Margie if you study the church history and the early church fathers you will see that "the devil" has always attacked the body of Christ anyway he can. People react and leave the church and abandon Jesus based on Feelings. Once you know the history of our faith you refuse to throw out the Baby with.the bath water. Knowledge and grace combat the errors. Feelings aren't facts. You must know your Faith not just feel it. Read and study books not Google.
"... someday soon" & those are words of hope❤ You have your faith- now be honest with God in prayer and let him know that you are struggling immensely to get past that abuse that was in the Church. Jesus will listen & He will meet you where you're at. He just wants your honesty and He will do the rest- as long as you're open to his saving healing love. Because there is nothing better than the Sacrificial love we get to experience every Sunday in the Eucharist... That can only be found in a Catholic mass. But I understand the pain you feel... Try to ignite your fire for the Eucharist and then come to Jesus with your honesty & he will meet you where you're at & take it from there❤

Aussie Aussie Aussie! And condolences to England on their tragic, historic loss. :) I finished this video after many days...a great conversation and well worth the time... Thanks, guys!
With Henry VIII there's no justifying how he went about things. The man was terrible. A spoiled brat from cradle to grave and a bully who was very dangerous, if anyone ever dared say 'no' to him. There's no question but that he was lusting after Anne Boleyn. But there was also his worry about still not having a son by Catherine. My heart aches for the poor woman. All those births and just one child who survived. Not uncommon in those days. But heartbreaking, just the same. And he was especially anxious for a son. Because the Wars of the Roses only ended when his father came to the throne. And after all the trouble of that war. He wanted to make England secure after he was gone. As I say though. No excuse at all for his behaviour.
I thoroughly enjoyed the content, learned quite a bit. Thank you for redirecting the conversation Catholicism/Protestant, good move. I really admire your sensitivity of others and your sensibilities. Thank you, a really great intellectually stimulating conversation.

George...your story is so interesting! I don't know how Candace isn't Catholic yet with you at her side; well I can kind of see why. Praying she recieves the gift of faith esp for your family's sake. Also how have you not reasoned your way into seeing the Sspx is what saved the true faith since Vatican II? Or maybe you haven't looked into that since you enjoy the fruits of the Archbishop's labors perhaps without realizing it? So interesting, crazy times in the Church but God's grace is forever working.
Protestant here with no interest in Catholicism. But I believe there are many Christians (and many non) in the many denominations, including the Catholic Church. Let's be one in our Lord Jesus. 😃♥️🙋🏻♀️

