- LISTEN: Authorities released all of Ruby Franke’s jail calls chronologically after the RUclips mom was arrested in August 2023. The day after her arrest, Franke seemed to believe she would get off without consequences. By the end of December, she switched her tune after her co-defendant, Jodi Hildebrandt, entered a guilty plea to four charges of child abuse.

One issue that is really disturbing to me is that Ruby called her own children evil in the phone call with her husband and he had absolutely zero reaction. The father is just as guilty in this scenario. They should have charged him as a accessory in this abuse as well as abandonment of the children.

Based on his interviews & everything I’ve seen online one of the main reasons this was even possible is because he is a coward. It is clear he isn’t a fool or intellectually deficient.

Her arrest bodycam footage is bizarre. She becomes completely catatonic and just stares down the detectives.
The most chilling part is that She feels she’s done nothing wrong, in her twisted mind she was fighting demons that had possessed her kids’ bodies. Had R not scaped, both kids would’ve been starved to death or killed to “save their souls”
I pray that Kevin does not get these children. He is completely complicit in allowing this to happen.
I hope that Children's Services really study the old 8 Passengers videos as well as these phone calls before they even think about letting the kids go live with Kevin.

What's even worse is her kids know exactly how that feels. The fact that she was able to read that and somehow relate it to her own struggles instead of her children's struggles at her hands is so sickening. Absolutely sickening. I hope she's locked up for a long time.
How is it that the gentleman who made the 911 call, that EMT, the police officers on the scene has show more tears and concern for these children then their own parents?!
I'm sure you could probably include the hospital staff too. I'd be willing to bet they were bringing them their favorite foods and showing lots of love. I just hope they got a great foster family.

Yeah, that was so cold. She said she had compassion for everyone (including herself). But for her emaciated, duct-tape-wrapped children with infected wounds from being bound, she said 3 days in the hospital was not necessary and things are being exaggerated.
THIS is the comment I was looking for! That was the first thing that crossed my mind when she said she has compassion for complete strangers (women in jail with her) and for herself, yet her poor, brave, emaciated 12 yr. old son obviously didnt experience that same compassion from his own mother!
What normal, loving parent ties up her child & causes rope burns, puts cayenne pepper & honey mixture on the wounds, and then covers them with plastic wrap and duct tape??! Horrifying!!

@@eveFlower101 A lot of time transpired between those statements, but she is numb to her children's feelings and suffering and to the suffering of all children and any child. She never felt it at all even back when she was still filming the show. I didn't see her abuse diary. That must be upsetting to read. Jodi took an unfeeling disconnected mother and turned her into a complete and utter monster. I honestly don't think there is a way back from that either.

I’ll never forget the phone call that older gentleman made to 911 on that poor boy. The tears he held back: *I broke.* When the EMS worker began to cry: *I broke.* I believe the *entire world broke as well.* However, it was the *bruised* and *battered boy* who *hadn’t broke.* He *saved the day* & *started* the *healing process* for *his family,* for the *countless other victims,* for the *world* and *I pray,* for *himself.* I’ll always *believe him* to *be a hero.*

Kevin needs to be arrested. I can’t believe they didn’t charge him. She nearly killed his children and then had the audacity to call them evil and he says NOTHING in response to that! You can't convict someone who was not there in the house nor the state. When he was talking to her he also said they had not shown him any pictures of the kids so he, at that time, had no idea to the extent of the injuries. Is he totally innocent I don't know because I never saw their channel prior. But charging him for something that he was not there for nor doing is wrong.
Unfortunately, all this is not evidence.
Her husband is an accomplice. He stood by and saw all of the abuse that kept getting worse all the time. I look forward to hearing about the justice that takes place in prison. Her kids are not evil, CULTS ARE and SHE IS.

She’s crafty. This is what they mean by psychopaths as chameleons. They will adopt whatever the norms are of the people around them, flipping in a single day. We are supposed to believe that all it took was an (assessing, not therapeutic) session or two with a shrink, and him just repeating back a few things she said for her to see the error of her ways and for her to see that it was all the fault of Jodi who lied because she “knew” she was doing wrong - whereas Ruby, according to herself, was as a baby who literally doesn’t yet know what right and wrong are.

Reading the journal, seeing the videos of when the kids were first found, and the pictures of their injuries. It's all sickening. I can't wrap my head around it.

The delusion is THICK with these two. The fact that the dad did not step in and wonder why she has not shown concern for the kids speaks volumes. He should not get those kids and he should be in jail right with her.
He was a faithful cult member just following directions. People breeze right past him saying he was the “resident exorcist” when Jodi was possessed. When he left he was just following orders from his cult and then he was following his cult leader Jodi’s instructions on how to fix himself to get back to his family. Cult members don’t ask questions. They just do as they are told and that’s exactly what he did. I find it crazy that people advocate for him to get his kids back. Several time on videos she published to the world, she can’t suppress sniggers about inflicting things that are harsh and shocking to her kids. Like making the kids do a deep-clean before they get to eat that day. Like threatening her little girl (then aged about four) that she would cut the head off her binkie toy, if her daughter misused scissors. It was the shock and distress on the child’s face that made her light up. This is a sadistic woman. The extent and detail of their “evil” and their “punishments” that she wrote about - it has all the focus, intensity, incredible lingering attention of actual fetish fiction. It’s like reading one of those Anne Rice books, except it has none of the romantic interludes - and it’s about kids.

As much as I detest our foster care system; these children need to stay far away from their father, the grandparents also need to be investigated to see what they knew, but overall these kids need a new family. Anyone who saw those children on a regular or semi-regular basis, and did not report the obvious signs of abuse, is just as guilty and responsible for the heinous crimes committed against them.

The older daughter kept requesting welfare checks but nothing came from that.
The only one in that family I believe they are safe with is their oldest sister Shari. She moved out and cut off contact with the parents and requested welfare checks several times. More kids also let down by the system. Even if Shari gets them it's going to be so much responsibility for a 20 year old. I do believe she loves her siblings and wants to do whatever is best for them though.
Or, offer the home and care to family members and start over, changing the previous adults in this scenario is the main problem and necessary change! So, a form of guardianship in the home that already exists and having the other parents sign away their rights. Reboot this whole mess!!!

3 days in the hospital isn’t necessary? Saying the cops are over exaggerating everything. She is faking that she is remorseful and has seen the light. And so is her husband, both should never see or have those kids again. He is not man enough to tell her no and make those children a priority. Absolutely disgusting. I sure do hope that they are not “preaching” their beliefs onto others in prison. Also, I believe many more people were aware of what was going on besides these people. I think everyone involved should be arrested. I’m sick that the state won’t offer an opinion on Rubys parole when it comes time as part of the plea agreement.
