Gas Station Bathroom in Nevada I’m watching it this Friday. I wonder how this works, do I just ask for one of these devices at the front desk or do I reserve one? Haha I’ve never seen anyone at the movies using one of these
@@paoo1939 I've never used one either, im gonna watch it again this weekend and I'm just gonna ask for one at the counter and see how it goes from there
I find it a shape captions should not be shown at the movie theater on screen. That seems a shitty way to support them. Atleast amc theatres and big ones have screens that don’t have a lot of blooming or black crush bud some of the smaller theatres may have to much blooming with subtitles I guess the reasoning. I even like subtitles on my oled in my home theatre sometimes because s lot of actors mumble these days or score’s overpowering dialog. Looking at you Christopher Nolan! I love your movies and your 4K blu rays have excellent dynamic range but he floods the fronts when so much action and music scores it blocks out the dialogue
@@paramount5open captioning is a better way to go than this. Honestly, when those can hear think that this is good enough, they will never support the idea to improve this. And this device represent how exclusive this society is. Imagine having to focus to the caption device and to the screen frequently through out the movie….
My hearing loss has progressed to the point that I just don't go to theaters anymore, bulky non user friendly devices like this don't entice me to go spend $15-$20 on a ticket plus another $15-$30 if I want popcorn/ drink When I can watch it for free or rent/buy it for maximum $12 via streaming service with ACTUAL subtitles and buy a family pack of popcorn from the grocery for maximum $10 Kinda okish for going with my mom and siblings when I go visit but almost more of a hassle than just watching and not hearing a single thing and getting absolutely no context, I watched "The Marvels" in a Dolby Atmos imax theater and they had something very similar to this but 1) it sits in the cup holder, now where does my drink go 2) it's bulky and has to constantly be repositioned 3) my neighbors and those behind me had complaints about the bulky screened device hovering in front of me It's a lot better than the old mirrors though I'll give them that
Very interesting. I guess I’ve taken things like hearing for granted and never knew how it would be to have to use this. Fascinating.
That is beyond cool. I'd often wondered what these devices were like.
Thats really cool. I work at a movie theatre and saw one of these the other day HAD NO IDEA WTF IT WAS lol. Here i am watching how it works.
I’m going to need this for tenet
IM LITERALLY HERE BECAUSE OF TENET

Such a strange looking device.. i wonder how easy it is to look at it and the screen at the same time
I didn't know Dolby made close captioning devices because they are more known for their sound systems.
I need this for Oppenheimer
This is soo cool!!!
Are these just fir hard of hearing people or also someone who is foreign so they can understand the movie in another language
You explained the main 2 uses to yourself with this comment
amazing useful
i wish this would be the normal
The captions go by at this with this example too fast, focusing on the action and having to read and register the words. I saw a b letter on amcs site

Is it available in Spanish?
Some of them have a language option
Can you use this at home
Throw it to the trash!. Set open captions on screen subtitles …no more device
These are closed captioning devices, if you are having issues with open captioning that is probably a media block issue.

@@samcourts3544 The AMC in my area has open caption showings too. I figured they all would, but they probably had odd show times.
