So I bought all 3 original from Apple (so you don’t have to and to save yourself from explaining the 200$ purchase to the gf) : Trail loop : super comfy but the band started to look bad after 3 months of daily wearing, would not recommend. Alpine loop : really loved it, like a nato style. The big issue for me was nicking the case every time I remove the band because the buckle is made of Titanium as well and it swings on the case when I remove it. Ocean band : my favorite. Sweat proof, dirt proof and breathable. This is the one to get in my opinion. It’s the band you’ll be able to use in any condition and suits the Ultra perfectly.
I’ve got the three bands and just wanted to share back after a year. The most comfortable is the trail one but the most durable and that keep it original shape. Whatever you’re doing with it is the ocean!
It's been 6 months since I've bot the Ultra with trail loop. The strap is very comfortable and holds the watch in place on my wrist but its a nightmare when it gets wet from sweat or water. Very annoying and hard to keep clean. The only strap for me that make sense in everyday use is the ocean band. The strap doesn't get wet, its easy to clean and comfortable on my skin.
@@AkiraWastaken only the people i see with the trail band loop and i just ask them if i can see it close up, then i get close wnough to smell it but they dont notice that i smell it.
The Trail Loop is my absolute favourite Ultra specific band. I got the black with orange accent one when my local Apple Store finally got them in stock. It is now my go-to band after having ordered the Watch with the orange Alpine Loop (which I also love but regardless of which way you hook that band on to the watch, it’s a pain to take on and off and I did buy the correct size).
@@shimanohenry3355 I’m not talking about the display I’m referring to the titanium casing of the Watch the part where you attach your band to , since it’s both titanium……
As a surfer, I recommend the Ocean Band as it is safe, lightweight and doesn't soak water. I can easily clean it later with fresh water. The band also allows my skin to breathe underneath and doesn't stretch out. Even during other activities, the Ocean Band doesn't soak up sweat.
The trail loop is prime for pro pocket pickers. I love it for running but when I visited Europe this friendly gentleman told me to use another wristband because that band is an easy target. :\
The ocean band is my favorite! Since I work out a lot and swear the other bands get dirty and are not great if you work out often and get sweaty but if your lazy and sit around then the other bands are good.
yeah, the Ocean was a no brainer - it's the only one that isn't absorbent and I love being active so I have to get something that won't soak up the sweat!
Can’t agree more for the way to wear the Watch Ultra!!! Way more natural. I have the Ocean band and the Trail Loop. Even though the Trail Loop is more comfortable, I prefer to wear my Watch Ultra with the Ocean Band! Great review!
I may give the Trail Loop a try. The problem I have is those rubber/silicon bands irritate my skin but don't cause a rash, the Alpine Loop I cant seem to find a setting that's comfortable. This is all while trying to find the most versatile option that looks nice wearing to the office but also is not a pain to sleep in.
So I am looking in upgrading my Apple Watch to an ultra and having a hard time picking a band. I typically go to the gym and lift weights and I do go freshwater fishing pretty frequently. Any recommendations?
I ordered my Apple Ultra with the Starlight Loop band but by mistake got a small. It works but hard to get over my hands so I ordered a three pack of Amazon's Ocean Bands which contained a Midnight and a Starlight. I really like them and everything matches up. Didn't think the Apple $99 was worth it that is until I was in the Apple Store last weekend and looked at one. Although the Amazon ones are good there is just something about the quality of Apple's products that make them worth the cost so I got a Midnight from Apple and love it. I know others will disagree but that is fine. It's like the old saying 'your get what you pay for'.
I’ve used the sport loop before and really didn’t like it because of the feel and texture. The trail loop is hands down much more comfortable and never budges, which the sport loop did whilst sleeping with it.
I prefer the Ocean Band. Best for water sports and sweat. And it just looks best. The orange Ocean Band is the biz. On a side note. The Ocean Loop is just as secure as the Alpine loop 🤷🏻♂️ You have however enticed me to try out the Trail Loop 😜
I have both the Trail and Alpine, Trail is the most comfortable band I have used. I use Alpine when doing tasks where I don't want the watch coming off at all!
In between trail and alpine cause I care about weight and comfort. What’s the feel of alpine vs trail? Currently have the Nike sport loop. Love it for smaller Watch face, but I like the more rugged look of the alpine, matches the large watch a bit better. Thoughts?
Ur 100% right with how to fit the band. I think apple made a mistake. U shud contact them, they may give u a prize lol 😂. Greetings from England 🏴
Great and informative video. Like most I agree that the Trail Loop is the one I pick for my band and it is as you said lite and very comfortable on the wrist . Thanks will continue to subscribe and follow.....................Thanks👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I have the ocean band. I had to order the ultra by the band. It got delayed by weeks on order day. I had to order a yellow ocean band. Not a fan of the yellow. Ordered the dark one also.
Silicone rubber on the ocean band can definitely irritate some people, me included. Affects me most on warm days, when the silicone rubs/pinches my skin
$49 was quite expensive already $99 it’s just insane. The fact I can get a pretty good replica with metal connectors and everything delivered for $11 says it at. Cost of production even with apple materials should not exceed 10 bucks they are getting a 900% profit margin.
Man , AMEN. It’s ridiculous that there 100 bucks smh but they know that ultimately since we bought the ultra we can afford those 100 dollar bands n some of us will eventually break n pay that stupid ass price lol

What is the width of the fabric base, without the metal fastening of the case, of the ALPINE strap? I want to break (remove) metal fasteners and use them for ordinary mechanical watches instead of a NATO strap. There's either 20 mm or something else.
DO NOT BUY AN ALPINE LOOP. Mine started tearing looping part after 6 months and now after almost a year its tearing from both sides at all metal points attached to the watch
Apple uses the best rubber material of any brand out there, that includes high horology watch brands, well except RM, which uses FFKM. Apple uses FKM, both are an overkill for a wrist band.
Wouldn’t trust a Velcro strap on a big heavy watch. Also if you exercise often sweat, water , swimming 🏊♂️ ( no scuba diving just normal swimming) than I don’t see how it’s gonna last !!
I totally disagree with how to wear the Alpine Loop, I wear it as Apple suggests and take it off and at work 3-4 times a day at work and I close it walking with no issue. I tried the opposite and just doesn’t do it for me. To each they’re own I guess ;-} I have 2 of each and of the 3 the ones definitely not worth the $99, I say $59 or $69 at best. I doubt Apple agrees. It depends on the day which is my favorite. I think the Trail Loop, while I really dig the look/comfort but I think, especially the Yellow/Beige TL, I think it’s “delicate” and possibly dirty quite quick. We shall see. Thanks for the video.
Selling these watches with bands was a stupid move. They could have sold the watch and bands separately. So now if you want to exchange just the band you have replace the whole watch within 14 days. Just think of how many people did not like their band and had to return the whole watch. Really?
I really like the ocean band’s looks and material, but I have a 200mm (ish) wrist which is right on the edge of what apple recommends for the band (130mm wrists to 200mm wrists), so I may just have to buy the trail loop version since it supports larger wrists.

My wrist is 16 cm (6.3 inches).
Forget it......We got the same wrist size , the M "would " fit but i cannot "for the love of god" get my hand trough it without destroying my watch and the with the L its easier to take on/off but you´ll already be in the last loop and its just to loose. This Hook kills you watch , seriously
