Hey Matt, i'm an aussie in ireland. is there any way i could catch up with you for a coffee when you come here in a few weeks ? got some things i'd like to chat about. God bless.
There are no aliens. A fistful of dirt on Earth has more life, than anything, anywhere in space. From what I've gathered, it seems these antigravity aircrafts are obviously real and are of human production. The hull is probably made of strange alloys of aluminium, and the antigravity engine may use a ferro-mercuric superfluid in a torus-shaped chamber(s) for its non-aerodynamic, non-inertial way of flight. I'm an Agnostic and I can't overstate just how much I love, love, love Jimmy Akin. The man has made my respect for Catholicism and religion in general increase by orders of magnitude.
As a agnostic what is still keeping you from Catholicism? Do you think it would be more fruitful to call in on Catholic answers live one day and asked Jimmy questions?
I had late stage 3 cancer similar to Jimmy’s wife. Really hits me. I was not Catholic at the time but entering the church this Easter. I am experiencing many health issues again and getting scans to determine the problem. I hope I life many years as I have two little but I do have more peace about death now more than ever. Please pray for my children.
My brother was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney cancer back in 2015 and still alive and kicking. I pray for your recovery and full remission. In Christ’s name Amen.
Just driven a 2 hour drive after visiting a monastery for the Good Friday liturgy and this has kept me company. I'm looking forward to my next drive to listen more!
Arguably the Thomas Aquinas of our age. ❤ Lord only knows how many souls this man has contributed to saving and I swear he is the smartest dude I've encountered
Thanks, Matt and Jimmy! Catholic revert here who owes a lot to Catholic Answers. 20 years in LA, San Fran and Seattle. Now great to see Jimmy across the church Saturdays in AR. 😊
Jimmy’s speaking is the epitome of informative speech. He gets right to the point without fluff or going off rails. Deliver the information efficiently and accurately. I could listen to him forever.
Every time I hear the story of Jimmy's wife I'm moved to tears. I cannot imagine the amount of pain one would go through to lose someone so suddenly yet so drawn out.
Man what a treat this is. I’m Eastern Orthodox but to sit in and listen to my two favorite Catholic apologists / online personalities in conversation is fantastic. Our whole family loves Jimmy Akin’s Mysterious World to the point that we jokingly refer to Friday as Jimmy Night. Thank you for this.
Glad you enjoy these fine lads brother! I pray our respective churches will finally put aside their differences in order to follow Christ's command to be one!
Thank you for talking about the division between less traditional and very traditional Catholics. This wasn’t something that seemed as bad when I had my reversion into the faith in 2014 at college. As it began to get worse, I was thrown into a depression because I didn’t know what to think of my faith any more, and I had to take a break from Catholic social media for a while because of the stress I experienced. This really helps clarify what is going on! 🙂
I have met an astrology guru, that became obsessed with my life! I consider him dangerous and he’s freemasonry in Mexico. I’m free now! Just preparing myself to do the confirmation at Catholic Church! Thanks to God.
When i was investigating the Catholic Church, I read Surprised By Truth which included the story of James and Renee Akin. The story affected me powerfully since i was enduring suffering that i didnt understand what to do with. All these years later, and i just put two and two together that this James was actually Jimmy Akin from Catholic Answers. I am so grateful for Renée Akin's prayers. I feel like she has been a mother to me.
Moo goo gai pan! Thanks guys, that was very enjoyable. Along with Joe Heschmeyer, Trent Horn, a few of my life-long Catholic friends, and the both of you, I have been able to finally decide to convert to Catholicism after 30+ years as a Protestant. Had my first RCIA meeting today. Thanks!
1:16:45 If the Pope is restricting the more beautiful form of mass due to RUclips videos and their comments, that is extremely lame. After 38 years of NO, I do not attend my FSSP's parish because of RUclips content. That is very disingenuous. Out of 100 parishes, there is only one that does TLM. There is so much more that is better at my parish than the average NO parish, it's not just Latin.
