I never owned a MacBook Air. I thought the only downside of a MacBook Air was getting used to macOS. I avoided Macs because I felt way more familiar with Windows and Android. I know I could go to Apple Store for free classes but it's so noisy in there. It doesn't seem Apple offers any free online classes on their operating system.Macs might have a higher adoption rate if they did. Any way, lately Apple's business approach is Field of Dreams. They think if they build it, we will simply come. Believing it's sufficient to build devices without any explanation or marketing to consumers. They're like if you have to ask then the product isn't for you. Okay

@Eeveewashere I bought an M2 Mac Mini 7 Months ago. I don't like MacOs, but with Googling you will get used to it pretty quickly. But from my experience, Windows is still easier to use for multitasking and common ui tasks. MacOs has many issues nobody talks about or people just ignore it.
STOP comparing laptops by their thickness and weight. To get a laptop that much slim companies make their laptops less efficient and more useless in long runs. This isn't what we should expect from a powerful and stable laptop.

Smoking? Ah you mean they will burn and smoke.. just watch carefully the provided data from Microsoft.. it's 7dBm louder and 5-10°C hotter.. so it has a cooler and still hotter..? Sure it will use more power.. because that is the only way to reach higher temp with cooler like the fanless device.. by the way if it's use way more power that also mean pretty weak battery life (at least compared to Macbook, it still can beat Intel, but between the 5-8hours and 15-20hours there is a huge gap..)
By the way Snapdragon need almost the same amount of power core (12 power cores) like the M1 Ultra (16 power cores), but Snapdragon only comprtitive against the basic M chip with 4 power cores..
Also the 45 TOPS in Snapdragon is measured in INT4 (32bit), the 38 TOPS in Macbook is measured in INT8 (64bit), there is 59% diff between INT4 and INT8.. so Macbook have more than 60 TOPS in INT4 and even the iPhone 15 35 TOPS laughing on the Snapdragon, because that phone also have 55 TOPS in INT4 (so in the same metric where Snapdragon have 45 TOPS..)

Yea, the Surface Laptop Studio, but it’s not an all around well laptop like the new SL7. Battery is really bad on it and it’s really bulky.

I think the top of the line Surface Laptops will be comparable to the Macbook Pro, not the Air.
600 Nits vs 500 Nits of brightness is really nice on the Surface Laptops, but we don`t know how good their displays work in terms of reflections. (Macbooks are not bad in this regard, and my Surface Laptop 3 from a few years ago was like Mirror, if not used in complete darkness.
But I really like to see that 16GB of Ram is standard on the Surface Laptops (it`s a joke for laptops >$700 to have 8GB of Ram in 2024 imo)
It`s nice to finally see smaller bezels on the SL 7, especially without a notch!
I hope the compatability of Windows Programs and Apps will be high with the Snapdragon-ARM-SOC-
Apple`s Rosetta was not that bad in this regard.

I prefer the MacBook keyboard with slightly dished key caps. They have a much better typing feel, than a keyboard with flat key caps. In the video, there's no light deviations on the, Surface's key; indicating they're flat. This easy, but effective feature is forgotten on most laptops; in fact, my Legion 5 Pro 16, like many from Lenovo, has dished key caps.

I change my all ecosystem to Apple and will definitely not go back to Windows. With Windows what is announced is sometimes different to what happens in real life.

And than there was Recall… But even without the iGPU performance of the Snapdragon is not enough for my needs. As a Unreal Engine developer I have to stick with my crappy x86 plus RTX toaster and my Apple Max machine.
