AYYYY..been a while, guys!! Good to see ya..I was just thinking yesterday "where are these geezers??" and boom there you are LOL Lovely basses. I'm a P bass kinda guy and the example you have here sounds superb. Every bassist needs a Jazz AND a P-Bass. They'll pretty much have you covered.
You both made an excellent point, that these are much more affordable than a proper vintage bass! Now I have to console my wailing wallet... Also, I might have to convert one of my 2-pickup basses to concentric Vol/Tone controls like that '62 J-Bass. Great video!
I’ve tried to find a better instrument than my CS 60s jazz bass. So many instruments with neck through construction or 6 bolt mitre joints and various other modern ideas. The CS just beats them all. It has so much character and resonance. It appears a master built instrument really is that.
You guys are great, this is so much fun also to watch your videos even during 25 minutes, I don't see the time passing ! ;-) Thanks for your time Mr King.
I was fortunate enough to get that 66 Jazz in Daphne blue. Fantastic bass. Expensive, but I have no regrets. I made an unboxing video posted on my channel if you care to see what you get out of the box.
You guys are phenomenal players! One criticism would be I would have liked to hear Lee play above the neck pick up while demoing these especially when highlighting the neck ups sound
Lmaoo i agree i do not understand how people can make a bass look that bad without putting a belt sander to it 😂😂 i have a 15 yr old bass that has been to 100+ gigs and still looks new!
It helps ease the pain when you get that first nick in your pristine bass. Instead of selling the bass, it just blends in. Can’t tell you how many pristine basses I see up for sale that have a ding in the finish to the wood.
Only one Precision and well,.. it's a P-Bass. I love it. For the Jazzes, I love all, but my favourite is the last, the 62 stack knobs. Thank you for the demo
Beautiful basses! Tasty playing as always. Way tot go lads! Can you tell me why in all sorts of relicing the neck is always without finish. I just don't like that and it doesn't always fit the level of relicing.
Does the back/bridge pickup sound lower in volume than the front pickup? I just got my first Jazz Bass and after having used a P Bass for many years, I don't know a lot (yet) about J Basses. The bridge pickup of mine sounds really low sometimes.
I'm wondering why that '61 P isn't designated as a '59, considering that the gold anodized brushed aluminum pickguard and slab rosewood fretboard combination was unique to some, but not all, Precisions made in '59.
Bad or a Good Idea: NAMM switches to more of a ComicCon type event with people showing up as their favorite musician. More Q&A Panels of Brands and various companies, RUclipsrs, celebrity musicians, etc.
There’s no way around it, Custom Shop is the real deal. If you are looking for the absolute perfection, there’s nothing like one of those beautiful instruments.
Fender should find a way to build a new design high end 24 feet bass to add to it bass collection, these are very good basses but technology and design from others companies are building much better basses...I've been a Fender jazz bass player since 1975 so I believe in their product but on the market are a few basses for less than the price of these that are great basses.
@@eveythingthatsadam No, it isn't. NC lacquers "age" because they are unstable. Paint manufacturers add a stabiliser package to delay the onset of aging. Premature aging will destroy that package. It may result in a finish that looks sixty years old now, but in ten to twenty years time that finish will be a brown, flaking mess.
I really don't understand the love affair with "relicing", its like buying pre-ripped jeans. If I buy an instrument I want it pristine and I'll wear it in myself. Also, if most players remove the pickup and bridge covers, why are they there in the first place? Do they serve some purpose besides the obvious protection function?
I wonder how much extra you pay for a beaten up bass? I'm probably the exception here but I prefer my basses to look pristine I even polish them before a jam but these basses do sound awesome , however there is no way I would pay extra for one beaten up
Thesw basses would be so sweet if they didn't ruin the finish and up charge us because of it lol. How does that work? Just use your guitar and it will look like that down the road if you try really hard NOT to take care of it at all... LOVE YOU GUYS but I do not like new basses or guitars that look old
Great to see the guys back, that opening jam definitely had a Motown/James Jamerson vibe and it was awesome
Yes! Thank you for mentioning James Jamerson. He was one cool cat. 😎
Absolutely, been a little thin on the bass ground lately, come on and spoil us!
At the start, I thought Al Jackson, Jr/Duck Dunn lock.
Stax/Donald Duck Dunn
That blue jazz is insane 😍
All I want for Christmas is that blue Jazz bass 😍
The struggle when you already have 2 blue guitars, but just want more blue!
Me too
You take the blue, I'll take the white. 👍
@@lfconley Me 3. That is soooo nice.
I'm not partial to blue basses but that one's the bomb.
And starting off with fender J's hell yes!
So happy to see you back, lads! Keep on truckin’
Yes they are back and kicking sh#t. Love these two.
Great to see you back.
Edit: 17:05 lovely playing
Edit edit: And what an outro jam!
I'm a guitarist, but I love Nathan and Lee so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These bass videos are so much fun!
I've missed these chaps!