My NO parish offers TLM on Sunday. My wonderful young priest faces ad orientem at all masses. As of Ash Wednesday we are all back to the communion rail and receiving on the tongue. He has no EMHCs and no girls in the sanctuary. The discussion of the chaos of the sixties is much appreciated!!
@@TheCoachsCoach933 it's published in the bulletin, but we're still sometimes viewed as the stepchildren. It's a challenge to try to be active in the parish. Still, I'm very appreciative of the pastor's efforts and the hand-off approach of the bishop. We know the TLM could be shut down any day now. So, we pray.
@@hamwithcheese586 I'm sorry for that. The needless chatter at the NO Masses is noticeably dying down, and I think it's due to the pastor's efforts to be the exemplar of reverence.
We are in a similar parish. It's the one place I've been where I go to the NO more than the TLM because it's reverent to the point of being a translated version.
Moo-Goo Gai Pan! I watched in my home office as I worked on projects. What a great episode! I'm a teacher in a Catholic classical school and Jimmy's reasonable approach to questions and debates is a great model for me to share with my students.
Jimmy’s recount of taking care of his wife is so emotional to listen to. For those that have lost love ones quickly to cancer we understand this deeply ❤
I was 20 years old when Humanae Vitae was promulgated. In anticipation of it I was aware that some Catholics wanted birth control to be approved but I thought that if the pope approved it then I would have had to question my faith. So when the pope disapproved it I was satisfied and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one. I was busy with my life and didn’t pay much attention to the reaction so wasn’t aware of how deep the rebellion was. I felt terrible when I heard just a few years ago how it hard it was on Pope Paul VI. I wish I would have written to him just how he had confirmed me in my faith.
your faith in the triune God, creator and savior of our of universe and souls was questioned by the idea of taking a chemical to stop egg release, thicken the walls of the womb etc??? I'm not convinced of your "faith" if that's so.
@@jacobortega3424 No, that's not what would have made her question her faith. Contraception has always been condemned by the Church and if the Church were to completely reverse her teaching just because the culture is now more accepting of it, that would put into question the indefectibility of the Church and Christ's promise that the gates of hell will never prevail against her.
@@jacobortega3424 I didn’t question God. I questioned how anyone could believe they had the authority to change God’s laws and if they thought they could do that then how could I trust them to lead me to God.
Jimmy never loses his peace - I’ve got so much respect for that! A wealth of knowledge that he shares so well, always calm and collected!! Great to see him in this space where we can get to know more about him!
I really love Jimmy Akin he's so fair minded, loving, evenhanded and knowlegable esp regarding Vatican 2, Pope Francis and the latin mass squabble. I shared this talk with my beloved friends who might benefit from JA's perspective.
Moo Goo Gai Pan! I really loved this episode! I’m a huge fan of Jimmy Akin and his winsome, cordial approach to Christian apologetics. He embodies many of the virtues I aspire to as a minister of the gospel!
Using term goat in this way is falling for the illuminati/satanists word/meaning inversion. Christ is the Good Shepard, loving his flock of sheep. The satanists venerate the goat-demon/pan/baphomet/goat of Mendes. Now they have INVERTED sheep as bad and goats as good. Watch out for their word play and SPELLing and meaning games. Turning goat into greatest has made smooth transition into baphomet imagery as cool, or as it is now called, "fire."
Never thought that the priest facing the congregation was entertaining. I find it mind-blowing that I can see with my eyes the bread and wine become the body and blood of Christ. I love Novus Ordo and Latin mass. Doesn't matter what manner the mass is said. What matters is that YOU are reverend.
