Andrew will NEVER dominate Shane's natural humor and swag.
When is this Shane guy gonna do or say something funny? The only funny thing i’ve ever heard him say was that “Catholics created civilization”, but he was actually serious.

Denzel is close to being the goat @@Tonynotsoprano

Daniel Day Lewis is an insanely good actor with great range... hes definitly one of the best
Leo is the best
@fermisurface2616 agreed
While people might debate about their favorite. No one can name an actor BETTER than Daniel day Lewis.
It’s crazy that anybody would suggest Tom Cruise is a better actor than Daniel Day Lewis
Gary Oldman is probably the best.
Did Andrew really say Tom Cruise is a better actor than Daniel Day Lewis? Seriously?
or Robert De Niro. LOL
Even if you were defending Cruise, DDL is the last person you should say he’s better than if you want any kind of credibility
He laughed when DDL was brought up
Tom Cruise has like 20+ great movies under his belt
20 great movies? @@davidcolorado1968
Man Schulz was at an all time low on this ep
Id bet Denzel wasnt even on Schultz mind until Shane said something
When confronted with someone clearly funnier and more honest about who he is Schulz will crumble every time
Schulz really peaked during Covid…this podcast is a perfect representation of people believing they’re own hype. Rip flagrant
Their*
Well done 👏🏻
Imagine ever liking Flagrant and then talking about taste making lmao
Why does everyone hate on him? Just Annoying?
@@TwoToneTonyLee his ego has gone through the roof. Schulz is a very talented comic, but he’s so lost in the moment he can’t picture a comic on the same level as him or better who is also pretty down to earth. Everytime they have Shane on their podcast, it’s almost as if they’re trying desperately to have him stoop down to their level arrogance
Damn Shane is too fucking real for these guys it’s awesome. Straight up just cutting through the bullshit and saying you guys are triggered because Denzel isn’t number one on my list.
Hot take: John C. Reilly is a top 5 actor in the world. He can do anything all of the other serious actors can do (Boogie Nights, Chicago, Gangs of New York etc.) But none of those guys could do what he did in Step Brothers, Talladega Nights or his other comedy hits. He may not be a leading man but for talent as an actor no one can fuck with him.
If you haven’t seen walk hard, it’s funnier than step brothers. It’s my favorite comedy ever
He's very underrated.
I agree 100%. I'd also put John Goodman up there as well.
My favorite movies with John C. Reilly are The Aviator and Cedar Rapids. It seems comedic actors are often the better in serious roles than vice versa: I think Adam Sandler and Robin Williams are two of the best examples. I think a good example of the opposite, a more serious actor killing it in comedic roles is John Turturro.
He’s also great in Carnage
There’s a difference between a movie star and a great actor
Not sure if these guys get that incredibly basic concept.
Imagine if they let Shane finish a sentence 😒
Yeah that’s annoying when ppl do that
Gary Oldman is a seriously underrated actor.
Leo in The Departed is insanely good. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is also a movie where Leo displays unbelievably great acting prowess
Don’t forget what’s eating Gilbert grape 🌚 and fr my favorite- basketball diaries
Leo is great but I would never put him in the goat discussion personally.
@@tykeboy16 what 3 guys come to mind when you think goat? Denzel? De Niro?
@@christianolson8543 Jack Nicholson, Daniel Day Lewis, De Niro (could pass on him as top 3 but def one of the goats), Pesci (personally one of my favorites but probably not enough variation to be considered top 3 by most people), Waltz is great, Samuel L Jackson I think is a bit underrated when it comes to goat discussion, Denzel, Pacino.
I definitely understand if someone puts Leo in their top 3. Personally there's just something about a lot of his performances that take me out of his movies. I can't quite put my finger on it. He's an incredible actor for sure I just can't put him in my top 3 (probably not even my personal top 10)
If I had to pick a top 3 off the top of my head I'd go this in order
1. Nicholson
2. Pacino
3. Pesci
Leo in Django blows those other roles away
No mention of Philip Seymour Hoffman but he was definitely one of the greatest actors in my lifetime
He was more of a Supporting actor - not leading except in Capote
His son on Licorice Pizza is great too
Schulz thinks he's this higher level being that has the ability to be right in the middle on every controversial topic
Daniel Day-Lewis is levels above any other actor. Its not even close.
I think Joaquin Pheonix has the potential to be on his level, and I have a personal bias for Dicaprio and De Niro
Yeah Schulz is dumb 😂
Day-Lewis and Gary Oldman sit at the tip-top of the rankings if you ask me.
