    I’m sure there’s a formula but I’ve been eye-balling chems for years with no issues. Levels all good 👍

    Thanks for the bit about not mixing them. Last time I went to buy last year their was a shortage of bromine so I bought chlorine. I'm mabout to buy more again and was thinking of switching. But since I would have to drain and clean the lines I might just wait. I add chlorine to my hot tub every other day though! If I try to add extra to make it last longer its like shock level chlorine. I only have it set at 95 deg.

      Yeah I see other videos saying it's okay to mix them LOL thank you for your insights also

    I set up my above ground pool with 6300 gallons of water last week and am floating bromine tablets (didn’t have chlorine tablets yet but had a 5 gallon bucket of bromide tablets for my spa. Have I ruined my pool? Do I have to drain all the water to start with clorine? Or can I just let it leach away.?

    Wait… if it’s that dangerous, and they can’t even be stored next to each other, is it dangerous to move from swimming in a chlorine pool to a bromine hot tub or vice versa?

    If you are not to mix chlorine and bromine in water, how do you explain 1-bromo-3-chloro tablets and dichlor enhance MPS shocks?

    • @keithlegg7681
      @keithlegg7681 3 месяца назад

      You can use chlorine shock with a bromine system. You just have to run the jets for a while and only mix them in the water , not dry. Read up on it and use common sense

    • @brucevarney3297
      @brucevarney3297 2 месяца назад

      @@keithlegg7681 I did this and my test strips (which don't differentiate between chlorine and bromine levels) are reading like the chlorine/bromine levels are very high. I can find all sorts of articles that explain this issue, but none of them explain what I should do from here. Any suggestions?

    If my hot tub uses a uv light to sanitize should I say away from using bromine because the uv light will burn it off faster or does the uv light have no effect?

      @@W1ldt1m can I take out the bromide tablets from my new (1 week old) above ground pool and switch to chlorine without changing the water? It’s a sand filter. The sand filter will be upgraded in a week to the bigger one if that’s useful. I didn’t have chlorine tablets at setup so my son just put several bromide tablets in the floater.

    Note that all the Disney parks use bromine for their water attractions as the chloramines are much more "fragrant" than the bromamines are and can be distracting.

    Ha no, add new water and floating bromine is all you need. Don’t fall for the spa trap.