I've worked closely with 15 in helping them celebrate the Mass on Sundays and Holy Days in English in a non-English-speaking country, and am associated with several others in other capacities. The priests I know who have celebrated 'both ways' say that for THEM, celebrating facing the tabernacle makes it SO MUCH EASIER to focus on the sacrifice and not be distracted and to be more reverent in their celebration. They elevate the host above their heads at the elevation so you're not missing that. And you aren't 'seeing with your eyes the bread and wine become the body and blood' because the accidents don't change. What you see with your eyes is exactly the same in appearance.
@@FigaroHey Bruh I don’t think he was saying that you see the accidents change (it’s pretty obvious that’s not what he meant, actually), just that the process of transubstantiation is more visible. I’m not necessarily agreeing or disagreeing, though.
1:54:47 😮 that was the first person that came to mind when Jimmy was speaking about people being negative and critical of the Pope and other Catholic topics… And I agree with Jimmy. He seems wholehearted and honest. You get more bees with honey… I’m glad I watched this video. Thank you both for what you do. May the Lord bless and keep you 🙏🏽✝️
Moogoogaipan. Boy howdy, talk about a good one. I sat down with the intent to watch an hour or two but this whole episode blazed by. A stimulating and wide ranging conversation between friends that I feel blessed to have been allowed to observe.

Moogoogaipan I’ve been waiting so long for this episode. I’m a huge admirer of both Jimmy and you, Matt. I listen to every episode of both Pints and Mysterious World. I really appreciated this episode and tragically missed getting to go to Steubenville the other night. Thanks a lot for this though, easily my favorite episode so far.
I didn't watch the video but listened to all six hours on via podcast. And yes, I made all this effort to type moogoogaipan. As someone who's recently made the decision to convert to Catholicism, thank you Pints team and Jimmy Akin for all of your fruitful work.
I'm no "rad trad", I am Catholic. TLM is my first preference but if unable to attend TLM I will go to a NO Mass. In Sydney we're blessed that Pope Francis has yet to have much of an impact with the TLM here. We have a good Bishop, Archbishop Anthony Fisher who allows the TLM to continue without suppression. I agree with Jimmy Akin that we must not dwell on the negative and allow it to consume us. For a few years now I've stopped giving Pope Francis a second thought whenever I disagree with him and make a conscious effort to not speak ill of the Holy Father because firstly we must respect the chair he occupies, secondly it's out of my control and thirdly God wills everything so I try my best to place my trust in Him. In saying that, Jimmy Akin sounds like a woman in a domestic violent relationship that makes excuses for the abuse received. "It's my fault not his" mentality. Perpetrators of domestic violence often attempt to make their victim believe it's their own fault, and Akin is suggesting just that. Akin is suggesting due to a minority of "rad trads ungrateful behavior" Pope Francis will abuse his power as Holy father and suppress the TLM to teach them a lesson. He described this as like a parent taking the toy from a child who misbehaves but given Rad Trads are predominantly adults the more accurate analogy would be a perpetrator of domestic violence abusing his position of power and taking away the rights of their abused spouse in an attempt to control them. This is absurd.
While I wouldn’t place the entirety of the blame on radtrads, Jimmy is certainly right to an extent, especially when radtrads are using that liturgy to implicitly, if not explicitly, promote sedevecantism or schism. Pope Francis is certainly too thin-skinned at times, especially on this topic, but like Fr. Ripperger says, “we get the leadership that we deserve.”
@@Monserratt-xb8tiDid you notice that, in the entire interview, the ONLY part where Akin appeared to lose his temper, raise his voice, and become visibly agitated was when the topic of Francis' legitimacy as the pope and the TLM was brought up? Maybe I'm reading too much into his demeanor, but it certainly gave me the impression that he has a deep seated feeling that Benedict's resignation really could have been canonically in error. See Canon 188. Just a thought.
1:14:30-1:16:00 - Couldn't disagree with Jimmy more here. If have six children, and it would be unjust of me to punish all of them for the wrongdoing of one of them. That's not what good fathers ought to do.
