.

      @steeldragonsdx7765 3 месяца назад +3

Never listen to Protestants quote Augustine... it is never in context and always an "quote" that is interpreted against Augustine's own doctrine.
      1) Holy Eucharist (Transubstantiation or Real Presence)
I [will] explain the sacrament of the Lord’s Table. . . . That bread which you see on the altar, having been sanctified by the word of God, is the body of Christ. That chalice, or rather, what is in that chalice, having been sanctified by the word of God, is the blood of Christ. (Sermon 227: A.D. 411)
      2) Baptism and Baptismal Regeneration
It is an excellent thing that the Punic [North African] Christians call baptism salvation and the sacrament of Christ’s body nothing else than life. Whence does this derive, except from an ancient and, as I suppose, apostolic tradition, by which the churches of Christ hold inherently that without baptism and participation at the table of the Lord it is impossible for any man to attain either to the kingdom of God or to salvation and life eternal? This is the witness of Scripture too.
The sacrament of baptism is most assuredly the sacrament of regeneration. (Forgiveness and the Just Deserts of Sin, and the Baptism of Infants, A.D. 412; 1:24:34 and 2:27:43)
Baptism washes away all, absolutely all our sins, whether of deed, word, or thought, whether sins original or added, whether knowingly or unknowingly contracted. (Against Two Letters of the Pelagians, A.D. 420, 3:3:5)
      3) Reconciliation: Confession, Absolution, and Penance
I do not tell you that you will live here without sin, but they are venial sins which this life is never without. Baptism was instituted for all sins. For light sins, without which we cannot live, prayer was instituted. . . . But do not commit those sins on account of which you would have to be separated from the body of Christ. Perish the thought! For those whom you see doing penance have committed crimes, either adultery or some other enormities. That is why they are doing penance. If their sins were light, daily prayer would suffice to blot them out. . . . In the Church, therefore, there are three ways in which sins are forgiven: in baptisms, in prayer, and in the greater humility of penance. (Sermon to Catechumens on the Creed , A.D. 395; 7:15, 8:16 )
Let us not listen to those who deny that the Church of God has power to forgive all sins. (De agon. Christ., iii)
In that one [Adam], as the apostles says, all have sinned. Let, then, the damnable source be rebuked, that from the mortification of rebuke may spring the will of regeneration-if, indeed, he who is rebuked is a child of promise,-in order that, by the noise of the rebuke sounding and lashing from without. . . . God may by his hidden inspiration work in him from within to will also. If, however, being already regenerate and justified, he relapses of his own will into an evil life, assuredly he cannot say, “I have not received,” because of his own free choice to evil he has lost the grace of God that he had received (On Rebuke and Grace, ch. 9).

@@BrownRecluse1738 I don't think James contradicts Paul either but not for the reasons you think.
Paul was talking about works of the law not good works. The apparent contradiction is with surface-level readers who ignore the historical context and the tradition that is interlaced in words.
James is telling us that there is a type of faith that is not fruitful. To be saved, you must have living faith. If there is a faith without works, you will not be saved, and therefore, good works are needed to be saved, not as a mere demonstration of faith.
This is a false premise- "If we could be saved by our works, there would be no need for Jesus"
Without Jesus, where would we be saved to? Jesus' one sacrifice makes it possible to be saved.
Noah had faith and also had to build the ark.
Abraham had faith but also had to go through with sacrificing his son.
Jesus had faith but still had to carry his cross and die on calvary.
We must have faith but also remain faithful - which is an enduring faith that goes beyond initial justification - the moment we believe. To perform good works is not to save yourself as Jesus remains the final judge of your salvation.
All of our good works will be put to the test in 1 Corinthians 3:15. For even the demons believe - but clearly, they only have the type of faith that is not living.

And there are numerous fathers that do comment on Protestant beliefs, but conveniently those church fathers are just wrong.. And all the other fathers that make certain theological claims which endorse Roman Catholic dogma are all right. Even if they’re blatant anachronisms and inserting dogma (that didn’t develop until hundreds of years later) into the scripture. Not to mention what they tout was absolutely unknown to the apostles. If they had known about it.. It woulda made it into the New Testament!

