Thanks for sharing this video. I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one who tries out a planner and then switches back mid- week to what I know works for me.😂
It really was a surprise to me too Sarah! I've used 2 Cousins in the past, 2 Weeks, 2 A6 Techo's...so I've used a lot of Hobonichi's- but never stuck with one for an entire year! I came close with my Weeks I think;) Have a good week!
That Katie Daisy planner is ADORABLE. I definitely bookmarked the 2025 on Amazon. Also, I keep feeling the pull to use a disc bound system, but as soon as I set the week up I start to miss my passion planner. It’s just so fitting for me right now.
Darn it, Amanda! The zoom chat this morning and this video are making me miss my Passion Planner. 😂 I’m going to have to pull it and my Ashley Shelley monthly out and play in them. Good thing the LD is undated, and the Simplified is so easy to redate. 😅 My problem is that when I’m in my Passion Planner I miss my Simplified, and when I’m in my Simplified I miss my Passion Planner. 🤦♀️
I understand Jana! They both have so many good things that you enjoy about them...I have those same feelings about several planners;) And I loved that positive zoom chat! So glad you could join:)
The last 2 years my main planner has been the Passionate Penny Pincher Home Planner and I have been very happy with it. I also use a day free for my on the go planner.
Passion planner is so frustrating to me. I want to love it! The concept of it fits my life but I CANNOT get over all of the gray chaos on the page. The harsh lines, the hours printed so dark on each day, even the cool white paper is not aesthetically pleasing. I feel like there is no room for me on those pages. So frustrating. It could be so good…..😢
I feel the same way! I love the brand and the goal setting but the weekly stresses me out because the page feels so cluttered! A lighter gray and fewer numbers (do we really need every half hour labeled?) would make such a difference. I'm so tempted to buy the greenhouse cover Amanda has, but I know I won't use it. 😢
Same! Every year I think--oh! I could use Passion Planner. Then I go to their website and remember how cramped the layout feels. I need white space. And I don't see the point of a daily planner with everything pre-sectioned and labeled already.
It’s the harsh lines for me. It’s like commanding me to do many things I do not want to. Happy Planner has hourly layout but it’s printed in this grey color only on Monday (left page) and Thursday (right page)
"I didn't record a lot, but that doesn't really matter. What it's for is however it serves me best at the time." Well said! I use a daily plum paper planner and remove pages that didn't get used (I use disc-bound) and add them to the end to re-date ans keep my planner going. It works great since Plum Paper can start on any month I want.
Good question. I have a video coming out today that will touch on this about functional planning;) I put all my appointments and big to do's that I know must happen on that day in my weekly. I also put my big weekly to do list in my weekly planner. Then I don't fill out my daily until the day before or even the morning of that day. I look what wasn't don't from my daily yesterday and I look at my weekly and map out my day from there. As the day goes on- different things get added to my page. In my next quarterly stack video I will try to remember to go into detail about this topic:)
I'm still in Agendio! I keep trying to switch (I miss designing my own covers in Personal Planner ☹️), but the customization has me hooked. CityGirl Planners is the only other one that is close in terms of building what I need (monthly-weekly-daily with lots of note pages and daily wellness journal with habit trackers and logs).
Sprouted has such a good daily layout;) Etsy ended up denying us- long story short. So my shop is now operated out of my Patreon Page. But you don't have to be a patreon to shop. It just is a button that says "shop" up there: www.patreon.com/amandasfavorites?
@@AmandasFavorites That's unfortunate. Glad they didn't keep you from sharing some. functional products. I agree with the frixion pen. It's not my favorite to write with but being able to erase is so helpful. :)
I always love to see your stack. It is so much fun. I have watched this several times. Here is mine: I use Planner Perfect for daily planning (I get the planner subscriptions), Hobonichi for daily journaling, and Hobonichi Weekly to carry and document appointments. I use Katie Daisy for gratitude, MäksēLife for goal planning (and I absolutely love that format and paper quality), LAUREL DENISE for work, and your ASHLEY SHELLY design as a wall calendar.