This might be my all time favorite PWA episode…Jimmy Akin is wonderful. He’s now in my top three favorite guests from the show, along with Peter Kreeft, Christopher West.
The story about his wife is really touching. Especially since some of us who have loved ones with chronic suffering, we don’t réalise how much we depend on the people we care for. There’s a way we take on their suffering and forget what life without this suffering even is. I think this is a beautiful truth.
One year old Catholic - former protestant pastor/worship leader. Why am I not surprised that Jimmy knows the music of Mark Heard?!! Mark's music is a part of the tapestry of my youth as a Christian wanting to create artistic expressions of real life faith. Being Catholic opens so many doors to artistic expression that seem to be obfuscated as a prot - which seems to require musicians/artists be overtly evangelistic rather than faithful to the beauty of God's creation including words & sounds. Love Jimmy & all that he brings to the faith!
As a Québécois, I'm glad to see Matt understands our concerns with protecting French! And it's so rare to hear about Québec outside of Canada (and in an understanding way) it just makes me happy! 😅 Great conversation! Thank you both!
@@bbllrd1917 I heard that the French scared off the Anglos, and too be honest, I am not quite fond of France, they seem to bring revolt and immorality. To be honest with you, my friend likes French films, but the films that he likes are immodest and degenerate. So my perception of France is quite a negative one. Do you bully your Anglo neighbors? Just curious.
@@thelonelysponge5029 Québec isn't France, just like the USA isn't England. I don't bully anyone, I have many anglos friends. My stepmother is anglophone. The project of independence for Québec isn't against anglos, but for the French people. In North America, the bullying tends to go the other way around. Apart from Québec, all the French populations on the continent decreased rapidly. This trend seems to have reached Québec, which is why the need to protect the French language and the "culture québécoise" have increased. For some reason, many anglos seem to feel threatened by the fact that Québec is trying to survive as a French nation. If they could put themselves in our shoes, they might realise that their minority status in the Québec province is pale in comparison to the minority status of French people in Canada, not to say in North America. If they're justified in feeling threatened, how can they not see that French people can be just as justified to feeling the same, only even more so?
@@bbllrd1917 Interesting perspective honestly. I’m just an American with little knowledge of Quebec and France, I honestly just learned from my school. I keep hearing that Québec is against anglos, but it’s for French people, here’s my concern. If you want a French nation for French people, why not go to France? I have also had this question, but I had no French Quebecian to answer. Hmmm, let me try to understand more. You don’t want your French culture to die out, you want to protect your French communities and people. You would hate to see your neighborhoods to become more Anglo or multicultural. You want the French experience. Hmmm, I think I kinda get it now, this is a good and noble thing to do, to preserve one’s culture and people. What you are doing isn’t evil, it is good and right, but I wonder… when does it become evil and awful? If the French quebecians would to start terrorizing the Anglophone community, then they must die or go back to where they came from. Yo, forgive my ignorance, but Quebec was populated mostly by Anglos before, around the 1900s, right? Then the population died down and now the French people want Quebec to be its own separate nation, to protect its French identity from dying… Am I getting it so far? What should I, an American living in the states, should do with this information? Should I go ask my local congressman to wipe out the Anglo population in Quebec? (This last one is a joke, heh)
Thank you Jimmy for your comments on some of the problems within the traditionalist community. It's about time this topic was discussed fully and in an unbiased manner.
I'm not Catholic. I have been attending an Anglican church, but I am loving your podcast. Pints with Aquinas is making me more firm in my faith. I feel smarter and more secure in my beliefs. God bless you and your show. This guest is so fascinating and he lives in Arkansas. That is where my wife and I would like to retire.
I'm not all the way through this video yet, but it's already one of my favorites. I've always wanted to sit down and have a long conversation with Jimmy Akin. This is the next best thing.
