You two deserve each other, seem made for each other. As a 62 year old Daddy with girls ranging from 6 to 32 years old , let me just say : He hits all the high marks in my protective Dad scorecard. And when you know, you KNOW. Twenty years ago I came home from the West to visit my father in southern Georgia. He was dying of emphysema and I shelved my busy life as an environmental activist in Portland to be there for Dad's last days. I also finally met Dad's ''Angel'' , his home caregiver who had kept him alive 3 years past his 6 month prognosis. The day before he left us,Dad made a request. He asked me to take''Angel '' to High Falls park after his funeral . He said to go sit with her on the big rock below the falls, where he had taught me flyfishing. ''She's gonna take this pretty hard and its a pretty place.'' Dad knew before we knew. Watching his radical Lefty son interacting with the Conservative Evangelical girl who had saved him a dozen times. Seeing us holding hands and praying for him. At High Falls we sat on Dad's rock together. A shooting star streaked across the sunset. We turned to each other and KNEW. ''Lets get married''. She said it first. I said it in the next breath. We had not even kissed yet. I went home with her that night and slept on her couch. She was and still is devoutly Christian. After a 3 week engagement ,sleeping on her couch, we wed . When you KNOW,why wait? Our friends thought we were crazy. We were'nt and you and George are'nt either. Its been almost 20 years now. Our girls are 6 and 9 years old. They do not watch TV. They are homeschooled. They cook, sew, write fiction, play music and garden. And yes they can internet. You, Ms. Owens, are their favorite ''Warrior Princess''.They want to be like you. . Our family greatly admires you,Candace. An Oxford educated, open minded conservative who can hunt. A guy who wisely works lower risk base metals instead of higher risk funds. And he can shoot something and build a fire if it all falls down. George hits high marks on my ''Dad Scorecard''. Congratulations ,you both deserve this blessing.
J Early what a sweet story, bless you! Mine is also amazing. Am also evangelical and met my Dutchman through a friend. We were engaged in 4 weeks. Married in 5 months. Never having kissed and he slept on my couch. We moved to his country from Uk where i had to learn his language. Never looked back. His mum knew as soon as he phoned her that he met a girl 18 yrs later and with 17 yr old daughter we cant believe how lucky we are. Am black British and he is white Dutch
I like nature. but I am not sold on hunting animals. The British loves hunting, though. but poaching damages the environment. Why hunt animals even if the hunter distributes the meat to civilians.
Wolverines Fight - worked for me - I still say the smartest thing I did in my life was to go after a young lady I met in Europe - chased her all the way back to Australia. We’ve now been married over 42 years, and 10 grandchildren. Spectacular life we’ve lived between Canada and Australia. She is wonderfully conservative and just wanted to be an amazing mother and wife - I literally struck gold all those decades ago. I’m glad I had the insight and worthy priorities at 22 years old.
I met my wife, we were engaged within 3 weeks and married in 4 months....23 years later we are still as strong as ever. They are right, when you know...you know.
We never dated. I just knew she was my soulmate. After we first met we began writing to each other for 3 months. When we met up the second time at a relatives home I asked her to marry me and she said yes. 51 years later we still can't believe we were so lucky to find each other.
Very similar story! The first time I met my husband, he was so irritating and righteous about certain things! I challenged him over his opinions and by the end of our confrontation, we agreed to have coffee the next day! We never looked back! We have 5 sons together! When our youngest was two, he passed away-farm accident! Sad but it does not overshadow the beautiful life we had together! 🦅☀️🦅💚🦅☀️🦅👵🏽👋🏾🙏🏽
Hey, Candace! My husband propsed to me after one week of dating! We were married 29 years until he passed away in 2017. It is so true: when you know, you know! Best wishes to you and George.

