The best thumping Thursday ever. Norm should hire that guy. LOL
Worst ever. Enough with the guest hosts. Give them separate bits if you must as you've always done, but this isn't GotD worthy.
Admiral you must have watched a different video. LOL
mark hated bass guitars. So how do you figure this isn't guitar of the day Worthy.
@@guitarocd9984 Because my ears work?
Are you sure LOL
What a great surprise !
My buddy Rudy Sarzo !

No fair! Now you can sell it because Rudy S played it! And he’s right - bass has ALWAYS been cool - and he’s one of the reasons! Nice move to bring in a ringer!

There is no substitute for enthusiasm. When Rudy first picked up this gorgeous bass and curled those fingers into his playing position, you could see the passion in his eyes. One of the best, if not The Best bass show and tell done on GOTD. Mr. Sarzo would be a welcomed guest for a Thumpin Anyday, at Norman's Rare Guitars!!
Rudy Sarzo seems to be a very down to earth person. Such a nice guy.
Rudy should write a book. His experiences and knowledge needs to be preserved.
He did

Jen & Lemmo, this was way koool! Rudy was right-on in everything. Glad to hear his input!...Lemmo, now, back to you, bro!!!...
Immmmmmmmpressive. First thumpin' thursday I've watched where I wasn't only interested in the set list entries. Way to go Rudy!
Love the passion and knowledge. He made that bass sing again.
Always enjoy Thumpin' Day!
Great episode! It was so nice to hear an experienced guy talk about all the details of these vintage instruments. Glad he spent a while at it and didn't rush through!
Rudy with the Knowledge man. Wish he swung that bass around like in the Quiet Riot days
If only that "knowledge" was factual.
@@AdmiralQuality ... Well, where is he wrong Sailor?
@@michaelgallagher3640 For one, Nitrocellulose lacquer isn't "illegal". (The *solvent* , acetone, is in *only in California* , *only in large quantities* and *only very lately* -- they use an alternative, but either way that all evaporates off anyway.)
The slab board has nothing to do with international sales or neck stability. That was just how they did it. The laminate board was to save money/materials.
The necks don't "petrify". That's ridiculous. The guitar would be faulty and impossible to setup if that was the case.
That's just off the top of my head without forcing myself to watch it again.
@@AdmiralQuality ... Thx...
Admiral you don't know what you're talkin about. The lacquer of today is different from the lacquer of the 50s and 60s. He is correct that lacquer is illegal. Do some homework.
Best.Episode.Ever. (Thumpin and even it's a top5 of all GOTD)
Mike, you are kicking serious butt here brother, can't wait for the next episode every day.
Damn.........That was AWESOME!!!
So Cool to see Rudy, Great introduction to the instrument, and
of Course watching him play. As
Always, Thanks to All at Norman's
Rare Guitars...............🎸💚
Rudy was refreshing. This was the first time I have really enjoyed Thumpin' Thursday. I appreciate accomplished professionals and their take on things and issues. I value their input. I got more out of this one video than the 30 or so Bass GOTDs that preceded it! Thanks folks!
A true legend. Outstanding talent and one of the nicest humans ever.
This was so cool! Bring in a guy who can bring in out the tones of a bass and knows his stuff inside and out. Great episode.
The true respect thumping thursday deserve. Love Sarzo and love that p bass.
Man... Rudy Sarzo = Legend.....
Makes me want to play! Great episode.
Living Legend! Always cool and down to earth. Quite Riot, White Snake, Ozzy, The Guess Who, Dio
Think he even played with Blue Oyster Cult for a bit. The ultimate “gun for hire”
Jason West Have you seen Rudy in Hired Gun on Netflix?
Tat2Dragons just watched it last week. Great documentary!
Jason West Nice! I also thought it was great. 👍
Tat2Dragons found out Billy Joel is a real jerk!
Rudy is a Legend and a really great person! Love this episode!
Nice !! I'll bet that one is sold already ... Rudy knows his stuff. Cool getting all the info, thanks to Rudy and everyone at Norms !!!
Any other bassists on here smiling from ear-to-eat? These last two Thumpin’ Thursdays have had me so happy. I’m so proud to play bass! Please, keep bringing on legends like Rudy!
I officially like bass day now!!! Check out Rudy giving history on the instrument and everything. Mark should be proud
Best Thumpin' Thursday ever. I've been a fan of Rudy Sarzo since his Quiet Riot days and not only was it great to see him play, but it was also very educational. I hope he can come back for another one at some point.
I thought this was a perfect episode! Great seeing the passion for the instrument, and telling EVERYTHING about it in and out. Covered all from the fretboard to the lacquer on it, which i thought was awesome. The demo was great too, shows how well rounded the instrument is!
Finally a guest that's worthwhile
Rudy Sarzo = awesome bass player... but more importantly, awesome guy!
This man is amazing