It’s hard for all of us to accept that our feelings or opinions shouldn’t rule or carry more weight if any. A student of History gives us a proper healthy perspective amidst all the craziness. I appreciate this talk
When I attended the Lutheran Chuch my husband grew up in, the liturgy was exactly like the Novus Ordo. The only difference between their liturgy and the one I grew up with in the 1980’s was that the Lutheran pastor just wore his black shirt and a collar, and the Lutheran church still had a high altar and a communion rail. That was the first time I saw people kneeling for communion. I grew up going to church with my friends, and several were evangelical Lutheran. The mega church kind. The Lutheran church my husband grew up in was the only Protestant church I’d ever been in that did things the way we did. Later I learned that we had changed our liturgy to be more like theirs. We were doing things the way they did, and it was a change to our tradition. I do think this helped my husband convert. But now we attend the TLM mass, and it feels much more reverent.
Not sure why this popped into my head, but I would LOVE to see Jimmy Akin get jacked at the gym. Also, he would have a brilliant routine. Powerbuilding Jimmy would be such a Chad move.
Thank you, Jimmy for your comments about the "TLMers" who have ruined it for the rest of us! I'm so tired of their attitude, and it's really hard to treat them charitably. I converted to the Catholic Church around the same time as you, and have experienced a broad range of liturgical variations from junk to beautiful lovingly celebrated liturgy. It breaks my heart to see the crazy extremes of people who want liturgical dance and silly "entertainment" at mass to friends who have run to a schismatic Latin mass.
This is the only thing making my wait tolerable at the DMV. Jimmy Akin is so informative and thoughtful. He helped me through my equally terrible RCIA in 2020. I’m excited for the clips to share with my husband!
Also, vis a vis Francis dictat against the TLM: NO attendees and priests frequently scorn TLM adherents. Why does it only go one way? Because anytime I ever told a boomer or super charismatic type that I loved the old liturgy, the revulsion and comments about weirdos and fundies is frequent. Never met a trad who says a thing about the NO. Amazing
You obviously haven't talked to people outside your community or been online. Plenty of "Trads" hate the NO and even misunderstand just how much Protestantisation is in the Tridentine liturgy.
@@renjithjoseph7135 I'm not a member of a "TLM Community". I've only been to two diocesan TLM offerings in my 43 years of life. The priests and any fellow parishoners with whom I've discussed TLM or traditional priests (one priest in our diocese wears a cassock and at an ordination for a priest from my town, several of my fellow residents mentioned how gross the cassock is). In my online activities, I chat with TLM adherents frequently and have only had one negative interaction when I told somebody I was moreover solely a NO attendee. So, no, I don't need to get out my community. Perhaps you need to. As for protestantation in the TLM, please share.
1:08:28 Just a quick point here. Jimmy asks Matt what he means by the term "gaslighting" before answering. He does it in a very kind and respectful manner, while also signaling that he sees some problem in this term. This is one of many small examples where Jimmy shows how to be an excellent listener and interlocutor. When I think how I can improve my communication with people, I think of people like Jimmy!
Instead of listening to his advisors maybe he should meet with the laity and see for himself. Don’t meet with just the priests and bishops. Why would a pope not meet with the laity when he can meet with famous people? Saying we brought it in ourselves because we hate the pope and use it as a rally cry against him and Vat ll is a lie. The only person I’ve ever met that had that view that I knew irl was not even a confirmed catholic and he never made his first communion. When I pushed him on it he said he couldn’t commit to the catholic faith. Who are these people that Jimmy talks about? Seems like everyone who thinks traditional Catholics are like this don’t know them in real life. That’s a problem.
Jimmy some of your opinions are very strange and are even against Church teaching like the "psychic ability test" you did with the host of your Mysterious World podcast. I too think Daniel O'Conner should be a guest on Pints with Aquinas so he can school Jimmy Akin.
