    You've heard me talk about the problems that everyone in California is facing, but I want to tell you about the personal issues I deal with every day. I was born in Los Angeles - Burbank, to be exact - and I've lived here all my life. It pains me to have to leave my beautiful state, but this place has become uninhabitable. Here are some of my personal stories about my experience dealing with these problems, and why I can't stay here anymore.

    Good for Ben! I just moved back to California 3 months ago after 20 years in Florida for a "great" job opportunity. I feel like I'm waking up in the apocalypse every day. A 6 figure income here provides a lower quality of life than working at a gas station in Florida. I have to wait to escape due to wife's health issues for another month or so. I'm not sure I'd be able to bring myself back ever again even for a weekend to attend a family members funeral. I sold my home in Florida that was paid off and gave away all my cars, boat, rv, and possessions to get here. I'll be going back with my truck and little else. I've been relieved of my cash at an alarming rate. I'd strongly warn anyone to never make the mistake I have by missing family and your home town. It no longer exists. Save yourselves and run for your nearest border. I will kiss the ground as soon as I see the welcome to Arizona sign soon. I should have heeded the advice of literally everyone and stayed put. I sincerely hope California falls in the ocean before they keep spreading their cancerous lifestyles and ideology to the decent Americans across this great country. I pity those who don't know the difference between communism and capitalism. God bless America and I pray the remaining Americans find the power within themselves to fight against the invasion.

    • @jh748
      @jh748 10 месяцев назад

      Sometimes people deserve what happens to them; Karma. You are clearly a gullible, uneducated person and think the authoritarianism and dictatorship-like state government is not a cancerous lifestyle or ideology. Your right communism and capitalism are very different but Desantis is much closer to Putin than anything we have ever had in this country. I moved from CA to FL 10 years ago and it was the biggest mistake of my life and in the process of moving back. You refer to the word "invasion" without a cent of what it really means; talk to any Ukraine about fighting against a real invasion. People like you do in fact deserve what you get and people like you do not deserve to live in a younger, innovative, forward thinking society but rather in the middle of the AZ desert.

    • @BLOODFART309
      @BLOODFART309 4 месяца назад +5

      @QuitTheBlueCircus oh I escaped lololol. I took a huge hit selling my convertible bentley I liked so much, just so I could leave without delay. Started a new construction company since I've been back in florida. Things changed fast here while I was in San diego. People from CA and NY swarmed it here, and the price of rent and everything tripled. It's just as bad as California now, except for the the high taxes, costs of utilities are still low here, no people sleeping outside, freedom supporting politics, and a business friendly environment here. The new people here drive very badly, and make each day challenging because of it. I was having panic attacks, stress issues, and vertigo in san diego for months. All symptoms cleared up when I got back florida. I used to love the stress in Cali when I was a kid. Incapacitates me now. The scams and price gouging in California were insane. Trying san diego again was by far the most stressful and costly mistake I have ever made in my life. I deeply regret it, and will until I pay off another home hopefully one day and get partially back to where I was. It's hard every day living with the consequences of the failed adventure. California is just too restrictive on business, way too much taxes, the homeless issues were very depressing because I see them as humans, the people were scared and or sad, and the cost of living was super high for a very low quality of life. I did like the access to so many different restaurants. Weed dispensaries everywhere for recreational use was fun. Amenities required a fight through traffic and crowds that made them undesirable whatsoever. Medical care in the best hospital in so cal was infuriating to witness, as well as the system in general for regular care for my wife. All bad except the food and weed. Water is polluted and the beaches are sad to look at. So much sadness in the air. When I was a teen there it was a different world full of sunshine and opportunity. It's gone.