'Being a Christian is an unfair advantage.' I think that is many times true. What I really came to say is that I had parents who were Evangelicals. A brother in law who is a conservative Lutheran minister. A nephew who is a devout Catholic. Another brother in law who was a hospital chaplain when he was alive. An Uncle who was an Evangelical missionary to Guatemala and Peru. A niece who married someone now studying for the Serbian/Belorussian orthodox ministry. What I see in them all are sincere people who are sure that their reigious beliefs and practices make the most sense.
Try to watch it in the RUclips app- I noticed the first hour is missing when I click on the link and watch it within other apps (Instagram) it’s really frustrating because the first hour is 🔥. I wonder why it’s doing that 🤔
Loved what you had to say about confession. Here's a question to pose to a protestant. If Jesus had no intention of us seeking confession why would He (Jesus) in the Gospel of John (John 20) give the Apostle's the ability to forgive and bind sins post crucifixtion and resurrection?
@@bda2444 I know what binding and loosing is in a Jewish context. Gotta love the shotgun logical fallacy. I'm going to keep this one issue at a time because I don't want to write or read an essay every comment. Why did Jesus give the Apostle's authority to forgive and retain sins post crucifixtion/resurrection? You cite 1 John 1:9 and I can cite James 5:14-16. Heretics also quoted scripture like Arius, Nestorius etc. So the issue isn't the scripture but how its interpreted. Ancient Christians practiced confession. I'm going to side with them over some guy on RUclips.
@@bda2444 I didn't call you a heretic. I said heretics also quoted scripture (which can either apply to you or me depending on who thinks they're right). But the fact is you think I'm one for believing false things so I don't see why you'd get all bent out of shape over that statement. You think the Catholic Church teaches heretical things do you not? Religious violence is not unique to any group. Protestants killed Irish Catholics brutally. That doesn't strengthen my position nor weaken it. Its just history. I too point to Christ. Can you provide an explanation for John 20:22-23 and the chronology of events? Do you actually want to discuss this or are you going to make emotional appeals and become indignant during a religious debate (which by its very nature leads to offense)?
@@bda2444 You already wasted your time writing all your percieved errors of the Catholic faith. So I already know you think the Church teaches heretical things. Wether or not you use the word you understand its meaning (your definition applies "disunity in the Gospel"). Nor am I defending religious violence. You brought it up as if it strengthens your position when it does nothing of the sort. Humans mistreating each other in the "name of God" is as old as time. Saying your relatives were burned by Catholics is a standard case of emotional appeal. It doesn't add anything to your defense. Except to generate sympathy. So again I ask do you actually want to discuss John 20:22-23 and the significance of the chronology of events?
@@bda2444 You wrote all that but never actually answered the question. Because too many of your assumptions are built into your reading of it. Such as faith alone (which I don't know what you mean by that). If you mean mental assent that Jesus is Lord. Jesus himself and James teach against that notion. (Matt 7:21-29 James 2:19) So a few points. Is God so impotent that he could not communicate the ability to forgive and retain sins to human beings? In that verse Jesus says whatever sins *you* forgive will be forgiven. Not proclaim the Gospel message that *I* have forgiven their sins. Surely you do not think that Jesus needed to breathe the Holy Spirit on the Apostles in order to forgive personal infractions. What that would mean is that no human prior to the giving of the Holy Spirit would have the ability to forgive personal offenses. Which would still apply today to any person who is not Christian. Are you saying Jews, Muslims, Atheists etc are incapable of forgiving someone who wrongs them because they have not yet recieved the Holy Spirit? So just to keep the discussion on point in what way did Jesus give the Apostles the authority to forgive sins that they did not originally posses?
Faith alone, meaning. For by grace you have been saved through faith.” See also Romans 3:28; 4:5; 5:1; Galatians 2:16; 3:24; Ephesians 1:13; and Philippians 3:9 Any verse that ascribes salvation to faith/belief, with no other requirement mentioned, is a declaration that salvation is by faith alone. John 3:16 declares that salvation is given to “whoever believes in Him.” Acts 16:31 proclaims, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”
I'm only 20 minutes in. George's childhood story about the debate with the Muslim boy strikes me. Particularly his classmates reaction. It seems to be a very Christian response in a Pauline sense. Christianity may be in decline, but the Christian story is about the resurrection. The Christian ethos still permeates our society. It is a seed planted deep. Remember what Christ said about the mustard plant.
Matt, you are also my favourite RUclipsr. May be because I am just bias. I am Aussie, you see. But my son loves your interviews. So do I and my husband and all children. Oh! No! My youngest son prefers Ferris - How to be Christian. 😅
George, about the elements used during Mass, or as protestants call communion, these were used in the Jewish Passover. The bread was Matzah (unleavened or “without sin”), there were multiple cups of wine that were used during Passover. The wine was dripped onto a white plate representing blood at one point during the Passover. The Matzah bag that has 3 compartments for 3 pieces of Matzah. If I remember correctly the third cup of wine during the Passover is called the cup of salvation. The Passover had two purposes, 1) to remember the Exodus from Egypt, and to point the Jewish people to Christ as the Messiah. At the third cup of wine, during Passover, the Matzah from the center pocket of the bag is pulled out and broken and shared with the family around the table. The third cup, “the cup of salvation”, represents Jesus rising from the grave on the third day. It is also a symbol of his blood. The three pieces of Matzah in the pocket represent the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The center piece represents the Son, or Jesus. So at the third cup of wine the center piece is removed, broken and shared. This is why Jesus pulled the center piece out and said, “This is my body, broken for you, take eat..”. And the third cup of wine was a symbol of his blood, and he told them to take it and drink it. The elements was symbols during the Passover, therefore; I believe they are still symbols today. By the way, my wife and I knew each other about 4 months before we were married, and as of this month we have been happily married 51 years! God bless you and Candice!
This may sound weird but George Farmer is such a lucky guy, He's a multi millionaire, he has the Catholic Faith, He's handsome, He's married, he's very well educated, obviously very intelligent, and he seems to have a pretty decent Sartorial style.
With respect, Henry’s motivation for divorce wasn’t only because “he was horny”. He was desperate for a male heir. His grandfather had toppled the incumbent King and had usurped the throne, establishing the Tudor line. England was in a weak position. The great European powers were Spain and Portugal. England was vulnerable to invasion. Henry VIII was desperate to secure his royal line. His first wife did not produce a male heir.
Hello, I just have a question about baptism. I fully believe in baptism and that we have to be baptized in order to be saved. My question is what about babies who have passed on whether it be by abortion, miscarriage, still birth, or passed on before they could be baptized. I have been struggling with this after I suffered a miscarriage myself.
Hello! First of all, I am sorry for your loss. I am not a catholic, so I can’t speak on their beliefs. However, as an evangelical Christian, I believe that babies go to paradise because they’re innocent. Moreover, there are several testimonies of parents losing their unborn child who were comforted by God. He assured them that their child was in paradise. My advice is that you pray to Jesus about this subject so he can give you peace and reveal the truth. I hope you’re in the process of healing, and I wish you all the best. Have a good day 😊
Ok, I'm curious. I grew up in the catholic church. I know the errors they teach. How can he promote that! To go from being a nondenominational Christian to that. I'll bet his father is horrified. Just one little example: "Call no man father"....yet every priest IS called father.
They're called fathers because that's what they are, or at least what they are meant to be. Just like "his father", or your father, or my father. And that's the vocation God himself called them to. No error there.
When you know, you know. Our parents met at a street party, dad had just moved in a week earlier. A month later they got married, she was 21 he was 22. 51 years later they still hold hands.