Overtime, the Catholic Church came to prove the most fundamental reason as to why we need Christ. We are sinful and imperfect, and as such, the institutions we create will also fall into this pattern, despite our best efforts. The Roman church became corrupt, preaching the words of politics above the Bible, and became a powerful entity that existed to enrich and glorify itself, not God.
This is not necessarily their fault though. All things of this Earth, including the church, will have a separation from God. We must be vigilant against this. The Catholic Church fell into the same problems that all human beings and institutions do. The PR was meant to reset and repair this.
We must not fool ourselves: no priest, pope, or deacon can take priority over the Bible, or Christ himself. The church as an institution is critical and important to our faith and salvation, to assume otherwise is folly. But the idea that the Church is the only saving element is wrong. We are saved by Christ and Christ alone.

Take the Eucharist and John 6
63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you-they are full of the Spirit[e] and life.
Jesus tells us that it is not real flesh and is the Holy Spirit in the Eucharist. And since the flesh is the Bread and we receive the Holy Spirit and the Light. We can believe the light is the blood.
68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”
Then Peter says the Eucharist used in this way is to give Eternal life(holy Spirit) and save people. And that those left have believed have the Holy Spirit and Light.
Looking at the similar first passage where Jesus says Rememberance he must be talking to saved disciples.
Ok, So the Eucharist is Jesus in us and has the Holy Spirit and Light. So, can you get a larger infilling of Holy Spirit?
The Bible seems to tell us yes, if we look at Moses and 70 elders
Some of the Spirit is taken from Moses and given to elders. So Moses has more than elders

The Bible interprets itself and its by following the commands of King Yeshua himself, who dwelt in the Father and the Father in Him, that we come to know what the scriptures say. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. That same Word became flesh and dwelt then as it does now and did going all the way back to Adam long before there was ever any established Hierarchy among men. The Bible is the Written Witness of the Experience of that same Light, That Living Spoken Word that was in the Mouth of Christ. That same Word Created the Heaven and Earth that we can see with our own Eyes and is the same when We approach YHWH Elohim with the Heart that is broken and Contrite just as David, Abraham, Moses Peter, James, John and all heard and saw the things in which he said and did. The Jews themselves were given the perfect priesthood that showed everyone that Humans fail to uphold what is contained in the Law and continually become corrupted. They continually(outside of Those who YHWH ELOHIM ADONAI chose to have His word with them) failed abd caused others to sin because, just like the Roman Catholic Church, saw thenselves as the oracle and it was their interpretations that put the congregation in rituals and slavery to the Temple and they lived lavishly off the backs of others while tbe poor, widows and fatherless suffered. He that eats of my flesh and drinks of my blood dwells in me and I in him is not about eating a cracker and drinking wine, but is about following the path laid out by the Son of Man in plain language and is seen in those that walked with The True and Living God YHWH ELOHIM in the Old Testement. It isnt about an individual relationship but about a full body of those who The Spirit of God dwells in, However the True Temple of God in Zion is built by those living individual stones fit neatly together by the glue that is the Eternal Word of God Spoken by the mouth of The Living God himself((1Peter 2:5-9) Those who are the children of the Kingdom are those who the Spirit of Truth dwells within by those whom the Son of man has sewn the seed of the Kingdom within by that very following of HIS commands to Love God with all their heart mind soul and strength so as to love their neighbor as they would themselves. That Spirit of Truth that grows from that Spiritual seed is the offspring of THE HOLY Spirit of God that ONLY dwells in those that again, follow Yeshuas commands, not a Pagan Institution that proudly proclaims itself something it isnt. The ROCK(The cornerstone1 00Peter 2:6-8, psalm 118, Acts 4:18, Ephesians2:20Jeremiah 51:26,Job 38:4-6) by which the Church is born and grows from is the REVELATION that the Man called Jesus in the Bible IS the One that will save them from their sins and restore unto them the freedom that was lost, not a life of servitude to a church a bunch of men that have exalted themselves as something special because they can reiterate doctrines of men and use the Bible to subvert the minds of the unstable souls. Christ told Peter that Blessed He was because the Revelation he recieved is that which was given to him by God himself, not flesh and blood(Matthew 16). Peter didnt find it through the traditions and teachings of the priesthood or from the scribes or chief priests but by the Father himself revealing it to him neither did any other ever.
Have you not read about David when he went to the Temple and ate the shewbread? Christ showed what the True meaning of the priesthood is by giving the Bread of Life to the hungry rather than withholding it and using it as a means to Lord over others just as you and the RCC has done for centuries telling the people that the cravker and wine is actual blood and flesh. John 6 shows clearly that by the people who walked away, that it wasnt an actual eating of human flesh abd human blood as the hearers that walked away did not understand and thought that is what he meant.
A Good Tree does not bring forth Corrupt fruit nor can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. The Roman Catholic Church has not only held people under the chains of rituals and idolatry praying to Pagan gods with Christian Names slapped on top, but has withheld the Truth in order to justify the doctrines because they themselves have become the very fulfilment of the wicked ones prophesied throughout the Old Testement (Jeremiah 23:16,Isaiah 29:13, Ezekiel 33:31,Matthew 15:7-9, Jude, 2 Peter) The charged money for forgiveness of sins, seized governmental control and teach them that its not about Loving God with all your heart mind soul and strength so as to love your neighbor as yourself but showing allegiance to the 'Church' and its Papacy a very counterfeit lineage just like that of the Northern Kingdom of Israel, but also was exposed for sexually molesting millions of children. No people of the High Pirest abd Spiritual offspring will do such things as the Law and Prophets, Psalms and Prophets, New Testement and Revelation shows us. The Christ who is the fulfillment of the Law and Prophets, was a lowly poor man who did not exalt himself to robes and effeminate religious garb, and rituals that led to no profit but was a carpeneter that followed the Law of God as was intended and spoken of by the Prophets. The seed of the Christ is in those that Your Institution has persecuted. The Word of God is the most vital part of the enduring unto Eternal Life and yet, the RCC wants it hidden by their own interpretation. The RCC even went so far as to kill individuals that YHWH ELOHIM ADONAI was moving in to bring forth that Word of God to the Common man in his own language. You ought to be ashamed of yourself for demeaning the poor and keeping them in darkness using the scripture to guilt people into submitting to the Satanic institution of a sensual pagan religion that goes all the way back to Nimrod and Semiramus. The RCC is modern day Sun worship and believe me when I say this, Your participation in such iniquity to cause others to sin will be brought back upon your own head. Let this be your last Warning.

