Et surtout ils ont eu le GÉNIE DE REPRODUIRE LA PLUS EXTRAORDINAIRE VERSION JAMAIS ENREGISTRÉE DE CE CHEF D'ŒUVRE ABSOLU ( la version 1977 du live and dangerous qui enterre toutes les autres versions jamais enregistrées par son extraordinaire feeling et sa perfection mélodique) GIGANTESQUE FABULEUX PRODIGIEUX AHURISSANT EXTRAORDINAIRE ET VERTIGINEUX !!!!!!!!!!!!! Un extraordinaire hommage à ce fabuleux groupe historique dans les annales du ROCK et au génie qu'était le regretté PHIL LYNOTT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MONUMENTAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too slow, doesn’t walk like the studio version does, and somebody needs to let the singer know it’s not a soul song, the pain in the vocal is not even close.. There’s only 1 Phil Lynott.
Finally! Someone who tells it like it is. Why in the world nobody plays this song the way is supposed to sound. Phil himself asked Rob. to play solo parts exactly as Gary had on the studio version. What came out of the Live version is very well played and decent, no questions about it. Unfortunately it lacks the elements that only the studio version will deliver EVERY SINGLE TIME you listen to it.
Slightly disagree - this is close to the arguably equally-definitive Live and Dangerous version tempo and groove. Both guitarists nail quite a few elements of Scott and Robbo's playing, including tone, attack and vibrato as well as the actual licks. Robbo plays some really tasty stuff in the verses including some nice maj 7 voicings and generally unusual chords and chord fragments, which are all present here. Singer really singing around the beat (not locked to it) which was a big Phil thing too and adds a cool dynamic. Overall pretty killer imo.
I don't know what you mean that it's not a soul song. Phil had bags of black Irish soul. Everyone has their favourite version of this but these boys do a great job. The sweetest version is with Gary on the BBC recordings.
