03:01 - Don't ever forget guys, here the adventure begun. This simple music and route gave us so much excitement and awe for the world we just stepped in and not knowing where to go. No internet, no spoilers, no information, blind as it could get. Every new thing we discovered was exciting. We trained who we liked, not knowing if they were strong or weak, and not because of Ivs or Evs or some math; it was just an innocent game. And not only for us, it was the beginning for the biggest franchise existing today. New gens might hate Red and Blue and title them as simple and boring, but we all know who grew up with this, the most important part of anything is the solid groundwork.
I don't think anyone really hates Red/Blue. It's more hating the reverent "Gen 1 Pokemon is the only good Pokemon" sentiments that used to float around a lot.
its not a pokemon comment section without some annoying replier (hi) pointing out that EVs are one of the main reasons you CAN train who you like in-game (gen1 and beyond), given theyll end up much stronger than the opponents pokemon of the same level and species due to stat experience. pokemon has been an algebra simulator since its inception and competitive play is no less a part of the worldwide community than it is in smash brothers or overwatch. also, the rivalry between old and new pokemon fans, at least from what i saw growing up with it began in gen 5 with the older fans continually bashing everything new. the new generation today never experienced the wonder of the original pokemon craze and of course can't see this old, buggy, broken, beautiful game how original players did. but one thing you did hit right on the head- spoilers. there used to be a 6 month wait for localization, where rumors would overtake the poorly translated magazine clippings and make for some pretty wild stories. and before the internet was omnipresent, rumors were all you had to go off of. thats something lost not just in gaming but in all media.
Not to mention how ruthless these games were with opps shit talking kicking you down coming out of a cave half alive...new gens have never ever been challenging like that.
The S.S. Anne section is so beautiful, elegant, and majestic. It legitimately brought a tear to my eye listening to it. I had to rewind and play it through multiple times. Masterful in execution. It's what I had imagined a luxury cruise liner to sound like when I first heard the original 8-bit version coming out of my old Gameboy Pocket's speaker.
I was 10 years old in 1998 when it came out in the United States! My mom bought me Pokémon Blue. I’m still an enormous fan and this compilation literally had me sobbing from happiness of these beautiful memories turned into beautiful music
I was 10 also when these games came out. It became all I wanted to play ony Gameboy Pocket. As soon as the battle theme came on my hair stood up on my arm. The newer pokemon games don't have have battle themes like these anymore and it is sad.
Absolutely epic. Nearly makes me cry, similar to playing the remastered Let's Go! versions but even more moving. Amazing the original composition were etched so well in a MIDI file and introduced these adventurous and inspiring melodies. Some of the best music written in the 20th century will come from video games were composers were unhinged and allowed full creativity. This is the future compositions that will be talked about in music theory classrooms the same way we study the romantic period now.

8:49 Wow, that kicked right in the memories. Reminded me so much of hundreds of battles you went through from your home in Palet town, to the very end at the Elite four.
Dude, this is _really fricking good_ and so under-rated too! Only 6K views and *_430_* subscribers for 30 minutes of music?! I love how you went ahead and took your own stance on each piece, yet retained their original feelings so well! The transitions were done especially well (oh and i like the little things like how you slipped in the Rival theme into the finale at around 22:09). Looking to hear more from ya (i'd love to hear GS' version of Viridian Forest)!
The suspense of Viridian Forest leading into the sudden sting of a wild Pokemon battle really brought back the feeling of terror from my first time playing Pokemon Red as a kid. The first blind playthrough at 6 years old, with my starter at red-bar HP, and it's the last square of grass before getting out of Viridian Forest. The pure horror of not knowing if I would be thrown all the way back to God knows where, or if I would make it out of the creepy forest maze full of scary poison bugs. 12 out of 10 on the nostalgic trauma scale.
There actually IS a live action Pokemon movie. www.google.com/search?q=detective+pikachu&oq=detective+pikachu&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.4206j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Saw the thumbnail and thought “oh great, ANOTHER synthetic Pokémon orchestra.” Imagine my surprise when it’s actually awesome. You added enough traditional “epic orchestra” motifs to make it interesting while preserving the feeling and integrity of the original score. Great work!!
Absolutly magnificent. My eyes watered a little, so many memories coming back. Would be cool to hear lavender town as well but other than that, brilliant.
I was straight up no sound, gripping my aching heart sobbing. I had to stop at 7 minutes. I wasn’t trying to have a break down right now. I was 10 when Red and Blue came out. I could see myself in my house, with my brothers and cousin. This was my childhood. I’m still an enormous fan to this day. What beautiful memories turned into beautiful music. We’re so lucky.
Thank you so much for making this, it is really amazing to find an actual orchestral arrangement of Pokemon music, and it sounds SO GOOD! As someone who has stuck with Pokemon for many years, it really takes me back to when I first started playing the games and the sense of wonder surrounding that, so thanks! Also, for requests for the gold and silver medley, the SS Aqua track would be really awesome, the cheery adventurous nature of it is really cool.
Bro how do you only have 2k subscribers? The orchestration here is fantastic, not to mention how much the nostalgia just pricked me right in the heart. So good.
Extremely underrated, amazing job. Every second of this I enjoyed. I'd love to hear a gen 3 medley, although I'll be happy with whatever gen's music you produce.
This may be one of the best things ever recommended to me. Your scoring and arrangements are awesome! The fact every song has its own time to shine, yet contributes to the full movement is perfection. The Percussion is also not overused, but still shines through when needed.... GAH I CANT EVEN DEAL. Well done!! As for the track from GSC? Gosh The Ruins of Alph (the slower part after the puzzle), was always one of my favorite tunes. Yeah, Red/Lance is iconic and all, but having the somewhat fast tempo of the Ruins while you are doing the puzzle slow down to almost a crawl... and then seeing 'you sense a presence'... the glow worm on your Game Boy suddenly felt like it was the only light in the world.
Pokemon Yellow was my first exposure to video games ever, but I only got up to Lt. Surge! I didn't actually beat any of the Gen 1 games until they were re-released on the 3DS :P
@@MamaSymphonia That doesn't make any sense. They were sold for years, there's remakes, and you can literally play them for free on an emulator at any time.
This is beautiful, so crisp, no annoying **hiss** many musical pieces have on RUclips in addition to exceptionally long pauses and terribly low audio levels. The electric guitar was a nice touch... plus the rendition for _S.S Anne_ y'all did was majestic but _Hall of Fame/Finale_ even moreso! I was... 9? when The Pokémon craze took the USA by storm in 1998. Still a fan, always will be. So glad the developers for G/S/C shortened Veridian Forest and Mt. Moon maps from R/B/Y/G. They saved time on programming, all the while not punishing players.
I was here mainly because of the Champion theme and when it finally came time to hear the Champion theme, it did not disappoint, you did an amazing job arranging this! And keep the good work!
What you guys do with the route 4 track... I feel like I’m 6 years old again playing the games, it really warmed my heart. GSC? Obviously the New Bark Town theme and Goldenrod! You guys will slay the medley no matter what songs you add! Thank you for this amazing medley!
