No, a lot of players like the combination. Fender used to make a Mark Hoppus Signature Bass that had a jazz body with a precision neck and precision pickup. I like both necks, sometimes I want a thick neck and sometimes I like the thin jazz neck.

I have a jazz bass except it's a p bass body and p bass neck. Sounds thick but sadly doesn't cut too well in the mix
