Remake's smoothness runs better due to packed locations and generally the combat is sort of better. Eg- in remake, Tifa is able to automatically jump and be airborne to close distances with the enemy. In Rebirth, this is not so. You have to manually use certain skills with other party members to gain air.
They made this way more confusing than it needs to be, and i still have no idea what the games are. Was there a remake of ff7? Are they both remakes? Are they just incomplete parts? Are they sequels? All i wanted was to play a remade version of ff7, and yet somehow despite releasing 2 different games it sounds like neither one is actually a complete version of a remade ff7. Why couldn't they just do 1 complete game with 1 name and be done with it? I don't want to buy anything because I have no idea what these games are and no video or article has ever explained it properly.

Remake has more back to back great moments. Rebirth follows a more game of thrones style something amazing happens every hour at the firm remake it's way darker and it is as close to a one-to-one ratio as possible rebirth straight far from the path even though I love the story. Remake side content is said to be more boring but rebirth has way too much of it kind of a something for everybody thing which usually doesn't work out. The combat simulator is hell. Rebirth is longer than remake but if you add in the DLC and all the extra content remake with episode intermission is about as long as the base rebirth story. Rebirth combat complexity is more extensive, but remake is just broken enough to be enjoyable and not too complex. I don't think rebirth should have had all those freaking mini games there are clearly way more than in the original Final Fantasy 7 talking 35 mini games, about. A lot of them are pretty long too especially if you want to get the best rewards and tying that to party level or weapon level or foliose is the stupidest thing ever

I have a close friend who works at Square that told me the ending/twist to this game and a little bit on the overall finale planned for part 3. Spoilers ahead! Don't read if you don't want this ruined! In the scene where Aerith normally gets killed by Jenova/Sephiroth, the big twist will be that multiversal Sephiroth or AC Sephiroth actually is the one who thwarts it and kills the part of Jenova before it happens. He understands that killing her is essentially the reason that he was defeated due to Aerith returning to the lifestream to bolster the effects of Holy, and countering meteor, it also gave Cloud his resolve in the end to beat him. He wants to avoid this and merge with himself at NC to be even more powerful and take over the planet. Aerith will ultimately sacrifice herself ( Thus satisfying both sides of fans that want her to die like in the OG game, but in a more dignified way for those who didn't like the first death), and that Zack will somehow come through to their world and help them stop the more powerful "Merged Sephiroth". They will finally defeat Sephiroth for good, and Zack will return to his world and find Aerith has awoken from her sleep with no recollection of the events in the alternate timeline, and they will end up together in his new "Good timeline". Advent children Cloud will also make an appearence at some point. I didn't get all the details here. Would explain why they re-released Advent children in theaters in preparation for all this.
Tbh I find it pretty asinine that you have to pay to continue where you left off in Remake, especially when the original (PS1/3/PC) has all 3 discs for $15 and you don't need to pay an additional $15 to play the other discs.

I'm gonna play on Dynamic Difficulty, I love that concept on FFVIII and Tactics. It's always boring on RPG games when you get overleved / overgeared early in game and nothing else threats you... especially for someone like me who likes to clear Sidequests at same time than the Mainquests 😤

The original FF7 was one game. It was too big to make nowadays. . So they split the one game into 3 parts. The first was called final fantasy 7 Remake. The second is Final fantasy 7 Rebirth. This is a good game for people who want to sink several years waiting for it to be complete. For others they can look elsewhere instead. Blue Chocobo doesn't fly. It walks over rivers and shallow sea. Black Chocobo does cross mountains, but it also does everything blue does too. No Chocobo could fly in FF7. I wish they didn't "Reimagine" the game, but made an updated game.... The "Active combat" puts me off so tremendously. Active combat was something you acquired over time through Materia combinations, so its very disappointing. Looks great, just can't get excited about it.

I agree that it has too much Nomura shit (he is smoking dmt it seems every day) like Barret ressurection, stupid ghosts etc. But it doesn't change the fact that thei nailed IMHO (!) the combat system and on hard game gave me same thrill as Dark souls and it is the biggest thrill I ever had in gaming. I loved menus, customization, the fact that all weapons were usable and story when it was following original + ok, I liked train graveyard for horror elements and vibe. OG now plays liek shit, I mean battle system aged awfully and is boring as hell especially after Persona 5 or Yakuza Like a Dragon and other turn based modern games. I also love the music. I'll be honest it's pretty bad. It's quite blurry, and sometimes it goes below 60 fps, but hopefully, a patch will fix them.

@marceloxtree If you are talking about steamdick. Sony would never do something like that since it would hold graphics back just like a switch does. You either make a good console or a good handheld can't take both. I would rather have a good console than a handheld on a tiny ass screen.

if you mean an action combat system than yes that is the only similarities between kingdom hearts and final fantasy 7 remake and rebirth. i cant wait to play the game on pc in about 3 months hopefully but it will probably be years.

@@true_gamer39 it's not really a sequel if you know the locations and already know what's up to a degree it's just a diffrent approach with some changes here and there it's more a reimagine. Calling it a direct sequel is misleading. But it's Final fantasy so if course it's getting complicated af still a remake/reimagine with a plot twist not a direct sequel in a classical sense.

This is a good game for people who want to sink several years waiting for it to be complete. For others they can look elsewhere instead.
Also this game isn't a recreation of the original game but a rework of it instead and this game also made this company don't have enough manpower to made other new games instead. Kingdom hearts,new final fantasy,front mission and parasite eve etc. All stuck in development hell and long development cycle because of ff7.

Blue Chocobo doesn't fly. It walks over rivers and shallow sea. Black Chocobo does cross mountains, but it also does everything blue does too. No Chocobo could fly in FF7. I'm 99.9% sure this is all correct for the original, but if they've changed things for the remake and what you've said is correct, then disregard what I've said and my apologies
This sounds terrible the game ends at the forgotten capital smh. I'm sorry the original still is number No wutai but their adding towns that weren't there make it make sense. I didn't hear anything about Vincent inhope you still get him at nibelhiem and get to unlock the safe with the key
square said it would be 3 games worth of content so i am not surprised i am looking forward to the game. I personally thought final fantasy 7 remake was really well done they did a good job on the game.

I wish they didn't "Reimagine" the game, but made an updated game....
The "Active combat" puts me off so tremendously.
Active combat was something you acquired over time through Materia combinations, so its very disappointing.
Looks great, just can't get excited about it.
So many useless hype videos before release. Hope it sells well because I really loved FF7R (it was underrated but aged extremely well).
U don't see it selling as well as remake because the truth is out now about what they did to the story, combat, etc

I agree that it has too much Nomura shit (he is smoking dmt it seems every day) like Barret ressurection, stupid ghosts etc. But it doesn't change the fact that thei nailed IMHO (!) the combat system and on hard game gave me same thrill as Dark souls and it is the biggest thrill I ever had in gaming. I loved menus, customization, the fact that all weapons were usable and story when it was following original + ok, I liked train graveyard for horror elements and vibe. OG now plays liek shit, I mean battle system aged awfully and is boring as hell especially after Persona 5 or Yakuza Like a Dragon and other turn based modern games. I also love the music. I just do not concentrate on Nomura and his acid trips. @@true_gamer39
i think it will still sell well. I thought the combat was amazing one of the best parts of the game. the Materia system and how they use it makes for great replay value in my opinion.@@true_gamer39