That's amazing. I've been seeing a lot of comments like that here and I can't help but feel it's because the culture in the past was so different. Now we have a culture of individualism and that people are disposable and there may always be something better out there. Can you explain to me the culture around romantic relationships when you were young? I'm so intrigued by it and would love to know. By the way I just turned 30. =)
Went to church today you guys. My man just said “ didn’t I tell you not to go to those things” I actually heard a word that he need to hear badly. I guess we’re through.
Will Woodfall Yes submit to male authority. It also tells the male to submit to his woman. The man that was in my life was calling me a weirdo for going to church. Cursing at me and calling me names. I’m not submitting to that. And we aren’t married so I can leave the situation. He claimed to be a believer but has troubles following Christ. Christ tells people to invite them in which I tried to do many time. If they say no, they’re not saying no to you. But to God. I did not get that far in life for a proposal, although I almost had one. It wasn’t right at the time. So daughters of God can have a man which means in modern times, dating someone. Languages change through the centuries. God probably gave it to me so I could give it to him. Sometime God works through people to get to others. He has to seek God. He’s not seeking him so he didn’t receive the word. But I can relay the message
And throughout all of that. I still told him that I love him. I have no bad blood because I know he has a hold on him that he has yet want to give up. Even though I tell him. I invited him to come to church with me. He doesn’t want to. I even was reading scriptures to him. I was bringing God’s word to him. He just chuckles and move on. He did tell me he believes in God.
@Will Woodfall "Where in Scripture are you commanded to go to 'Church'?" Answer: Hebrews 10:25 "Doesn't Scripture tell you to submit to male authority?" No it does not. See Ephesians 5:22. It says for a woman to submit to her OWN husband. That is different from submitting to men. __________________________________________________ The other questions don't make sense to me but I can say to you sincerely, if YOU are born of the Spirit (i.e. born again), then YOU need to know the Bible much better than revealed by your post, OR don't bring up what the Bible says. No offense intended but I'm sooooooooooo weary of people misquoting, or twisting, or cherry-picking scripture. I'm done with it. Know this - The King of ALL Kings is coming. I encourage YOU to get ready so that you're not surprised at His arrival. And Will?, I suggest that you start at Genesis and read it slowly, day-by-day, all the way to Revelation. We were a long distance romance. I was in Detroit, she was in Brooklyn, NY We met online and, after the 3rd-4th email, exchanged photos. (Clued in by her use of language that she was AA, I had subtly alerted her to the fact that I was of Scotch / Irish ancestry ie: white. If that was ever going to be a problem, it's best for it to happen at the start, before emotions run deep. If racial preferences have a place, it is in the selection of a life-mate.) Over the course of the next six months we met for four dates. On the fourth date, she wore white and I gave her the other part of the ring set, I having proposed during the first date. We had talked and written about so much that all I needed still to consider was how it felt to be in her presence. She was in town for a religious convention and I was with her a lot of that time. I DO highly recommend that the two share a religion. My wife and I not only shared a religion, but we also became disenchanted at about the same time and left it together.
You got lucky. Imagine if she turned out to be a psychopath, you would’ve been f***ed my guy. I already attract crazies as an empath as it is, so taking a risk like that would be asking for it.
@@kelss3630 for me, it was a feeling I'd never felt before. I thought I knew what love was before him but I realized that I hadn't known true love. I started waking up hours earlier than normal (without an alarm) because I felt so positive, complete, and because I wanted to talk to him more. Even when we were long distance he could sense shifts in my mood and would call to ask if was ok. I know that sounds crazy, but our bond was that intense.

I think it’s because natural born US citizens tend to take all their freedoms for granted. When you’re a naturalized US citizen, you really appreciate everything you have in America because you’re born elsewhere and you come here looking for a better future.
Most rural Americans feel this way. Especially Christian, conservative, veterans of foreign war. There is a certain amount of realization that occurs from world travel, selfless service, and exposure. so thankful I won the womb lottery and was born here .

@@jestersage8700 If the parents are stable, & consistently emotionally available to their children, then traveling with them isn't an issue. @@CherylBerryl I don't mean since the birth of the child I mean when they start reaching school age. Hell imagine all the friends you'd have to say goodbye too all the time. @@monalisa4709 The long engagement helped, of course, but I feel like when you know, you know. My now husband and I had a similar set of values, goals, and were in a place in our lives where we were ready to move on to the next step. The long engagement was only because we were both still in graduate school and not financially independent from our parents yet. I do believe that when two people get married, then their parents have to stop supporting them financially, otherwise you're just playing house with someone else's money. I don't understand dating for years (as adults), waiting to get married. A person doesn't change-so either you love them and everything that comes with them or you don't. Dating someone for years, hoping something is going to change, is a recipe for disappointment.
Monalisa I find that question to be a little sad. It makes me wonder about the kind of men you meet. We met working at a children’s camp. We spent our days working together and a lot of our free time with each other’s families. It would be hard to lie about yourself in that situation.

''She's gonna take this pretty hard and its a pretty place.''
Dad knew before we knew.
Wooow, amazing.
His mum knew as soon as he phoned her that he met a girl

They both are so cultured, knowledgeable and truly enjoy each other….
My father always said if you want a long happy marriage, go find a good conservative girl and marry her.
I’m glad I had the insight and worthy priorities at 22 years old.
make sure she believes that Gorilla's don't have souls.
Still married to my conservative wife (former High School Sweetheart) after 39 years.