1:56:00 Really, Matt? You would stoop so low as to compare the distinction between Marshall and Lofton to that between Fox News and CNN? First of all, that's giving CNN way too much credit. Lofton's substantively correct 90% of the time, and he's completely orthodox in his views about Catholicism. He provides thorough reasoning for all of his "controversial" positions, which are mostly just clarifications in response to the onslaught of disingenuous hype. It's only the pearl-clutchers on the "right wing" who seem to have any sort of a problem with him. Akin was right to bring up NCR. They're way out there. You see, THAT would be a legitimate comparison. I'm telling you, there's a strange whirlpool going on in rad-trad Catholicism these days. You might call it a weak Votex. "Oh, no! He's DEFENDING the POPE against MY version of Catholicism?!? That's bordering on heresy. Don't worry, I'm still Catholic. I AM, however, going to ramble on senselessly about the Pachamama incident (even though it's all hype), but I'll do it nicely." Gimme a break, Matt. Truly, that's disappointing of you. If people are "confused" about things, they should at least have the humility to ask before they accuse, especially if they call themselves Catholic and the subject is the Pope, for crying out loud!
Matt bringing up Lofton may not have been the best comparison, sure. However, he seemingly clarified his position, contrasting a perception of Marshall (being overly critical of non-trads) with a perception of Lofton (being overly critical of trads). Even if you disagree with one of those perceptions, should we not be more charitable towards Matt?
@@teauxmateaux8804 I suppose Matt could have meant something different, but that seems far-fetched given his penchant for dabbling in the ole rad-trad apologetics. Fortunately, the two seem to have patched things up since Lofton appeared on Pints (if I recall correctly), and I commend Matt for that. I didn't realize it had happened when I posted the comment, and I'm glad if that is the case. Nonetheless, I really don't see how you could accuse me of being as uncharitable towards Matt as he was towards Michael in this clip. There's a fine line between charity and gullibility.
@@ignatiusjackson235 Thanks for the response. I do not mean to start some fuss online, so I appreciate the way it was done. If there was a rift, and it has been repaired, then praise God. That is great. As far as an accusation of uncharity goes, I am not trying to merely point the finger and place the entirely of the blame on you. Matt probably could have been more particular in his phrasing so as to eliminate doubt of what he was saying. And yes, the conversation could have encompassed a larger set of Catholics by using Jimmy’s example. However, others in the comment section, whether you agree or not, have noted that they have sometimes felt criticized by those like Lofton for having issues with the chaos going on. Thus, Matt saying that some having that perception of him seems to be, at worst, imprudent if you believe Marshall to be so extreme on one side that Lofton being brought up in the same conversation puts him up as some sort of radical progressive. But the conversation was about the perception of certain groups. For the rad-trads, the perception from Francis’ view is that they are troublemakers. A critic’s perception of Taylor is that he sows derision, and the one of Lofton is that he can ignore concerns. As far as the line between charity and gullibility, it’s clear that we should inform ourselves to be able to steel ourselves against error. However, charity is clearly more important. I just thought there could have been a better way to bring up the concern you are expressing, either by asking Matt for clarification on what he meant or by proposing your reasons why you think Matt’s characterization was unfair.
@@teauxmateaux8804 Taylor Marshall does, in fact, sow derision. Michael Lofton hasn't ignored any legitimate concerns. He dismantles them. He takes you step by step through the actual rigorous paperwork. Marshall, on the other hand, freaks out about Pachamama statues for clicks when it's literally a nothing burger. I'll own up to the fact that I might have spoken rashly, though not unreasonably so. If Matt truly was referring to CNN as the comparably centrist source it used to be in the '80s and '90s, I would view his comparison of CNN to Lofton in a higher regard. I just don't see that being the case, given (1) that CNN has replaced "MSNBC" in the popular vernacular as a talking point for liberal media, which is fair because CNN has become more socially liberal in recent years, and (2) that Matt himself has had quite a few conservative guests on that have said absurdly ridiculous things, i.e. that Pittsburgh conservative who attempted to critique Marx when he clearly hadn't even read Das Kapital, or an otherwise excellent guest who dropped the term "PLANdemic" with no pushback from Matt. It's not so crazy of me to assume (with such empyrical evidence) that Matt was being uncharitable to Michael here. All I did was call him out on it. That's admonishing the sinner, which is a spiritual work of mercy. It was never my intention to demean him for the sake of my own ego, nor was I attempting to tear him down for the sake of it. I was only expressing my disappointment with his seemingly ill-informed and uncharitable approach. If i got it wrong, I apologize for having done so, but it obviously wasn't done without sufficent reasoning.
