In 2024, National Bail Out and partner organizations bailed out Black mamas and caregivers across the nation in Birmingham, Alabama; Little Rock, Arkansas; Oakland, California; Miami, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Prince George's County, Maryland; Detroit, Michigan; Kansas City, Missouri; New York City, New York; Bridgeton, North Carolina, Durham, North Carolina, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Houston, Texas, and Lubbock, Texas.
We do this because we believe that no mama should be caged.
We do these bail outs in the tradition of our ancestors who bought their families freedom.
We #FreeBlackMamas because we want an end to money bail and pretrial detention.

The National Bail Out coordinates the Black Mama’s Day Bail Outs, where we bail out as many Black Mamas and caregivers as we can so they can spend Mother’s Day with their families where they belong!
The National Bail Out also provides fellowship and employment opportunities for those we bail out in order to support their growth and create a national community of leaders who have experienced incarceration.
We also work with groups across the country to support ongoing bail reform efforts and create resources for organizers and advocates interested in ending pretrial detention.
