    When Sammy died I was lucky to hear an interview with Tim Hunter. He made the point that Dave didn’t have too many fights ,but he was a real team guy who would do anything to win. Including sucker punching,gouging,tripping, slashing,hair pulling,charging,elbowing,high sticking biting etc

    Say what you want but back in the day don't you think you would feel a little more confident with a guy like that on your team. That goes for anyone who has played any competitive type of hockey back in the 80's.

    Dirty Dave Semenko. Too bad he couldn't play real hockey... just a major dirty goon who was one of five or six bodyguards for "The Overrated One". He was so much larger than most players. He should win most fights. Clueless commentators.

    • @iceman2796
      @iceman2796 5 месяцев назад

      Boy do you have that right. The announcers on some of those fights must have been blind. He didn't win any of those fights unless he jumped the guy. Tim Hunter hammered in one of the fights. Semenko had no talent at all. Just a very dirty so called player. If he paired off with anyone his size he got his ass kicked.

    It’s unbelievable how people can’t wrap their brains around how Bob Probert was not the best fighter or even the toughest player in NHL history🤣 it’s ok guys, I liked probert also, however, Nick Fotiu would have slapped him around in his prime. Probert was good at throwing the right haymakers over the top and sloppy with his left. Most of these guys are not skilled fighters, just brawlers. Fotiu was a real fighter, with power in both hands and when upset, he could and did hurt people. He was a real boxer and reported to be a pretty good one, and sparred regularly with Gerry Cooney and other ranked Pro heavyweight boxers. So yeah, I seen Fotiu lose a couple of fights if you want to call them that, mostly rabbit punches and clutch and grab bouts with Patterson and Randy Holt and Nystrom and the 2 Mcilhargey fights were no big deal. Nobody ever did any real damage to Nicky. He never got TKO’d like probert did against Todd Ewen and bloodied by Troy Crowder and pounded toe to toe by Coxe. He even got tired and badly outpointed and gave up against Jay Miller. Nicky only busted Up that same Coxe and broke his orbital bone and slapped Behn Wilson around sending him tap dancing like Gregory Hines. Nobody ever stood against him in a boxing stance and threw with him and did well. Fotiu was never bloodied or TKO’d or even had his knees buckled by anyone’s punch. Best fighter and hardest hitter with the best chin ever in the NHL and I’m a Flyers fan, and you know I hate the Rangers. Gillies avoided him, So did O’reilly and Plett and Schultz and Tiger Williams. Behn Wilson was throwing beatings around the league against guys like O’reilly and Gillies and Jonathan and Plett among others, and after Nick smacked him good, he never bothered Fotiu again. Just because he didn’t have resume with every enforcer on it, doesn’t mean much, it goes both ways, ask yourself why Fotiu wasn’t on their resume?🤨