@@ignatiusjackson235 I don’t necessarily disagree that Taylor can often sow derision and Lofton has sometimes tried to handle criticisms. My issue was only with the way it was expressed. Instead of accusing Matt of stooping so low with Lofton, it would seem more productive and charitable to approach another way. It’s the difference between saying, “Matt, I cannot believe that you would stupidly agree with the rad trads like Marshall,” and saying, “Matt, the bit about Marshall and Lofton came off as a bit too harsh on Lofton, and I think many of us would appreciate hearing more of some of the great and productive things people like Lofton do.” The same message would apply to someone accusing Jimmy of dissing the rad trads because Jimmy said that he understands how someone might react negatively to the public perception of them. In a similar way that a really ugly message from a trad about how Francis is being unfair only enforces the idea that they are a bad group and in no way brings people closer to the beauty of the TLM that they want others to know, I think the point you try to make would’ve come across more convincingly if better stated.
Moo goo gai pan!!!! This was amazing! I learned so much - especially about how to very respectfully discuss things with people who disagree with you. I loved how much sense Jimmy made on issues regarding the TLM and Pope Francis - even to help dear Matt have some peace. I loved the mystery stories! AND I absolutely love that Jimmy is a artistic choreographer who uses the invisible grid to plan dance steps while the music makes colors in his brain while discussing hard rational facts about the church and cool science stuff with hand gestures that look like emotion, but are really the work of filing facts in hyper-phantasy inboxes!!!! God is so cool! Very grateful God made a Jimmy Akin!

Every time I hear the story of Jimmy's wife I'm moved to tears. I cannot imagine the amount of pain one would go through to lose someone so suddenly yet so drawn out.
Jimmy Akin is the best! Instead of throwing oil on fires, he brings reason and a historical perspective to problems and exemplifies a true humanity.

When i was investigating the Catholic Church, I read Surprised By Truth which included the story of James and Renee Akin. The story affected me powerfully since i was enduring suffering that i didnt understand what to do with.
Liturgical preference defer to the spiritual needs of the people that make those contents.
My diocese won’t allow ad orientem.

6+ hours with the goat... this calls for cinema 🎥 popcorn 🍿
Seamus is going to be pissed

This is perfect, thank you!
That's wild!
I’m only 90 mins in so far, but this conversation is one of the most important and beautiful conversations I’ve seen on the internet in a LONG time!
Moogoogaipan
I’ve been waiting so long for this episode. I’m a huge admirer of both Jimmy and you, Matt. I listen to every episode of both Pints and Mysterious World. I really appreciated this episode and tragically missed getting to go to Steubenville the other night. Thanks a lot for this though, easily my favorite episode so far.
Moogooghaipan my husband I listened. We are fans of both Matt and Jimmy 6:23:44
I didn't watch the video but listened to all six hours on via podcast. And yes, I made all this effort to type moogoogaipan.
As someone who's recently made the decision to convert to Catholicism, thank you Pints team and Jimmy Akin for all of your fruitful work.
Thanks Matt and Jimmy, ye are so humble, I thank God for voices like ye, so comforting. God bless ye 🙏☘🇮🇪😊
Moogoogaipan! Jimmy, you are a legend. I loved this so much! We definitely need a sequel
Jimmy is such a treasure. I could listen to him all day.
Well said - that was deeply upsetting and disturbing to me.