Great to see you back!!!!!
I just bought that '66 J bass. It is incredible!
Epic bassline. I mean omg the bluesbrothers are back!
More “all about the bass” videos PLEASE!!!!!!!!
Thank you
Brilliant !!! Awesome bass work by these mates as always !
YESSSS!!!! Glad the guys are back!
What a comeback video!
Finally! ALL ABOUT THE BASS IS BACK!
You’re welcome…
Great stuff guys! you are having too much fun - love it!

Beautiful basses. And this just in: you’re both better bassists than me. Then again, one of you plays with Frost*.
My favorite bass channel awesome job more soon pls✌
I was fortunate enough to get that 66 Jazz in Daphne blue. Fantastic bass. Expensive, but I have no regrets. I made an unboxing video posted on my channel if you care to see what you get out of the box.
Guys. C'mon. That is more wicked than the average Joe can take. I get goosebumps every time I listen to you two guys. And those Fenders. OMG.
Still no purple Danish P-Bass?
Gentlemen the playing in this video is off the scale!! Epic..
You guys are phenomenal players! One criticism would be I would have liked to hear Lee play above the neck pick up while demoing these especially when highlighting the neck ups sound
I literally just bought a Jazz Bass like 3 days ago...wish you had put this video out then lol...
Great to have the guys back.
Yes!! They’re back!!
THE BOYS ARE BACK...... IN ANDERTONS ! ! !
Finally!!!! thank you guys
Welcome back!!! Now that Nathan & Lee are back together, order has been restored in the universe!!! YEAH!!!
I really like the guitar videos.
I love the bass ones.
Chapeau chaps!
Andertons bass videos are the BEST. We needed a Nathan and Lee fix.
I could listen to that end jam all day
It may just be me... but I spend a LOT of time and effort keeping my basses looking brand NEW. This whole "Road Worn" concept is beyond me. 🤔
Me also
It's just you two. Imagine spending time and effort keeping a bass looking new, instead of using time and effort playing the thing ;)
@@olavjorvik94 yeah, taking care of your shit is just so not hip

Selling quality instruments, while jamming bass all day. Guess who's not hating life. Cheers!
Great video and playing guys , Thanks for this ........................ps. I HATE COVERS SO BAD !
I have 82 Fullerton 62RI Jazz and 88 ( first year Corona) 62RI precision both pre custom shop..
so I’m ok but thanks for the demo 😂
Hail all bout the bass 🙌
Yay, back!
Not really a fan of the relicking stuff. They do sound obviously good and it's good to see the guys back.
Beautiful basses! Tasty playing as always. Way tot go lads! Can you tell me why in all sorts of relicing the neck is always without finish. I just don't like that and it doesn't always fit the level of relicing.
They're back!!! 😁😁😁😁
Oh my word those are beautiful. They're so nicely aged and sound great.
The guitars aren't bad either...
Best comment! 🤣
Muy buenos! El verde me encanta el sonido!! Saludos desde Argentina.
Nice to see you back guys, is the stock back as well?
#1. great to have you back. stay back this time.
#2. i am going online immediately to find and buy a music man coffee mug.
Lee, u're definitely my favourite bass player !
One day I'm hoping Nathan slips in some It Bites or Frost* bass lines :-)
yeah there back!!
The color of the blue bass and the headstock don't match, "unmatching" headstock?
I love the ashtrays
WOW can you guys play!!! Very talented!!!
The Return of the [B A S S] King(s)
Love the intro!
Happy as a pig in shit right now. Playing my parts P using my Mustang Micro to watch and listen to you two while having a go and playing along.
I love Jazz Bass !
Nice to see people demonstrating bass guitars playing actual grooves and phrases instead of the tapping and slapping garbage thats so prevalent today.

