I just manually edited the subtitles for Spanish and English, so you will find those options under the Gear icon next "CC" button on the video. Use the "CC" button to toggle captions on or off. Thanks for joining me on this journey down this cool street in my Neighborhood.
Thanks for the tour! 🙏☺

Very good videography I just came back from there Sunday and didnt recognize places I visited.

Muchas Gracias 🙂👍
Thank you very much for the tour....🙏☺
You are very welcome Jennifer😀
Great video to watch before a visit. Cant wait to be there in a day!
Bienvenida, as the say here “ Uvita waits for you!”🙂
Great tour! Thank you. 🚲
You are very welcome, thanks for watching 🙂👍
Great places to visit in Uvita! Enjoyed your tour and Google Earth recap. Will check it out in the Spring.
Thanks Richard, there is much to explore here. Enjoy your trip.🙂👍
I just left there last week. I was there for five days I was in San Jose. I wish that I would’ve seen your video before because I would’ve loved to have gone to that town.😢
Hopefully next time you will get down to Uvita, it is definitely different than San Jose. Pura Vida🤙
Thanks, we have been in those stores and all the area when we first moved here and stayed in Ojachal. I too thought it was a chicken store 😆🤣. I have a couple favorite restaurants there .
It really is a nice little street. I am glad I am not the only one that thought Gallo was a restaurant 🤣
@@CostaRicaStory 😆🤣😂
Great tour. We were there a few months ago. We didn’t see a lot of the things you showed. Guess we’ll have to go back. 😂
Awesome. Will be there this December
You have so much to look forward to. I love being here in December when it is cold where i used to live.....but really any month is awesome here.😁
I like these walk-thru or drive-thru videos. Give a great impression! Thanks for this one!
Thanks, there really is a lot to see here, glad you enjoyed it.
One of the best walk/ride thru videos I have seen!! Thanks. 😊
Muchas gracias Maureen, I am happy you enjoyed it. 🙂 I plan to do more of these kinds of guides, they are a lot of fun to do.
Excellent tour of the restaurants and services in Uvita. Nice to see what’s available so close to each other. Thanks Ed.
Thanks Don, you were one of the ones that wanted to see more of the neighborhood , so thanks for the suggestion 🙂👍
I really appreciate that. How much for a massage at the Spa? 😁
@@donmorrow1923 I think they have a 45 minute massage for $35 and you can choose the style/intensity. Thanks for the reminder, i am due for a massage come to think of it.
😅 Se conoces cosa nueva de uvita
Awesome. Thanks for sharing all of this detail, Ed.
Con Gusto Dennis, it is a special little street.
Unique
Very nice to see the actual town in detail. Congrats!
There are so many little businesses here, there is so much more to explore.
Thanks
You are very welcome. Con Gusto.
Lindo mi país Costa Rica te amo.
Excellent video, Ed! You've included several of my favorite places....Los Laurelles, Mosaic, Indomitos and Tagua Cafe, but now I'm inspired to expand my horizons and try out a few more! Would you please consider doing a similar tour of Bahia? I'd love to get a closer look at everything there is to offer in Bahia Ballena. Muchas gracias, Ed. Keep 'em coming! :)
You must be a mind reader because that is one of the places I want to feature within the next couple of weeks and it is an area i have gotten to know very well. I do an extensive bike ride through Bahia at least 4 times a week and there are so many hidden gems there off the beaten track. I think there will be several videos coming from this area 😁🤙
@@CostaRicaStory Thank you, Ed! And BTW, I am a bit of a mind reader. 😉🦋😉