Being religious is much easier in the US than Europe. I’m from the Netherlands and I rarely met religious people there. In the states we have so many Catholics and Catholic Churches around us. It’s quite nice and refreshing. Plus in Europe they make fun of how ‘religious’ Americans are. So George is right

Try to ignite your fire for the Eucharist and then come to Jesus with your honesty & he will meet you where you're at & take it from there❤
Matt please have George on again! This was wonderful.

Thanks for the great five hours.
God bless you both🤗
Great program. Thank you both!!!
My favorite interview so far. Watched all 5 hours!
This was an awesome episode! Have him back in the future!
It was the converts that helped me come back to the church after 4 decades in 2019
I watched the whole thing over like 5 days! HA! Enjoyed every minute, I love love love convert stories, they are so passionate because they know the bible inside and out and then once they learn the beauty of the tradition and fulfillment of truth... it is all over. Beautiful!
It took me a few days, but.. ozzy ozzy ozzy!
Thanks for a great show, and giving something worthwhile to listen to while I do laundry and dishes 😊
Great dialogue! Jordan is very intelligent and I’m glad he started questioning the Protestant beliefs that aren’t biblical, once that happens it’s only a matter of time before you become Catholic!

Awesome interview, watched the whole 5 hours!
Aussie Aussie Aussie! And condolences to England on their tragic, historic loss. :) I finished this video after many days...a great conversation and well worth the time... Thanks, guys!
Ausie Ausie Ausie! That was fantastic! Loving these long form conversations which are so enriching. Praise God!

