Im obsessed with 143vinyl! They are amazing!
I bought several of these and just happen to find your video...love it!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you
Adorable!! From Florida
YOU ARE AWESOME!!!
You rock!--Lindsay
So cute ❤️
Thanks Crystal!
DIY Alex, where did you get the cow and lemon? Did you buy them premade or did you make them? Thanks!
I am so glad to hear that you actually wear a respirator. So many people doing videos with this product don't say that you should. I decided you a non toxic alternative because I didn't want to risk it and I don't want to craft with a respirator.
I understand that!
It's been forever since I've seen one of your videos, last one was with 143vinyl!
I’m so glad we reconnected!!
It’s first time using the resen I bought it at hobby lobby I’m using it for my moles
I’m so glad you say “oh my gosh” my ears irk every time I hear everyone else say it improperly 😁
Not sure if you mentioned it in the video but when you purchase the acrylic are there SVG's to purchase with the exact sizes? or do you play around until you find the correct size?
Yes, the SVGs are pre-sized for you when you download! That’s not always the case, but it is with 143! ☺️
Can you do a tutorial making the resin Hot cheeto badge reel?
Can I apply this on a bottle of glass to cover acrylic painting? How many coats should I apply and how long should I put it under the uv light? I ordered the items on your list🥰
I would use epoxy resin, not UV resin for a glass bottle. It would be too big to fit under the UV lamp. But I think it would work with epoxy resin!
@@DIYAlex I actually just made my project! The bottles do fit under the lamp! They are perfume bottles 😉 Thank you for replying🙏
@@DIYAlex also... I learned that i can't apply that uv resin outside😳🥺... It started to dry as i poured😅 must've been too hot. Lol
I got some sublimation keychains off Amazon. I thought about using resin over my design to make shiny and maybe add glitter. What do you think?
UV resin is rigid and won’t work on flexible things. Do your keychains have any give?
@@DIYAlex that are similar to the acrylic ones you did.
@@lynnk9545 Then I think it's worth trying!
Did you try it? Curious to know if it worked for you ❣️
@@nataliediaz7166 no I didn’t. ☹️
So cute I can’t wait to try. Would it be ok to work outside if I really don’t want to buy a mask?
Yes, that would be fine as long as the temperature isn't below 60 degrees or so.
@@DIYAlex thank you 😊
And as long as you aren't in sunlight, because the sun will cure your resin.
Hi! If I want to draw an illustration on paper how can I glue it onto the circular acrylic blank without it popping off? I want to glue my circular illustration onto the circular acrylic blank and then put uv resin on top of the illustration as a protective layer for my badge reels for easy clean up
I would upload your design into Cricut design space and print it out on printable vinyl, then apply it to your acrylic. Regular paper won’t stay with UV resin.
What printer do you use to print off the designs onto the vinyl ??😍😍
I used a cricut machine. It’s different than a printer ☺️
How do you make the vinyl the same measurements as the shape you are putting it on?
You resize it in Design Space. Having an SVG file that matches the file (including the size) is really helpful.
Ok so what are the white blanks that you use? I know you mentioned the site but what material are they??
They aren't white, that's just the plastic covering. They are clear plastic acrylic blanks. These are badge reel acrylic blanks that are designed to be glued onto badge reels.
how thick are the acrylic blanks? If you don’t purchase the ones associated with the SVGs, can you get custom made ones for custom designs?
It would be a ton of work to get custom SVGs for your acrylics unless you design them yourself. I’m not sure how thick the acrylic is, but it doesn’t matter in this case,
Longview, Washington
Not sure if you said it. But why do you decide to add the vinyl to the glitter side and not the other side ?
It works either way, that’s just what I was feeling like that day ☺️.
Question: where are those Matts your doing the project on!? I love them! Need something like that for my projects
They are the Cricut brand self healing mats! They’re the best!
Can you use any glitter or do you like a specific one
Any glitter will work! I love Starcraft brand glitter personally!
York SC
My uv resin gets hard fast. And then the whole project gets tossed. Any tips? I usually do it outside, under shade
There must be too much UV light there. That's the only reason that UV resin would harden too fast. Try working in a less sunny area.
What glue can I use to glue it to the badge reel?
E600
Does this UV lamp work well with the UV resin? I purchased it but the wattage seems low. Have you had any issues?
I have not had issues with mine, but keep in mind that every brand is different! It may be the UV resin you’re using, humidity in the air, thickness of the layer, etc. so many factors contribute!
Where did you find the UV lamp?
The one you have
There is no svg file on 143 vinyl for the cow or the helmet
That is where I got the SVGs so I'm pretty sure they are there :)
Where do you get the shapes from? and what paper are they printed on?
The files are available on 143vinyl.com. All the shapes are cut out of vinyl using a Cricut machine.
Do you hago e to us Cricut machine. Sorry might be a dub question. But I’m new at this
Garland Texas
Do u sand the badge reel so they can stick too the uv resin ?
I don't, but I have seen many do that. I have never had an issue, and it just looks like an extra step to me.
I couldn't find your link for your supplies that you use on Amazon. :-(
You can use the link here! amazon.com/shop/diyalex
Question: what is the last step. Can you explain???
Do you mean gluing the acrylic onto the badge reel? You just put super glue on it and stick it and allow it to set.
What is that circle mat called & where did you purchase?
They are silicone trivets. I have them linked in my Amazon store under epoxy/ UV resin: www.Amazon.com/diyalex
@@DIYAlex this link isn't working
Texas
Mine are sticky, is there a way to fix this?
Put them in the sun and allow them to finish curing.
So could I use this UV resin with silicone molds?
Yes, with some silicone molds it works!
I’ve tried UV Resin several times but it’s always tacky. Why?
Usually your UV lamp isn’t strong enough. Make sure it’s at least 50 watts. Then use the sun as a backup to finish curing them.
So what is the “blank” made out of?
These are made of acrylic plastic.
Alex where did you grt the lemon im lost
It's on the SVG file downloads page for acrylic blanks on 143VINYL's webiste.
Where is the links at cuz I need some stuff
Everything is linked in the video's description :)
How do you cut vinyl
You’ll want to watch my Cricut for beginners series to learn more!
How long does e6000 takes too cure
It depends on how thick the coat is, but I'd say it's fully dry to use in a couple of hours.

Can I get the link for the silicone brush?
You did mention where you got them in the video and I found them, but next question. Is there a cheap way to learn and practice how to use the resin, before using the blanks?
Im so afraid to try this
Don't be! It's awesome!
