Awesome video! Helped me get my wife's car fixed! In the process I learned two things. I may have a slightly easier way to get to the grommet on the passenger side(I was working on an AWD, no idea if this carries to the FWD) bend back the heat shield on the passenger exhaust so the edge curls in on itself, stick your arm above the transmission so your elbow will be where the 45 deg exh elbow is (where the exh levels out). It felt like I had more room and if you feel like being frisky you can follow the instructions in the video and get BOTH arms around the transmission! For the second thing I learned, I apparently have girlfriend arms 😂. So your mileage may vary.
Dude!! Thank you for the video! My hands are way too big for that! Gonna try to get my girlfriend’s help on this. She’s got small hands! Once again, thank you!
so you dont have to put it back in? it rained and i found all of my carpets on my 07 GS soaked. dumped water into the sunroof drains and it came straight out so this is next.
As far as I know this only affected GS and select IS awd of these years. I would recommend checking the Club Lexus forums for info on problems from other owners. I too have a 2014 IS250, almost the same car, and no problems so far.

You funny dude
Will that be the same for the 2006 IS 350 RWD? Just asking in case you might know. Thanks for the video.
Did you get it figured out? I have the same car
Hello. Do you have to replace that rubber thing? I have the same problem my rear carpets are wet
Nope, the tech bulletin from Lexus says to just pull it out.
Vikesh Keeshan thank you sir! Appreciate your help. I will do the same then :)
Do you have to replace it after you take it out boss?
Nope, official tech bulletin said to just pull it. I think later year models had a revised grommet
I have an IS200t 2016, you think it’s the same?
