Finally found a video that explains my situation, i have been having issues with tight armholes my dresses always fit well but my problem has always been the armhole. Im going to be trying this for my next dress and I hope it works
I had a dress pattern that the sleeve cap wasn't working for me on. The cap height was too long and limited my mobility. Your video gave me the confidence to try to redraft it. It took a couple of tries to get it just right, but it works so much better now for what I wanted. Thank you so much for your guidance.
That's really great! I'm so happy you were able to improve your outfit. This is such a common problem and we always end up ignoring the outfit as a bad fit. You're welcome.
Am drafting an outerwear jacket and have been puzzling about how high I want the sleeve cap. Like you my normal cap height for a fitted sleeve is around 6". However, I would like to have a bit more mobility for my arm and think that a 4" cap (and wider bicep) would offer that. Thank you for a great demonstration - I already have a fitted sleeve drafted and now I know how to adjust it to the desired height.
Thanks! It is the Kearing French Curve 1311. I got mine from Alibaba. it goes together. The scye should be big enough to comfortably rotate the arm without biting into the skin. Then, the sleeve cap height should be adjusted to attain the amount of mobility that you want.
Awesome, straight down to the point. No unnessary chatting. Thank you so much for this. You answered my question.

You're welcome 😊
Thank you for the wonderful explanation!
You're very welcome!
I wonder if this change will affect the length of the shoulders or if everything remains the same on the blocks thanks
No, it doesn't affect the shoulders.
❤❤❤
Is this same technique in adjusting a high armhole for a coat in order to have a clean sleeve but with enough mobility at the scye?
it goes together. The scye should be big enough to comfortably rotate the arm without biting into the skin. Then, the sleeve cap height should be adjusted to attain the amount of mobility that you want.
Whooooo, far too complicated for me!
