With this worldcup you really saw how a 30 plus year old Ronaldo slows his team down. If he's not scoring he's a liability. Then you see a 30 plus year old Messi can sit back and pull the strings, can still have the play go through him.

During that period barca were on their downfall which they have not recovered from and Messi carried them. While Ronaldo was part of that powerhouse team. Is the aesthetic, style of play, effectiveness and consistency. The last two he is hands down best. But aesthetic - Ronaldhino and R9 both better (Messi admits this himself) and style of play is subjective.

What a show! I have never seen such magic! And Hands down, the best of them all is Sir Lee Judges. Such grace, such intelligence and the footballing IQ is bar none the best I've heard in a while. I am convinced messi is the greatest of all time but one thing I question is that now a days the way players protected by the referees and I saw clips of maradona and he was kicked by the opponents all the time. Would messi play consistently like he did if he was kicked like mardona did. I dont think so.

Come on Lee, u guys are always talking about how technically gifted and physically superior defenders are today, Messi ran through four, five six of them regularly, leaving them literally in the dust as they fall over each other trying everything to stop him and can't even touch him. Also if you are going to judge it on World Cups then Pele is the 🐐 with 3 World Cups. Yes Messi did something in this World Cup but previous World Cups he was quite average and he didn't deserve the Golden Ball in 2014. I can't wait till Messi and Ronaldo retires so we don't have to hear this question again. Yes Argentina played well in the Final but they were helped a lot to get to the final.