We never dated. I just knew she was my soulmate. After we first met we began writing to each other for 3 months. When we met up the second time at a relatives home I asked her to marry me and she said yes. 51 years later we still can't believe we were so lucky to find each other.
That’s so cute
Very similar story! The first time I met my husband, he was so irritating and righteous about certain things! I challenged him over his opinions and by the end of our confrontation, we agreed to have coffee the next day! We never looked back! We have 5 sons together! When our youngest was two, he passed away-farm accident! Sad but it does not overshadow the beautiful life we had together! 🦅☀️🦅💚🦅☀️🦅👵🏽👋🏾🙏🏽

That's amazing. I've been seeing a lot of comments like that here and I can't help but feel it's because the culture in the past was so different. Great advice!
@Will Woodfall
"Where in Scripture are you commanded to go to 'Church'?"
Answer: Hebrews 10:25
"Doesn't Scripture tell you to submit to male authority?"
No it does not. See Ephesians 5:22. It says for a woman to submit to her OWN husband. That is different from submitting to men.

I don't know if you read comments. My story: married 42 years and still counting. We knew after the first date.

Your husband has a healthier idea of America than many Americans.
Most countries do... we are self centered people
I think it’s because natural born US citizens tend to take all their freedoms for granted.
I think that's like every Western country. We are lucky really but naturally we want more.

Candace, consider homeschooling the kids. You can live where you want, steer their education, and you and your husband can do your work about anywhere. And if the kids travel with you, they can continue their schooling on the road.
Best if they don't travel around kids need a place to anchor
@@jestersage8700
If the parents are stable, & consistently emotionally available to their children, then traveling with them isn't an issue. When they get older, & start creating significant bonding relationships outside of the immediate family unit, then becoming more anchored in community becomes more important. They've certainly got time on their side.
Wish i was able to home school. That definitely was my first choice.

How do you do it. What made you confident enough to be engaged after two months. But then again you had a long engagement.

@@MsGoldgirl Don't be sad. I don't know any men. I never been in a relationship because I have trust issues and I am unattractive. I was just wondering. I am just fearful of getting close to anyone.
Candace has been to Uganda!!! I'm so proud to hear this! Your message is important, strength to you.
Wow! You guys are so cute! 🥰
My parents got engaged 3rd week and got married 1-month after they met. 30 years and their going strong.
Great couple! Best wishes and love from Israel.
Dovev Israel? I’ve never heard of it
Mr-Miyaagi Let's not start this shit here.
@@MrrMuyaagi its the only place in the Middle East where gays are not executed and has a growing Christian population
David Archer You think telling me Israel is tolerant of homosexuality is a good thing?
@@MrrMuyaagi i think not killing gay people for being gay is a very common sense thing to do, for people not living in the 12 century.
Married within 6 months, just celebrated 20 years of marriage.
Continued blessings
Beatrix James Enganged at 6 months, married at a year, been married for 28! (: xo
This is good news, it’s rare to hear Americans that keep relationships that long, everyone always seems to be breaking up or divorcing.
Married within 6 months, we’ve been married for 12 years.
wow, I enjoyed every bit of this interview, the fact that God blessed with such a strong Christian is even more exciting.
Congratulations again Candace and George . . . Mr. & Mrs. Farmer may our Lord Jesus Christ greatly bless and keep you guys ...
I became a Christian in Jan 2007, met my Christian husband 6 months later, engaged 4-5 month after that, married a year later, 13 years later ... we are stronger every year! I am so weepy now, i love your story ♥️🙃
My husband and I were engaged after 2 months and married 4 months later. That was 31 wonderful years ago. We vowed never to even think the ‘D’ word and we have never said ‘divorce’. Our faith brought us together and keeps us together.
Hey George what's it like being married to a rightwing white supremist
Congratulations it was your faith. Candace is evil and no good can come of her marriage.

The story of you both is beautiful. And your both compliment each physically, emotionally and conversation
really enjoyed listening to the both of you share your experiences together. When George said he was really looking forward to children and spending the rest of his life with you, it got me teary eyed. Congratulations and remember to keep Jesus at the center of your life.
I picture your parents looking with such a proud feeling watching their children in this amazing conversation! Blessing guys and complete the assignment of the "becoming one" for a real significant reason!

It reminds me a bit of our story.. my husband and I knew pretty much from the first time we met that we were going to marry. We knew each other for about a year and a half before we started dating. We started dating in april and got married 3 months later.
11 years and four children later we are going stronger then ever. The longer we are married the more fun we have together.:)
Candace you are one women I can point to as a role model for my girls! Thank you! We need more women like you.