Thank you for your candor about mental health and wellness. Passion Planner question - it looks like you weren't always using the hourly calendar day by day, but just slotting big chunks in your day. I struggle w using their daily hour. by hour planner format because my meetings can change often, but hadn't given myself permission to use that space differently. Do you also sometimes use that space for to-dos? Thank you - your content is AMAZING - so excited to discover your channel.
Hi Amy- welcome! Yes- I use the daily columns as just to-do space. sometimes black out space- but other times it's just a to list as I think of things to add to that day:)
I have used an EC vertical weekly, and this year I am trying a new teacher planner, 4 the love of pi. In the summer I have an undated daily notebook that I use to keep track of to do lists and appointment.
I have zero need for another planner this year. The number I've already drifted through is... a lot. (Aura Estelle B6, Sterling Ink weeks, Papertess weeks, A6 Hon, Jibun Techo Days A5 slim, and upcoming - an Agendio A5 Daily for 6 months that starts July 1) But I can't resist that Katie Daisy! I'm not sure how I'll incorporate it, but I just want to... look at it? I don't know. I'm a crazy planner person! But I am a long-time follower, first-time commenter and I just want to let you know that I appreciate you! I've gotten so much great information and inspiration from you over the years.
Hello:) I am so glad you took the time to comment today! You made me smile:) And I know what you mean about not being able to resist the Katie Daisy...it just brings so much joy!
I actually moved in for June (just used February where the dates lined up correctly)! I have tried it off and on. It's a very cool layout- just not going to be my weekly planner right now:) Mainly because I use my Ashley Shelly Monthly notebook planner for my monthly- and so the extra big monthly in LD is just not what I am needing in my system. But I love that innovation!
I am on week 1 of having my Hemlock and Oak in rings after pulling it off the binding (half-way through month 3 overall.) I have figured out how to deal with my own personal cons of having rings to where the cons no longer exist and loving the freedom to add/subtract what I want. My new plan for '25 is learn how to print out the monthly views in Canvas and use/get whatever stickers I love that fit in my budget.
It was supposed to go up before this video and then it had to get bumped- so now that Passion Planner video is this next week- June 25th:) Thanks for asking and sorry for the confusion:)
I can't swap planners, unless it's not working and that I can tell very quickly. I'm a horizontal, Monday start, week to a view, full Saturday and Sunday space, planner girl. I carry my Hobonichi Weeks everywhere, use my Amelia Lane spiral bound as the household task master, and then a stock standard A4 week on two pages for work (has to be kept separate)
I got the horizontal Laurel Denise using your code! I do really like it and can see myself using it again next year. But what I have added is an updated daily Hemlock and Oak. I have been craving some time blocking and although I am not super married to it. I do like to set up and think about a day
I understand about time blocking. I go through periods where I really have to do that to get stuff done and function and others periods where I can be more loose;)
That Laurel Denise planner is interesting because of the unusual size. Super romantic and feminine and lately I’ve been more intentional about making everything practical beautiful too including planners.
I am still totally content in the MomAgenda. I just wish it was a 12 month Jan-Dec instead of the 18 month. I am trying to decide if I want to finish out the year in my current book or switch to the new one that starts in July. Such a dilemma!!! I have a Sterling Ink 5 year journal but I haven't started it yet. I have never used that type of paper, so was curious to try it out. I also adore the Katie Daisy planners and really wish I could find a way to incorporate it into my routine. I have bought them for a few years and never ended up using them. I just flip through them and enjoy the artwork! I think I will try using it for a daily gratitude since its so small. Thanks for the video and as always I enjoy seeing a fellow functional planner!
I love that MomAgenda is working so well for you! I understand the dilemma! 5 year journals are so fun to look back on. I am finishing up my second one this year;) But I have never tried the Common Planner 5 year. Have fun with that!
I have been a daily gal since 2018 but I moved all my work into a digital task manager and didn't need the space so I moved to a weekly. I'm in a (redated) Laurel Denise portrait planner and I am LOVING it. Fingers crossed for a mini version sometime in 2025!
I think your videos are filled with great information. A question, I am now retired after a great career and find I still need to use a planner as an incentive to achieve goals and feel accomplished. I have used Erin Condren for years but it feels a bit limited. I am considering a Passion Planner or a Perfect Planner as a supplement. I am a functional planner, work on occasion as a consultant, and want to focus on goals, accomplishments, etc., but prevent it becoming a full time project an allow for down time. Your recommendation! Suggestion, I would love a video that supports those entering into a retirement life. ❤.