Schultzie needs to quit the nose snow before Podcasting😅 Shane handles it perfectly, calling him out for getting triggered over Denzel and losing the plot entirely 😭
He was triggered from the jump. He took it to heart when Shane talked about something he thought was an original discussion they had together.
Daniel Day Lewis wins an Oscar every time he does a movie
Oscars don’t mean anything but I do agree that DDL might be the GOAT
@@dudeman5166 I mean I agree but they always get it right when DDL is up for it lol.
Meryl Streep gets nominated every time she does a movie. This shit is political
@@Galero15 That’s because Actresses and Actors get different awards. And Meryl Streep is MILES above most other female actresses in terms of talent which is why she has so many Oscars. The competition is less for her compared to male actors.
Willem dafoe is up there for me. He doesn’t get mentioned enough, but Ralph Fiennes is also a dark horse
Dafoe is a legendary actor and was great in Northman his character was the stand out one for me. He also played a legendary green goblin, 10/10 actor.
Gillis has entered his unbothered phase
I think that automatically kicks in around your 5th bud light
I like that Shultz is getting the reputation he deserves.
John Q being a better movie than Once Upon a Time is wild
Laughable.
QT is over the hill long time ago brother and ofc I am not saying that John Q is anything good@@johnmorris8444
Andrew picking Tom cruise of DDL is the most outrageous thing I’ve ever heard. I just lost all respect for this man’s opinion on art.
Tom cruise as Les Grossman in Tropic Thunder is some of the greatest acting.
Your bar is low 😂
Funny to watch this because Leo and Denzel are both my favorite actors. I was upset they didn’t mention Denzel in remember the titans or Leo in inception, especially the scene where he’s trying to talk his wife off of the ledge and he watches her kill herself. That scene was one of the most powerful acting moments I’ve ever seen.
Leo in shutter island when he sees his wife looking at the water was crazy acting ! Denzel in was training day as well 🔥 both my 2 goats
With those two actors I just enjoy watching them do their thing.
Not mentioning Shutter Island is wild
Daniel Day Lewis' last movie,by Paul Thomas Anderson is called Phantom Thread and it's fucking fabulous
Watched it a couple of weeks ago, i got just as hooked on that movie as There Will Be Blood and Gangs of New York. Amazing movie. Plus my brother has extreme aspergers which made the movie even better to relate to.
Al being blown away by Shane saying “I think Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is better than John Q.” is insane. A literal masterpiece vs. a good Denzel performance in an otherwise forgettable film. 🤦🏽♂️
you are right, but to be fair, denzel is absolutely incredible in john q
Once upon sucked objectively
@@jj7546no.
@@jj7546if you look at the reviews you’ll notice you used “objectively” very wrong lol
John Q was by FAR more important, more impactful, more relevant, powerful and emotional than whatever tf that other movie was about. FUUUUUCK hollywood, why would I watch a movie about that? I haven't seen John Q since the early 2000's or some shit and it's STILL impactful and emotional to this day.
Being in the biggest blockbusters and being the best actor aren’t the same thing. It’s like having the most hot 100 songs and being the best rapper
For my money, Brando not being mentioned is criminal. DDL, De Niro, agree on Denzel, Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Jack Nicholson.
This is why Gillis left New York. I guess it is a podcast but it's hard to believe anybody believes anything but has to act like they believe everything.
Shane is so damn likable
If we are talking resume, De Niro. If we are talking raw acting talent, Daniel Day-Lewis and it isn't even close.
Philip Seymour Hoffman deserves a mention. I'll also be the rapscallion that throws Kevin Spacey into the mix.
Keep spacey, the fuck ? Lol there are dozens of way better actors than that creep. I've called him a creep for 20 years lol way before his whole gay rapist thing became public
I heard Spacey is only directing school plays now.
For them to go this entire segment without mentioning Joaquin Phoenix is a crime
Nah he's one of the best for sure and underrated but not the best.
Marlon Brando, Paul Newman, Sean Connery, Al Pacino, Robert Deniro, DiCaprio, Daniel Day Lewis
Robert Duvall, Gene Hackman...
Saying Tarantino doesn’t have black people in his films. Like Samuel L Jackson doesn’t exist
“You took *our* conversation?!” YA WE GET IT ANDREW!!
Andrew should play love action Waluigi
johnny depp, jack nick, Daniel day lewis, Leo, Denzel, Robert Diniro, Christian bale, tom hanks, marlon brando
DDL is at the top of *actor* list. As is Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Movie star top is Tom Cruise. It's different.
PSH was a supporting actor in most movies. He was great, but great as a side character.
Imo it’s Leonardo. Dude has killed every roll he’s ever been in and has never had to resort to superhero movies or whatever the big thing is in Hollywood to maintain status. Plus it doesn’t hurt Wolf of Wall Street and the Departed are both in my top 3 all time.
