    New Mexico has a wide range of housing prices depending on which town you choose. In Tucumcari, you can get a 2,000 sq foot brick, nice home in a nice neighborhood for around 100k. Tucumcari is remote, but has two huge lakes for boating nearby. Some retired people including myself find this to be a nice place. The crime rate in Tucumcari is very low. This is mostly because everyone knows each other and talks a lot.

    Yes it's a GREAT STATE but it is also CAR THEFT CAPITAL OF THE US in Albuquerque north east side. Part of the east side is the WAR ZONE. Mesilla (Mesi- Ya) is a beautiful place Corral-es is a nice little place. I moved to the War Zone six years ago, from San Diego, CA. Albuquerque is MUCH NICER. But many of the small towns are even better, like Pietown and Madrid (MAADrid, they get touchy about its pronunciation) and Las Vegas. The state is becoming VERY popular with the movie and television people, (Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Ho.eland, Independance Day 2, etc). We also have the VLA Very Large Array that was featured in Contact.

      @donovanfoto3263 2 года назад

      Shaun Schnapp: I heard that in San Diego, CA. I lived on the border for years and saw more Blacks and Whites breaking into cars. Then one night, coming back from Tijuana, I was in line ahead of two HISPANICS that just met. In Spanish the one guy told the other he had just gotten caught by the Border Patrol. He told them he was illegal and didn't speak English, he had no papers. They kicked him back into Tijuana. He then had a beer or two and crossed back to catch the trolley home.
      It might be Hispanics but I doubt it was actual Mexicans.

    This video provides minimum information for average humans interested in moving to New Mexico for a change in lifestyle, which may be a wise choice for many. These comments are only my opinions, but I have lived in New Mexico since 1974, so at least I'm familiar with most of the state. It seems to me that this presentation is mainly a realtor's pimping of crime-wracked greater Albuquerque (four of the seven destinations), with a nod to the Los Alamos National Labs area (two of the seven) for those who may wish to live in a rich-brainiac bubble. The mention of Mesilla (pronounced muh-SEE-ya, by the way) was an interesting choice, but there is very limited housing available within that Las Cruces suburb. If you're truly considering a move to the Land of Enchantment, do more research, and if possible, visit the state.

    Hi, I'm a New Mexico native, as were my parents and grandparents. It is obvious you don't know much about New Mexico. Eastside does not exist. Albuquerque has an east side of the city, and it is close to the mountains, but whatever you're calling Eastside is Albuquerque proper. As for Sandia Heights, Albuquerque proper again. It is not a town, it's a neighborhood in Albuquerque. I've never heard it called Sandia Heights. Rio Rancho is on a sand filled mesa top. The only water up there is on the golf courses. There are no mountain valleys there as you pictured. Not a bad place but not represented well by your video. Corrales, Mesilla, close enough. Los Alamos and White Rock are practically closed communities. You have to work at LANL to live there, for all intents and purposes. Unless you work at Buger King or Walmart. As for schools, our state is ranked last among the 50 states, same with child welfare. There are a very few good public schools. Very few. Private education is not bad.
    I love my state, wouldn't live elsewhere, but Albuquerque is violent and crime ridden. Please come visit. Then go home.

    I am so sorry for the haters 😭 below but whatever you say I still want to live here! I Saw what happened at the Albuquerque Walmart shooting. I still say I would rather live here than NYC! Cuomo has driven out small businesses here. In NM I could probably get more for my $$$$$ down here than new York state. I still want to teach here! ✌️🤔👏🌷💕💋💝🕊️🙏 Peace ❗

    Sorry but 2 things I tool away from this video
    1. She needs to learn how to pronounce these places. So easy to say & she butchered it.
    2. Some of these places are considered the worst places in NM for highest crime rates in NM & for being over the national average, high unemployment rates, & price of living.
    3. God she butchered the names so bad🤕

    I never comment on on videos but I have to weigh in. I’ve lived here 20 years. At first I thought this video made as a joke. The video doesn’t match the narration. There is no East Side in ABQ. The pronunciations of cities aren’t even close. It’s obvious whoever put this together has NEVER been west of the Mississippi.

    LOL - the narration was done by a robot voice synthesizer, not an actual human. It’s also weird that this was put together by someone who has never been to New Mexico - where did they get their information? Even Wikipedia is better than this by far.

  • @tomschonborg439

    Let's face it. You don't know anything about New Mexico. You just did a couple Google searches, borrowed some stock video footage, and slapped together a video. If you're really interested in learning about New Mexico, ignore this video. Let me start by saying I live near Albuquerque, NM. I've lived here for over 26 years. So I know what I'm talking about because you're talking about my home. Eastside is not a town. It's just the east side of Albuquerque. That section of Albuquerque also includes some of the highest crime areas in the city. Rio Rancho is not a suburb, it's an actual city. The petroglyphs are in Albuquerque, not Rio Rancho. I used to live about a mile down the road from the petroglyphs. Corrales is surrounded by Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. 90% of the pictures you've shown are not for the community you were talking about at the time. Buying a home in most of the areas you've mentioned may seem affordable to someone who doesn't know New Mexico. The fact is, finding a job that will allow you to afford one of those homes is difficult at best. For example, White Rock is great but your only real employment opportunity that pays enough to afford a home there, is Los Alamos National Labs. Same goes for the town of Los Alamos itself. You also overlooked the largest National Lab in the country, Sandia National Labs located in Albuquerque. Sandia Labs employs over 12,000 people. So it's a pretty significant employer in Albuquerque.
    Now lets talk about how badly you butchered the names of so many places. I'm white and your pronunciation of Hispanic words is causing me absolute fits. Probably helps that so many of my in-laws and friends are Hispanic. If you come to New Mexico there's a good chance that if a word looks "funny" to you, you don't know how to say it properly so just ask. We'll be happy to help you out.
    Warning to people from out-of -state: We have the best Chile in the world but our definition of "hot" food and yours may differ quite a bit. Ask for a sample before you go all out ordering something with chile on it. If you really think you can handle the heat, ask a local where to go to get good chile and not the weak stuff we feed to tourists.

    Ive lived in the Albuquerque are for 17 years and never heard of a town called EastSide, unless you just mean the east side of Albuquerque or the East Mountains which is a collection of towns in the mountains firming the city's eastern boundary. You need to work on your research and learning a little about your subject before you present. Lousy Video. Its pronounced Ma-see-ya. Its Spanish. I never want to see more videos like this.
