Instead of zip tying the bottom crates, could the bottom crates be hinged on back side ?
Connie Morris I'm not sure what you mean, hinged together so they open?
Laci Jane DIY yes, use hinges that would allow the top to open from the bottom. That is if both top and bottom crates can be stacked upright. Your thoughts on this please . BTW, love your creativity !!
Connie Morris these milk crates suck. I got some real milk crates in going to make a new video. I think u could do that with real milk crates though! But don't get these cheap ones from target. u can't stack them right

I would like to use the bottom storage too is that possible?
SHAWANNA TART you could do what Ginger baby suggested and cut a hole in the bottom so that it connects the 2. unfortunately with these milk crates, they aren't symmetrical on all 4 sides so I couldn't stack them differently. If you're able to find the real milk crates that are a square, you could stack them so the bottom is facing out, giving you open storage on the bottom and then you could put bins in them to hide the clutter.
Dang! That's awesome! Should have cut out the bottom & sanded down the edges to make the cubbies longer! For more stuff! Really cool!

Laci Jane DIY it's first store in canada was in 2013 and it filed for bankruptcy in 2015 when the stores also closed. so it barely lasted a year, since it couldn't compete