You don’t think the Apostles ever asked Mary the mother of Jesus for her prayers???? You don’t think Mary prayed for her Son’s Apostles???
And the Apostles talk about Saint veneration in their writings. The Apostle Paul explains the theology of it in 1 Corinthians 12. Ever read in the Apostles’ writings where that exhort Christians to give each other the kiss of peace? That’s a form of Saint veneration. Not only do we venerate the Saints in Heaven, but also the Saints on earth.
When did the Apostles ever take orders from a Pope? Have you ever read the Book of Acts? Lol. Peter the Apostle was the first Pope, the first leader of the universal Christian Church. Jesus Himself made Peter the universal pastor in Matthew 16, Luke 22 and John 21. I highly recommend that you read Scripture to get your questions answered.

@@VoiceOfReason_ There is absolutely zero proof and nothing in the Scriptures that points to any of the Apostles asking Mary to intercede or mediate for them in prayer. That's ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is the Catholic prayer to Mary: "Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy..."
      How is that Biblical?!
      1 Timothy 2:5
"For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus"
I hope I'm reading your comment incorrectly, but did you cite 1 Corinthians 12 as justification for Catholic "veneration" (worship) of the saints, specifically the kiss of peace? Every second you pray to one of your saints (a pagan practice), you aren't praying to God through Jesus Christ. Remember that.
We're now reaching Jehovah's Witness-level manipulation of Scripture if that's really how Catholics justify plastering their "churches" with graven images of the saints, which as you probably know is a total disregard for God's 2nd Commandment. (Didn't Catholics delete that Commandment from their doctrine somehow?!)
As far as the pope, if the Catholic understanding of Acts is correct (it isn't), and Peter was in fact the first pope (he wasn't), where does it say in the Scriptures that the pope is infallible as is taught in Catholic doctrine? I seem to be reading something Paul wrote that says the opposite...
      Galatians 1:8
"But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed."
The truth is, the Catholic Church teaches a false gospel. It's a false, works-based (prescriptive prayers, false confessions to a "father", self-flagellation, forced celibacy, etc.) religion that will go down in history as Satan's greatest deception.
Remember when your church used to charge money for mass? Remember when they demanded money for entrance into Heaven? Remember when they chained up the Bible so laymen couldn't access it? Remember when Catholics murdered actual Christians for disseminating God's Word? Catholicism is a lie straight from the pits of hell. And it has nothing to do with original or fundamental Christianity, or any Christianity at all.
Let me ask you this. How does a Catholic get saved? Well, let me tell you how a Christian is saved. Have faith in the Risen Lord Jesus Christ and repent. I implore you to drop all of this, stop spreading lies and false doctrine, and come to the Lord through faith.

