What do you think of the NUX Trident? Let me know!

Tough market. With Pod Go and offerings from BOSS, doesn't quite seem cheap enough not to want to go with another unit.

Not for me thanks. When amp sim developers start using 96Hz or oversampling and start addressing crimping, aliasing filters and artefacts, I'll have another look. I thought the tones from this sound harsh, aliased and crimped. Sorry. the nearest and nicest sounding so far to me is software only free NAM, but even that has it's own (admittedly fewer and less severe) issues, including a less pronounced digital artefact, but it only works in a consumer 48Hz, which means a load of compromises and disappointments, but definitely, the Open Source and free NAM is the only sensible way to go if you're looking for better. I definitely think we're on the cusp of something great, but not yet.

As someone said before it's difficult to decide when everything you test sounds good. Mere mortals need to learn to setup the gear like you.

      @SonicDriveStudio  Год назад +1

It's not hard. Choose a good IR and tweak the basic amp controls with as little other tools possible. So no EQ etc. Just keep it simple and male sure the guitar sounds good

Nice demo!! Question: Is there any significant difference between the Nux Trident and the Cerberus tonally? I like the effect insert options on the Cerebrus but the Trident seems to sound a bit more natural in the demos I've heard.

Cool!! Does it have spillover? If I have a preset with a delay and I change to another, does the delay continue playing until it fades out by itself or does it cut off?

i have some nux pedals, they are build very cheap but the sound is amazing, especially the nux plexi crunch 🖤

The Trident is really sturdy though, I'll give it that!

Hi Jon. I really love your fantastic channel full of inspiring contents. You helped me many times to buy new gear! 🎉🎉🎉🥂
I would like to ask if the music you play in your videos it’s written by you. If yes, do you have a website where it’s possible to find it and maybe to download the backing tracks and tabs? Thank you for your time! You’re really amazing! 🙏🏻

I have the NUX Cerberus, which is a very handy Swiss Army knife because it can be run at line level or at instrument level, but I had to take it off my board, where I used it in four-cable method, because it was sucking tone from my amps. I replaced it with the NUX Atlantis for delay and reverb (which is very similar to the reverb and delay section of the Cerberus), and the tone suck was resolved. So.... my question would be: How well does this perform in 4cm with good tube amps? Does it suck tone (like the Cerberus did for me) or does it work well in that role?

Hey Jon, sorry off topic here, but can you tell me the Elixir strings you use for Drop C? I thought you said 11's in a vid (can't find it now lol), but I see they have 11-49 and 11-52. And then they have 3 types...nanoweb, polyweb, and optiweb.
I know personnel preference will always play a role, but I want to start from a baseline good tone, and you have that. I will be updating my signal chain from my lil practice amp, maybe with something like this Trident, but gotta do more research for a good overall picture and then gameplan. The Trident or Tonex look like good options from my initial glance.
    Thanks and cheers!

How versatile would you consider the NUX Trident to be?
P.s cool Millenium Falcon shirt dude!

Great time to be a guitar player, all kinds of good sounding devices for not a crapton of money. Did a quick search on the price, it's almost the sam as a POD Go here in Canada, think I'd buy that instead. But more options is more options!

Here is a good but hard video. Take several models of Engl let's say and play through them showing up the difference in gain and features of the different amps. Just a thought.

Pretty good tones, even better on Metal, but still a bit mushy from the NuX.
I use an HX Stomp, and after a long, steep learning curve, I'm getting outstanding tones. A good Modeler is a great bang for the buck, and my back is happy.

Yep, and pod go is just a little bit more (or the same?) money. Tough sell for the NUX. And not sure if placebo, but 2:30 seemed to suffer a bit from some sort of digital distortion... Very tough sell for hte nux!

Excellent review - no reflection on the creator but.... I do think that playing devices without backing tracks is beneficial to really hear how they sound. Sounded on my end like a digital mess. Muddy punctuated by digital spikes, inarticulate, digital artifacts, and overall fatiguing on the ears. Cheers

Definitely not the best tones youve gotten on the channel. However, if this is all that was available for a session or a show, i could certainly make this work and be happy about it. To be fair i do have pretty high demands for my guitar tone. Like nearly unrealistic if i dont have my rig.