I didn’t watch live but here’s to the recording, Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie! Loved it! Thank you.
Very much enjoyed listening to this discussion 😊
You need Knowlestradamus on the show yesterday
He’s been on before
My heart sank when I saw this was 5 hrs long. Can’t believe I enjoyed every minute. By someone I’d never heard of?? Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie
Three hours in... this guy is fascinating.
I thoroughly enjoyed the content, learned quite a bit. Thank you for redirecting the conversation Catholicism/Protestant, good move. I really admire your sensitivity of others and your sensibilities. Thank you, a really great intellectually stimulating conversation.
Listened to this all the way through and it’s one of the best! Thank you both! 💙
Such a great conversation, but the most replayed part is the midway break?
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie … enjoyed watching the both of you 🤗 Glory be to God.
Ozzy Ozzy Ozzy
Loved it!
But I don’t have time to just sit down and listen. I listen while I drive, listen while I work around the house on projects etc. Thank you for all you do Matt!
They commit an act that is against God's biblical law.
Aussie Aussie Aussie! Best interview so far 👌

Protestant here with no interest in Catholicism. But I believe there are many Christians (and many non) in the many denominations, including the Catholic Church. Let's be one in our Lord Jesus. 😃♥️🙋🏻♀️
Why are there no denominations in the Bible?
@@bluecomb5376 I suspect because it was at the birth of Christianity. For a brief period in history, they were all in one accord. They also had to be in order to survive because of the intense persecution. Rough times.
Imagine a world where Candace is President of the United States and George is First Gentleman! P.S. "Suck it Australia!" (Sorry, Matt, I love the motherland). Only took me 4 days over 2 weeks to watch but it was great.
HI, Budapest! Matt, as far as DW, I'm sure you've checked out Michael Knowles and Andrew Klavan? They are the best of the platform, IMHO (and of course, Candace!). Great conversation. Thanks so much for it. I'm a 40-plus-year Christian but brand new Catholic. Your content here encourages me! Please keep it coming. Kelli Buzzard
We Catholics think that confession as torture but it is such a blessing and gift. He pours His love on us.
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie! Love long form conversations!
It appears that the first hour is missing. I hope this can be fixed before I want to hear his whole story!
(Matt 7:21-29 James 2:19)
So a few points.
For by grace you have been saved through faith.” See also Romans 3:28; 4:5; 5:1; Galatians 2:16; 3:24; Ephesians 1:13; and Philippians 3:9
Any verse that ascribes salvation to faith/belief, with no other requirement mentioned, is a declaration that salvation is by faith alone. John 3:16 declares that salvation is given to “whoever believes in Him.” Acts 16:31 proclaims, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”
Hey Matt Fradd, have you announced the comeback of George Farmer interview in 5+ hours? We love to see this after with Jimmy Akin/Seamus does
I'm only 20 minutes in.

Georgie you're the best 🤠
Have a good day 😊
I think in the end, the answer we are all looking for is Jesus.
5 hours??? 😂
Wow. It's.actually 5 hours long?! 😮😮😮
Do you call your dad "father"?

Being religious is much easier in the US than Europe. I’m from the Netherlands and I rarely met religious people there. In the states we have so many Catholics and Catholic Churches around us. It’s quite nice and refreshing. Plus in Europe they make fun of how ‘religious’ Americans are. So George is right

Only Western Europe. Go to Poland very religious country, you go to Church every Sunday.
@@DjJokerr honestly, one of the great joys of going through Eastern Europe for me was a gateway to how my home of England used to be in the way back before times
So sad about Europe being secular. But we must be encouraged to live our faith courageously and joyously to further the kingdom here.

Eastern Europe is very different, and Poland is amongst the best!!!
There is one exception. The Czech Republic. The Bohemians make the Dutch look like ordained saints!!!
I am a craddle Catholic, from Spain. I am mesmerized by the stories of converts. It always astonishes me the hard way they have to walk to realize the facts that are given to us as a gift. Many times I get strenght from them, for their hard work to discern the truth the courage and the honesty to embrace it.
There are lot's of sacrifices, but Jesus is leading! He comforts us in our pain as he teaches us to depend on him in new and refreshing ways.
I became Catholic at 38 years old and it is the most amazing treasure and gift! Sometimes when I am at Mass, I still can’t even believe I am allowed to be there, in the ranks of the Communion of Saints. It’s been almost five years of life changing adventure with our Lord. I will never turn back!