Hi Pam:) I love this video suggestion;) Here is my 2 cents for now...try Passion Planner or Planner Perfect. You are in a new season of life and the only way you will know if you like it and if it will work for you is to give it a good try;) If you try it and it's not for you then the next year you can go back to EC;) I think Planner perfect might be a really fun one because it is so different than other planning systems and I feel lends itself well to the retirement that you have described and the needs you have:) And I would watch some of Jenny's Planner Perfect RUclips vids on her channel - and I have a full playlist of mine as well. Pick out some of your favorite covers of Planner Perfect and choose what inside you want and then do an order with my 20% OFF code: AMANDA20.
I have been using EC softbound weekly view with hourly breakdown since January 1st! I like to see my whole week and I play around with time blocking. I don’t know if I can go back to a coiled planner after working in the bound book!
Hi Amanda, could you please review The Dailee planner. It looks very interesting, but I can’t find anyone who has a really great detailed review. You’re so good at breaking things down, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.❤
My go to is a Happy Planner Big Dashboard planner for my calendar and planning. I keep it at home on my desk. I use an HP Classic Dashboard just for work, and I keep it there. I have a HP Classic Budget for finances I keep at home. I have Frankenplanned a Classic size with discs for projects like parties, home projects, Christmas, trips, crafts etc. I have an HP Mini Vertical for meal planning and grocery lists. I have the whole week on a small 2 page spread It’s in my bag, and it goes with me to the kitchen and to the store. I have another HP Mini Vertical as my daily creative journal. I’ll add a page if I need more space. This one is going to be bigger next year, probably the Classic size. I have a Commit 30 Deluxe for flushing out steps for 2 businesses. I keep a list of all planners, in use and unused on Google Keep. I check it before I buy more planners. And yes, I decorate a lot of my pages.
Hi there so I was just curious about what you do with all the planners you get in pr packages?? No possible way that you utilize them or am I wrong?? I actually had to go the inexpensive route and make my planner out of a 1 subject MEAD notebook and it's been super hard but unfortunately I don't have the funds for my favorites the Hobonichi day free and my EC notebook. It makes me really appreciate a dollar more. I love watching you on RUclips keep up the excellent work. If you do sell any of the extra planners, notebooks, etc. I might be interested!!! Much love A ❤️
Hi April, thanks for the comment! That's awesome that you're being so resourceful-there have definitely been seasons in my life when I couldn't afford to buy a luxury planner. I keep all my planners for follow-up videos, comparisons, and to answer questions until they're out-of-date, but I certainly can't use all of them, and I definitely wouldn't have them if this weren't my job :) I give some away to close friends and family in the area, but I just don't have the time to sell extras here and there. Thanks for your support-have a fantastic day!
I’m looking for a new journal and have watched so many of your videos and gone to Passion planner website. I really like passion planner, but the thing holding me back is that I like my planner to begin in January! Is that weird? I wish they had one like the mid year, that began in January!
Hi Helen. You said you needed a new journal- but you are looking at a Passion Planner. Are you journaling in your planner? Just want to make sure I have the question correct. They will have out their January start planners soon! My guess is September- or at least they will announce the launch date by then of the 2025 planners. And don't forget to use my 10% Off link in the description when you shop there:)
@@AmandasFavorites I do sort of use my planner as a journal. I don't write paragraphs, but do like to write down events of the day in my planner....so in that way I "journal" the day's happenings in the planner's pages.. (Does that make sense?) The Passion planner looks like it has all the space I need to do what I want. So, they DO have a planner that has a January start date and it has just not been released yet???? That will make me happy. I will definitely use your code when I shop!!! :).