@@bethmcmullan7686🎯
@@Monserratt-xb8tiDid you notice that, in the entire interview, the ONLY part where Akin appeared to lose his temper, raise his voice, and become visibly agitated was when the topic of Francis' legitimacy as the pope and the TLM was brought up? Maybe I'm reading too much into his demeanor, but it certainly gave me the impression that he has a deep seated feeling that Benedict's resignation really could have been canonically in error. See Canon 188. Just a thought.
Single best Pints episode that was coincidentally the longest episode of anything I’ve ever watched.
Moogoo Gai Pan 4 life.
Moogoogaipan! I did not watch them all straight through. Thank you Matt and Jimmy for all you do!
1:14:30-1:16:00 - Couldn't disagree with Jimmy more here. If have six children, and it would be unjust of me to punish all of them for the wrongdoing of one of them. That's not what good fathers ought to do.
Thank you Jimmy Akin for your amazing service for God and his one True Church
Jimmy is one of my favorite people that God has ever made, ever.
Didn't watch it live, but watched the entire stream at a later stage. Absolutely wonderful!! I wish there was more
moogoogaipan
I love Jimmy Akin so much. His love and devotion to his late wife is so inspiring. Among so many other things about him!
Moogoogaipan ❤❤❤ this was amazing!!! Love Jimmy
When he talked about what his wife went through, and just so "matter of fact" about it, I almost broke up into tears.
Moogoogaipan! I converted to Catholicism in 2016. Thank you for this episode, Jimmy Akin and all of those at Pints.
Moogoogaipan! Best episode of PWA ever, in my opinion. 😊🙏🏼 God bless!
As a Québécois, I'm glad to see Matt understands our concerns with protecting French! And it's so rare to hear about Québec outside of Canada (and in an understanding way) it just makes me happy! 😅
Great conversation! Thank you both!
I think Quebec should belong to the anglos.
@@thelonelysponge5029 Cool. I think a nation should have the right to self-govern. ✌️
Then the population died down and now the French people want Quebec to be its own separate nation, to protect its French identity from dying…
Am I getting it so far?
As a Catholic with criticism of pope Francis, I truly appreciate this conversation.
I'm not all the way through this video yet, but it's already one of my favorites. I've always wanted to sit down and have a long conversation with Jimmy Akin. This is the next best thing.
WHAT JIMMY AKIN FOR 6 HOURS!?🔥
It’s hard for all of us to accept that our feelings or opinions shouldn’t rule or carry more weight if any. A student of History gives us a proper healthy perspective amidst all the craziness. I appreciate this talk
Thank you Jimmy for the way you are framing the current situation on the state of our church. It gives me hope.
Moogoogaipan! Couldn’t do it all at once but loved every minute. Thank you both for such a wide ranging education. God bless.
This is exactly what I needed! 6 hours of someone super smart making me feel like I'm also super smart.
I agreed. His whole explanation about the Latin Mass is incredible.
Jimmy is a treasure and a gift from God. May God bless him and continually keep him in grace 🙏
Moogoogaipan. Took me about a week, listening to 30 min to an hour at a time when I could. Very informative as is any conversation with Akin. Thanks!
I'm only half way through the episode, but I need to ask: why are so many people saying "moogoogaipan"?
@@CaitlynHallart if you watch till the end, it’ll be very clear why everyone is saying it 😊…. Trying not to give it away completely 😅
I think Daniel O’Connor should be allowed an opportunity to offer a defense to the Aliens argument.
I second a million times. Daniels beliefs make a hundred times more sense to me spiritually than Jimmys.
Some want William lane Craig on Joe Rogan, I want Jimmy Akin on Joe Rogan.
Yes that would be excellent
Moogoogaipan I had to watch in 30 minute chunks over the course of several days on my drives to and from work, but it was worth it.
So there is photographic memory, and then there is Jimmy Akin Memory. Huge difference!