Yea or brad pitt
Did we forget about Bobby Lee in the short film 'Out of Love'? lol And Gary Oldman is on par with Daniel Day Lewis and Christoph are on my list as far as range. Just true actors. Enjoyable movies and on my list of favorite movies - Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson, Leonardo and Denzel are interchangeable. Imo
Gary Oldman best actor ever his performance in Leon the professional is crazy.
and Slow Horses... amazing
Gary Oldman is the goat. He disappears into the character I don’t even recognize him initially in films because he plays wildly different roles and kills it every time
Solid Example 👌 I literally didn't know that was him when I first watched Leon... had to Google it like "who tf is THIS GUY??" 🤯
Daniel Day Lewis is by far the best actor of this generation. But these guys arguing between Leo and Denzel show they have absolutely no clue what they are talking about. I love Denzel and dont miss his movies. But Leo is next level. He plays hero, anti-hero, and villain so well. His range is spectacular despite always being leonardo dicaprio. To me he is the only one that can be mentioned in the same sentence as Lewis. Maybe Sean Penn can.
Denzel number 1 is perfect
If Denzel isn’t in the top 3 convo list is void
This guy Andrew has a real Stephen A Smith thing about him
The problem with Tom cruise is Tom Cruise...he has a few solid ones for sure...but he can only be Tom Cruise. Hanks, Day-lewis, DiCaprio, are actually transformative in their roles.
Except Tom showed us his true range with Tropic Thunder
@@556CacheMoney tropic thunder is a top tier movie.
Though I feel like it's still underappreciated.
Lex Grossman: "take a step back, and literally, fuck your own face!"
I was born in 1980 so I lack perspective on 1950-70s but the best actors in the sense ''I believe I'm watching a Real person and et it's a written character'' have to be Pacino, De Niro, Pitt, Di Caprio, Day Lewis and Washington.
Lincoln is still the only movie ive ever fallen asleep in the theature watching.
Cruise not even top 10
I’d say he could easily be top ten. Just also due to sheer dedication but he also manages s lot of intensity, can run and speak Chinese at the same time, and is pretty solid otherwise.
@@ComeAlongKay if he's top 10 he's 10. 😂
Definitely not top 10

Best Tom Cruise is Interview with the Vampire and Collateral
5:00 Shanes training day take is bang on 🤣🤣🤣
Top gun 2 was a compilation of video game cut scenes.
Schulz has achieved peak insufferability
At 1:22 Shane wanted to lay the ground rules, cause what are we talking about here? Acting ability? Film popularity? Longevity? Cause on acting ability, Day-Lewis laps Cruise (three times over). Film popularity? Cruise is possibly the most dominant movie start ever, with hit after hit, after hit, after The Mummy, after hit. Longevity? Again Cruise has be at the top of the game for decades. But there is no way they can come to an understanding if they're playing by different rules. Which again, they should've clarified beforehand.
Imo if we're talking all-round body of work? I think Cruise may be top 3. I leave the other two slots for arguments sake.
Denzel over any of those guys they listed
Bringing up Top Gun when discussing all time great actors and movies lolololol
Man Andrew blows so hard. I’ve never seen someone fall off so hard.
What's with all the fruits in the chat stirring up drama. Shane is friends with all of them, they're all just hanging out talking crap. You guys never done that before or something.
Bale, Lewis, etc are different levels. People are thinking too hard here
These guys are arguing about movies not acting ability.
That's what I was saying. That's why I separated movies I enjoy and that are big hits from true actors
Philip Seymour Hoffman. John Cazale. Henry Fonda. Like there are objectively better actors than Cruise, Denzel, etc. This conversation should be titled "Best Movie Star"
DDL, Brando, Olivier, Denzel, De Niro, Nicholson, Pacino, Stewart, Hoffman…
Denzel is the only one of those whos movies i would seriously be upset if his movies went away. Mostly training day nd john q
DDL is a phenomenal actor, but his catalogue is not as strong as Cruise. He also takes like 5+ years in between roles to fully immerse himself in roles.
It's not about who had the most blockbusters. It's about who is the better actor. To me, being the best actor means the ones that become their character the best and portrays the emotions, intentions, and ambitions of that character ae well as being the best a consistently staying in character and staying true to who that character is. Also, having a big range and being able to do many different types of characters. It's not about who has the most big movies. Also, speaking of great movies. Robert de Niro has been quite a few. Raging Bull , Once Upon a Time in America, Goodfellas', Taxi Driver, a Bronx Tale, Ronin,Casino, the Godfather, part II, Heat, the Untouchables the Deer Hunter. Those are all better movies than anything Tom Cruise has done. Cruise Just has more blockbusters. That'd all. If that's the standard, then Samuel L. Jackson should be in the conversation because he has been in as many blockbusters and iconic movies as anyone, but that's not what the conversation should be about.