Well awright! Thank you sir👊💯💯💯💯😁
Is that a GoPro strapped to you on the bicycle? Chest mount? Great clarity on the video and audio.
Yes, GoPro, chest mount.🚴♂️
Great video! We're moving to Uvita in June Can you do a walk-through of the Surf shop??
Thanks MISLED. Which surf shop? 🤙 There are a ton of them scattered around , but they are on definitely on the list.
cool video...did you ride the bike into those restaurants ??.....also they pronounce calle as such- ki yea....to mean street....wifey is a tica from Sarchi....
Thanks, I always appreciate help with pronunciation, I sill struggle on a daily basis. You could pretty much ride into most of these places, but I was on foot for those segments.
This is fantastic! We will be staying in Uvita next February for at least a couple of weeks and I am learning so much from your videos. No doubt we will be visiting a lot of the places you highlighted in this video. Also looking to see which beaches you recommend best for swimming. We are staying just above Playa Hermosa but plan to explore a lot and don't mind a good drive. Now back to checking out your other videos!
Thank you so much Carol , i am happy to be of help. I have a guide for the whale tail area coming next and also one for playa ventanas, two of my favorites beaches for sure.🏝🏄♀️🐋☀️
@@CostaRicaStory That's great! Looking forward to it. It will be our 4th time to CR but our first to the Uvita area so very excited to explore a new area. Thanks for all you do!
@@carols1406 There is a lot to see and do here, that is for sure.🙂
Nice video, we just moved here 2 weeks ago with Sarah's help and haven't discovered all those places. We are looking for hiking trails in the area of Ojochal to Dominical, let me know if your familiar with any. Thanks Wendy
Thanks Wendy. The only hiking i have done is up the Bejuco road, but it is not really a hiking trail.
Great video! Very informative! How is wireless service out there? Any issues with electrical outlets in hotels out in Uvita? For charging purposes.
Thanks Ghosty. Wifi can vary, and is definitely not as robust as it was for me when i lived in the states. Outlet type is the same as in the USA, but we are prone to power drops and surges, so surge protection can be a good thing to have. I talk a little about the utilities in a video I just uploaded on the pros and cons of life in Uvita also.
9:20 On this part of the road the sidewalk is on the left. HAHAHA as people are walking in the road on the right.
Lol, you are right. The street is kind of funny because on part of the street the sidewalk is on the left and then as the road continues, the sidewalk changes to the opposite side. Most people make a strategic road crossing to keep with the sidewalk around where the butcher shop is, but the brave people just take their chances in the road.😅
Hello, one of your videos in the grocery store, no chilled milk ? You have to buy it warm ?
On another note, is it possible to go to panama to buy a car cheaper and bring it in ? As the cars are so expensive in CR, either way ill need one..Planning a move to Ojochal, Uvita, looking at properties now.., ill be watching alot of your videos to get more acquainted with the area better. I have been to, a short time only..Thanx !!
There is also chilled milk in addition to the room temperature milk, but there are no refrigerated eggs that i know of.
There really is no way of getting around the tax, if you buy a car in Panama you would be hit with the import tax bringing it back to Costa Rica.
It's really a bus stop to use bathroom/ but good video
The Uvita infomation center? Yes, they do all kinds of business there😅
Hi, you said you lived at that hotel for 6 momths. Could you tell me how much did it cost you. thank you (I would like to visit the town)
Depending on the season a rental in this area would generally range from $700 per month and up. Short term would be more expensive.
Heading to Uvita this week. By chance are there any decent hardware stores down there? I don't want to pack my sand spikes for surf fishing so I was wondering if I can by pvc pipe down there.
Yes there are two very good hardware stores in Uvita, Iguana verde(take your first right after the rio uvita bridge south bound) and there is another very good one right after the Colonial gas station on rt 34 , past Pizza Time on the south side of town, left side of the road headed south.
Last question best currency exchange . Airport or in town ?
@@mman9306 I dont use either, i have a no fee debit card and use the local ATM. I have heard the airport rates is not good, but have no personal experience with that. Safe travels✈️
@@mman9306use any ATM. There is a BCR branch in uvita
Does doc vargas still play guitar in the local band?
I didn’t know she did. Interesting.
@@CostaRicaStory the doc in the band was a dude. About 2017.
@@purplepenguin1024 Ah ok, the current Doc Vargas is a woman, I don’t know if they are related.