PSA for any other UK folks in the comments: Passion Planner shipping is reasonable! I hadn't checked PP shipping before, but the weekly appeals as I'm moving to a new job soon and I think it'll work well. So I figured I'd add a couple of things to cart and just see (honestly with the planner reduced to $29 I was expecting the shipping to be as much as the planner) Turns out . . . £7 (for an A5 planner and some tabs) There's also taxes etc., and unfortunately the site does a straight $ -> £ (so a $29 planner becomes a £29 planner), so the total order for an A5 planner & tabs looks like being £54. So not exactly super-cheap, but for American planners & shipping, really not bad at all. It's fairly slow shipping (7-21 days) but I'm fine with that if it keeps it cheap.
@@AmandasFavorites it's so rare for shipping to be affordable, I got a bit overexcited! But definitely makes it easier to take a chance on the planner.
When we produced this video, my Passion Planner 10 video was scheduled to be released before this. However, we had to change the schedule, so it will be coming out next week!
I am so sorry for the confusion. That video was supposed to come out the week before this one. But I was waiting on a new discount code from Passion Planner and so we had to switch these videos. Now the Passion Planner video is coming out this next week on June 25th with a new 10% off link: passionplanner.rfrl.co/rjv2y
I just sold an EC monthly so I could buy the Katie Daisy for nature and cooking notes 😂 I have never seen her work before, but there’s my color splurge against my MomAgenda clean lines! P.S. Amanda, I tried to use your affiliate link but it wouldn’t let me use Prime shipping, sorry.
I use an EC for my weekly and Daily Grind for my daily. I wish Jenny would have her stickers and washi available on her site. I stopped my sub b o x as I have no use for the tip in cards. e
Love hearing your planning combination:) I know so many people would love to just be able to purchase the washi and stickers. I am guessing it's not the best for financial and or inventory reasons is why they don't do that.
Passion planner is my ride or die planner. I use it for everything and have for years. I use the weekly medium Monday start academic. I also have a Laura Denise project planner for social media content planning. A Moon Phase Studio daily for spiritual journaling. A Clever Fox budget planner and bill organizer for that stuff. And a Happy Planner big with a dashboard layout for my volunteer work at my church. I used that with only 6 months at a time and I hole punch letter size handouts right into it as needed. I switched out smaller rings to make it more compact.

I have a Commit 30 Deluxe for flushing out steps for 2 businesses.
I keep a list of all planners, in use and unused on Google Keep. I check it before I buy more planners. And yes, I decorate a lot of my pages.
I love your Google Keep doc to keep a check on all these!
Hi there so I was just curious about what you do with all the planners you get in pr packages?? No possible way that you utilize them or am I wrong?? I actually had to go the inexpensive route and make my planner out of a
1 subject MEAD notebook and it's been super hard but unfortunately I don't have the funds for my favorites the Hobonichi day free and my EC notebook.
I actually got a 2023 Passion Planner this year and there’s nothing that a bit of white out can’t fixed. I’m so curious how you used yours !!!!
I think I have shared quite a bit in this video and my recent Passion Planner video on how I use it;) Let me know if you have any specific questions;)
I'm using the Penny Pages daily penichi
Could yiu please place the week number on the planner?
I am not sure what you mean by this- please explain:)
Thank you for that information Deborah! That's good to know for those in the UK;)
@@AmandasFavorites it's so rare for shipping to be affordable, I got a bit overexcited! But definitely makes it easier to take a chance on the planner.
Can anyone help me find the passion planner 101 video? I don’t see it?
When we produced this video, my Passion Planner 10 video was scheduled to be released before this. However, we had to change the schedule, so it will be coming out next week!
@@AmandasFavoritesgood to know. I thought I was going crazy. 😅
I cant find the Passion Planner 101 Video you mention? Can someone share the link?
I am so sorry for the confusion. That video was supposed to come out the week before this one. But I was waiting on a new discount code from Passion Planner and so we had to switch these videos. Now the Passion Planner video is coming out this next week on June 25th with a new 10% off link: passionplanner.rfrl.co/rjv2y
Thank you!
Enjoy the Katie Daisy! It really is a beauty! And thanks for letting me know about that link...
When do the 2025 planners usually come out? TY
Some companies like Erin Condren have already released their 2025 planners, but most other companies release theirs in the fall.
I use an EC for my weekly and Daily Grind for my daily. I wish Jenny would have her stickers and washi available on her site. I stopped my sub b o x as I have no use for the tip in cards.

Sounds like an amazing system-something for every need!
