    as a Japanese viewer:
    1:34 the original sentence says “1マス”(Ichi-masu), it usually means one area of grid background.
    so it’s difficult to solve this puzzle by using a different scale square.
    8:58 in the first paragraph,
    “The minor planet P, its diameter is less than 1km, and has no bumps and dips, it is regarded as research target perfectly spherical planet, so 2 researcher were dispatched.”
    sorry for poor translation. I hope this helps your thinking.
    and Thank you Icely, for touching puzzles form Japan!

    For anyone who still hasnt figured out the solution to the puzzle at 9:00
    You put the luggage at slot 1 and since dispatcher A can climb 1 high steps the luggage basically created a complete staircase on the left but since the planet is completely spherical, dispatcher A can go the long way around to dispatcher B.

    • @rickole7404
      @rickole7404 9 месяцев назад +44

      I don't like how the question was phrased. "Spherical" implies it's a 3D world (yes the Japanese text said "spherical" not "circular"), so the astronaut could just go around the obstacle without having to go around the globe

    • @relatal
      @relatal 9 месяцев назад +26

      @@rickole7404 I've also thought about that and I knew that it would break the whole puzzle and so I assumed it was just bad phrasing of their sentence and actually meant circular even in the Japanese writing

    On the hamster one, you don't need to assume that the green is flat-side-up, because the red piece to the side is shorter than the rest; necessarily meaning that part of it is UNDER the green.
    These were all really easy, like 30 seconds is the longest one took me.

      "If there's a fork in the road, and one road sign says "" which way should you go to not be stuck in traffic?"
      and then theres the seven squares of chocolate, and plenty other puzzles that are bullshit, because the only non bullshit PL puzzles are ones that can be considered math and geometry homework for 12 year olds, like the "my sister is three times older than me, but in 6 years she'll ony be twice older" or the "square of area 1 is in a circle in a square in a circle in a square, find the size of the big square" which is just tedium and not bullshit troll logic

  • @underrated1524

    The solution I was thinking of for the second troll puzzle is much simpler. Remove the black square from underneath the fish so the fish falls to the ground where you can access it. I mean, it's technically not written in the rules that the fish is affected by gravity, but then, neither is the fact that you can fall into the tutorial room from above.

    • @_P2M_

    Ben's Comments:
    I think I get it now, most trick puzzles involve circumventing the rules in some way - which isn't that fun - but these trick puzzles involve a little nuance in the rules which gives the puzzles an extra dimension, turning them from seemingly impossible to certainly possible.
    Bad trick puzzles want you to break the rules, but good trick puzzles hide something extra in plain sight, you just have to find it.

    For the second puzzle, I wish it specified that you can only move a 1x1 square, since I ended up with a not-so-satisfying solution involving moving a 3x3 chunk. The actual solution is really nice though.

      put box on 1, jump over to the left, remembet the planet is a perfectly spherical minor planet and therefore left edge loops to right, A and B can happily be together again

    I don't understand why people find puzzles like these exciting or interesting. More often than not they're contrived and the solution isn't to think and figure it out, but to look at the image as long as possible and find something that sticks out. Which is really stupid because every puzzle has a slightly different style and what someone would consider a solution another person would consider a coincidence or artistic freedom.
    An example for a bad puzzle imo is the penguin puzzle. The rules aren't clear enough to tell you you aren't allowed to move a 3x3 square. The fish on its tile is floating a bit above it so it's fair to assume that if you remove the tile below it that it would just keep on floating there. And your solution shows the last point i had about the solution/coincidence.