Cary Grant, James Stewart, Aubrey Hepburn...
Al Pacino hands down
It is Daniel Day Lewis for best actor as in who has the best performances and acting.
Robert Downey Jr. and Leonardo DiCaprio are definitely up there.
Leo > Denzel
In terms of a one-off performance of embodying a character:James Gandolfini has to be mentioned for Tony Soprano.
Leo's best movie is basketball diaries
Pacino
Leo
Deniro
Denzel
All equal top tier best actors. I do Christian Bale in there too
5) christoph waltz
4) Sam Jackson
3) DDL
2) Kevin spacey(I know)
1) Brad Pitt
I don’t think brad is the most skilled or particular better than anyone. But for me he has made some really great choices in most of the parts he plays, and gives his characters incredible performances in MOST of his films. Just my opinion.
This is an insane list dude lol
Denzel over sam or drop waltz
Fuck you’re right
Difference between Great actors and Great Movie Stars. Some prople are both
Tom Cruise's best performance: Tropic Thunder (I didn't realize it was him until later in the movie)
Andrew also said Netflix is bankrupt and was ending like 4 years ago.
The fact that they never brought up De Niro isa joke
It depends on what category we're using. Box office, notoriety, Cruise is probably top 5. Actual acting skill Cruise isn't top 10.
De Niro, Mickey Rourke, Brando
Such a good take, Pacino is Denzel
Schultz conflating good movies with good actors in all his arguments.
Great Gatsby, Inception, the Revenant, the Departed, ...I'm not even saying they are all better movies but they are without a doubt better performances than John Q and Man on Fire.
And not to take away from Denzel bc he's one of my favorites ...but Add Tarantino's movies to the list...and Leo comes out the clearly better performer.
Does Daniel day Lewis have the resume of great movies like Tom Cruz or others no... but on acting talent alone day Lewis is the GOAT. If he wanted to he would be an amazing Joker or two face he could of been great in any role truly.
Al Pacino, Christian Bale, Tom Arnold.
Top 3
I got Bale as my personal favorite, Leo as my number 2, The Departed is my favorite movie of all time so far...Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is another great for Leo, I love them both though 😏😎🤠
Daniel Day-Lewis is easily the best actor in this conversation. I could do without every single Tom Cruise movie.
Gary Oldman is the F**KING BEST actor of all time!!! Watch true romance when he was a pimp name Drexel
Gets his junk shot 😂😂
"Sit down boy, grab yourself an egg roll. We got everything here from a diddley-eyed-Joe to damned-if-I-know." - Drexl
Gary in Slow Horses is awesome.
You cant do without "the last samurai" really, thats probably cruises greatest work.
Best Movie Star- Tom Cruise
Best Movie Actor- Leo DiCaprio / Denzel Washington (Tie)
It amazes me Dustin Hoffman doesn’t get brought up more in these debates.
Daniel day Lewis is the best actor imo.
Leo’s best movie might be shutter island.
Brad Pitt DL has some heavy hitters.
Pitt plays the same character all the time - not in the same category as Leo or DDL
1. Daniel Day-Lewis
2. Robert Duvall
3. Denzel Washington
4. Anthony Hopkins
5. Mel Gibson
6. James Earl Jones
7. Gary Oldman
8. Robert DeNiro
9. Val Kilmer
10. Brad Pitt
I could defend each one of those, as thespians, over Tom Cruise with ease. Box office success doesn’t equate to skill.
The industry couldn’t do without Cruise
The art form couldn’t do without Lewis
Shane saying what we all think
Why was Joaquin Phoenix not mentioned here? He at least deserves to be in the conversation
Shane actually does mention Joaquin later on sometime after this clip and they talk about Signs and Joker for a lil bit
Marlon Brando, Day Lewis, De Niro, Denzel Washington, Jack Nicholson, tochiro mifune and Adam Sandler when he wants to
How about Jacky chan. He has been in like 150 movies and had his own cartoon
It’s Pacino and the De Niro
Why is Samuel L Jackson not brought up.
Exactly, he is iconic and has been in a broad range of movies.
The dude peaked 30 years ago in pulp fiction and has played a variation of that character ever since
They were inadvertently discussing the greatest directors not actors. Caprio is s product of directors. Tom Cruise is the greatest movie star but not actor. The greatest actor definitely also had roles on Broadway. Daniel Day was a good candidate.
It’s not Leo’s fault that all the best directors want him in the movies
