Best explanation I've seen for all the different toe pads solutions. Great job! Thank you!!

I wish this video was linked under each toe pad product, it would have saved me $15. The Toe Savers are so thick, but they call their product ultra thin. It's insane.

Thanks for the great tips, ms Greer! Recently I have been troubled by my left big toe nail. It snapped in the middle (horizontally if you know what I mean). I taped it, sticked gel dots on the platform but it happened again and it bled a lot this time...so I went to get the big tips, planing on trying it. Do you think I’m doing the right thing? Am I stuffing too much? ...my right feet are wider and has absolutely no trouble and only need one ouch pouch. It’s gaynor and it is really easy to dance in and comfy otherwise so I am really reluctant to change the shoes. Is it a common thing amongst dancers? Do you have any advice for me? 🙏 thank you

      Hey Kay,
Thanks for your question. Ouch! That sounds painful. I would definitely recommend the Big Tips by Bunheads. Also wrap that toe with the broken nail with a lot of tape like you’ve been doing. I would recommend that you make sure your toe nails are trimmed down (not too short, but short enough so it isn’t creating pressure on the nail bed while en pointe.) Also, it sounds like you could possibly do well in a shoe that is slightly more tapered to alleviate pressure on the big toe. If you’re wearing Gaynor box 4, I may try the new 3+. It has more taper to the box. Maybe also try a box liner from Gaynor. It can prevent you from slipping down in to a shoe.
Let me know if any of these solve your problem.
      Happy dancing!

DiscountDance thanks very much for the detailed advice! I’ll try all the above to see which ones work for me the best. Recently my right big toe started to be like that too...planning to get refitted. I will bear your suggestion in mind when I pick the new shoe. Thank you again Greer! Have a nice day :)

My mom doesn't let me order things online, so I have to wear toilet paper, any other homemade recommendations?

Go to the area in a store where they have insoles for your shoes. They should have different options for padding for corn or a bunion. Or tapes even, you can even buy loose lambs wool in some stores.

You need to go to a dance store! That is not okay that she won’t let you get other things