So Mary, who is in Heaven, can present our prayers before God. And we can even ask her to do this because we know that the Body of Christ is not divided, according to St. Paul in 1 Corinthians 12, and we know from the Gospel and also from Hebrews 11 & 12 that the Saints in Heaven are aware of the saints on earth, which also explains how they can present our prayers before God, again, as it is described in Revelation 5 & 8.
And you are just plain wrong about the universal authority of Peter the Apostle. Go back and re read Mathew 16, Luke 22 and John 21. Jesus out Peter in charge OVER even the other Apostles.
And just because his death isn’t recorded in scripture doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. You do realize that history didn’t just stop after the New Testament was completed, right? We actually have the writings of the early Christians who KNEW the Apostles personally, and that all tell us that Peter, the chief of the Apostles and the head of the entire Christian Church was martyred in Rome. @@RayBooM_ You’re correct in saying that the canon of scripture itself is not mentioned directly in the Bible because the scripture itself is written by different authors, and while all scripture is God breathed, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, some scripture was not implemented into the Biblical canon. For example the gospel of Thomas, Peter, Mary and Pontus Pilate. To be included in the New Testament scripture had to meet certain criteria. The first is that to be included, the gospels had to be written by eyewitness, like Matthew and John, or someone who knew an eyewitness like Mark and Luke. The second criteria was that they had to agree with orthodox Christian faith. So the Gnostic gospels like the gospel of Barnabas and the gospel of Thomas teach that the body is evil and the spirit is good, which contradict orthodox Christian belief. So the Canon of the Bible is based on what the scripture itself stated to be included in the Biblical canon. That’s why the church today can’t just write new teachings that contradict the Bible because they never knew Jesus. Another thing is that I could ask a Catholic who decides what determines which church fathers are canon or not, without using scripture as an infallible guideline?

Any doctrine or tradition that contradicts the Holy Bible, constitutes "a new gospel".
While mere humans may come up with things like selling indulgences, "purgatory" or calling their priests "father", these things are not found in Holy Scripture.

      THEOPNEUSTOS (θεόπνευστος)

The term "theopneustos" is derived from two Greek words and is commonly translated as "God-breathed" or "inspired." It appears only once in the Bible, specifically in 2 Timothy 3:16, where it is used to describe scripture. The meaning of "theopneustos" has been a subject of debate among scholars. Some argue that it implies a divine origin, suggesting that scripture comes directly from God's breath, while others contend that it refers to the effect scripture has on individuals, emphasizing its spiritually life-giving nature rather than its origin. This debate has implications for the understanding of sola scriptura, as some Protestants have used the term to support the belief that scripture is the sole infallible rule of faith. However, the interpretation of "theopneustos" as solely indicating divine origin and infallibility is questioned by examining its usage in early Christian and Jewish writings, as well as its grammatical context in 2 Timothy 3:16. Ultimately, the term may be better understood as emphasizing the spiritual efficacy of scripture rather than its exclusive authority as the only infallible rule of faith.
      Instances:
The Sibylline Oracles: This collection of ancient Greek oracles includes a reference to the city's theopneustic springs, indicating a divine or spiritually life-giving quality associated with these springs. The Sibylline Oracles were composed by different authors over several centuries and were considered prophetic in nature.
Testament of Abraham: This Jewish pseudepigraphical work contains a reference to the use of theopneustic ointments to preserve the body of the righteous Abraham after his death, with the hope of his potential resurrection. The Testament of Abraham is believed to have been written sometime between the 1st and 5th centuries CE and is part of the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha.

Good thing that the Catholic Church does not teach anything opposed by the Bible.

@@vinoneil that's the most stupidest statement ever. Why do you think people including me come out of the Roman Catholic Church? We see lies and don't want to be part of it. If your statement was true why for the longest time did the catholic church killed anyone who translated the Bible?

Yeah, they do have a knack for that.

First of all, you're a liar.
Secondly, Eternal Security is in The BIBLE. Thirdly, you have obviously never even read the book of John.