Great sounding instruments and players. Any idea which drumloops system they are using ?
GarageBand lmao
Logic Pro x
:-( this is a Mac only soft ! So Logic Pro x provided a bunch a drum loops, are did you program them ? Thanks
For now I use MT Power DrumKit 2, with Mixcraft. It comes with few grooves, and I hesitate to get a BeatBuddy, maybay a future video subjet !
Man you guys shred you should really be on records!!
Bad or a Good Idea: NAMM switches to more of a ComicCon type event with people showing up as their favorite musician. More Q&A Panels of Brands and various companies, RUclipsrs, celebrity musicians, etc.
What is the thing on the pickgaurd just under strings? I can't find anything on it
Its called a tugbar for playing w your thumb. If it's on top, its a thumbrest.
There’s no way around it, Custom Shop is the real deal. If you are looking for the absolute perfection, there’s nothing like one of those beautiful instruments.
How much less money if you order the same bass and no relic ?
Who are these guys? Great players!
Very very very good🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍
The CDC has indicated masks are not required if they obstruct bass face.
did they really say that?
Is the heavy relic 3 tone sunburst P bass still available?
Is a 2/multiple piece/s body better than a 1 piece body? I always thought 1 piece is better
Please, why not a pickup selector on the concentric knob Jazz? Why??
Man these guys sure know how to jam
What amps are you using? I love the tone, but it's hard to get it without knowing what amps you're using! :)
Maybe they are using those TC Electronics amps behind them? Maybe not :-)

When are you guys going to cover some Guild Basses?
Legend has it that these basses were based upon the basic premise that any bassist based upon ability could basically play them.
I see what you did there!
I hope they included a good stabiliser package in those aged NC lacquers or they will be in pieces in a few years.
That's the point...
@@eveythingthatsadam No, it isn't. NC lacquers "age" because they are unstable. Paint manufacturers add a stabiliser package to delay the onset of aging. Premature aging will destroy that package. Sorry.I can only appreciate genuine relic finish. Not artificially produced. But I do appreciate how long that would take.

little green bag!
I don’t get the whole relic thing 🤔 nevertheless , they sound great
Wow !! 🎸🎸
Hey. Look! A Musicman mug.
The white one could do some damage.
It took them 3 months to do another all about the bass video. But i ain't mad tho 😂
Mmmh, maybe because there was a pandemic going on? We are not mad tho😜
@@andertons LMAO, i did not expect a reply from you guys. But hey, I see you're both ok and well. I'm happy :D
All about the bass is awesome. But what the hell was that intro lol
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah YOU TWO !!!!! Hehehehehe the beeeeeeest
Quite a coup getting Jim Davidson on to demo basses.
I wonder how much extra you pay for a beaten up bass? I'm probably the exception here but I prefer my basses to look pristine I even polish them before a jam but these basses do sound awesome , however there is no way I would pay extra for one beaten up
Anyone know who this Lee is? Is he anyhow related to the Captain?
Pretty sure Captain Lee isn’t the only Lee in the world.... 🤔
All people called Lee aren't related...
Lee and his brother Lee and their dad Lee 😜