      @edmundmcgrath213 5 дней назад

      I have to say your story was actually a little bit funny to me I hate to say it, but sort of like a Keystone cops adventure. You're writing that you sold everything you own in the world to come back to a state only to find out three months later you didn't like it? Why didn't you visit first, spend a month in a hotel to see for yourself so you wouldn't have sold everything in Florida. Big mistake. Also Florida is no walk in the park. I lived there for 20 years and also in California for 20 years and Florida used to be way way way less expensive than California but now it's about equal, when you add in the homeowners insurance and the homeowner association fees if you live in a condo along with the assessments… Many people even living inland are paying $12,000 a year just for homeowners insurance. Florida is hot it's flat humid, it would not be a place I would go back to but I do agree with you about fleeing California. I will say though that in my case I did about six months worth of homework before I decided to move back to California and I chose Dana point. Now Dana point is special as there are no homeless and Orange County police are very aggressive to say the least which is a good thing. There is no graffiti. I've been rubbernecking trying to find one single homeless person just so I can say to people that I saw one and there's not a single one. It's as close to what people imagine California used to be as I can think of. No empty storefronts beautiful harbor. A lot of money there no doubt but I say if you can avoid the cities, San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles as there are all types of pockets along the coast that are beautiful and have none of these issues that people are complaining about on these I hate California blog sites. Have you ever meant to Monterey or Carmel by the Sea. It's a magical place still Big Sur and all of the communities from Dana point south like San Clemente, Oceanside and the tiny little beach towns along the ocean well before you even come close to San Diego. In other words there is plenty of sweet spots so left why anyone would choose to live in San Diego or San Francisco or Los Angeles is beyond me that is if they have money and they've done their homework. California still has everything it had 60 years ago weather, geography, but you have to choose wisely and I will say you have to have seven figures in the bank. Fortunately being in that position I'm able to make choices that most people cannot make, but I certainly would not return to Florida. North Carolina has forests oceans, trees, lakes without alligators, lower humidity, no real winters, oceans, in other words there are better choices than Florida by a country mile. Many people are fleeing Florida right now as I post as there is more real estate for sale on a percentage basis in the state of Florida than any other state in the country. People want out of there

      Listen I wish that was true but it's not. I don't know who's advising you on the California real estate market but the person who's writing you right now can tell you that that is far from the truth sadly. Two points… Inventory in Orange County right now just using Orange County as an example because it's where I live is the lowest it's been in history. The lowest. Also the real estate values have climbed by 11%. An astonishing 11% with all of the "I can't wait to leave California" articles. There's a huge disconnect between what's actually going on here which is a very very hot real estate market and the concept that people are fleeing the state. Six months ago I placed an offer on a home in Laguna Niguel. It's a crappy townhome 1600 ft.² 40 years old 3 miles from the beach Listed for $960,000.… 3 miles from Laguna Beach but definitely not on the beach but near it. There were 20 offers on the property six months ago. Almost all of them were above asking and I lost to the highest bidder. Since then the highest bidder that bought that property put it back on the market six months later for $75,000 more than he bought it for and it sold in one day. Your friends that are having trouble selling their houses in California are definitely not living in the desirable parts of the state which I would say is anywhere along the coast from the Oregon border all the way down to Tijuana Mexico.

      There's an ever-shrinking number of rational, logical thinkers in the state. If you met and conversed with one of the masses, you'd give up hope, as I have. The very tolerant "intolerant thought police" don't like having to leave their TDS aside and do some actual critical thinking. Much easier to put on a slogan shirt and virtue signal while they careen like sheeple toward the cliff. So, no, the majority of voters here seem to think that free college, free housing, free child-care, free meals, free health care, etc. are actually FREE. SMH

I say this because as a family, we had to duck inside air conditioned stores while walking on Hollywood Blvd. during the day because our eyes were burning from the smog! Apparently, the air quality has dramatically improved due to car emissions restrictions, which caused a bulk of it. Oh, and it was overwhelmingly white, which of course, kept the crime relatively low and improved the quality of just about EVERYTHING, including public school education. Now, the reverse is true. The city is now overwhelmingly MINORITY, which is NEVER a good thing. Without turning this into a book I could write, I rest my case.

We arrived from Toronto, Canada to San Francisco, rented a car and drove the 101 down to Los Angeles, then returned to San Francisco through the interior and wine country. What a beautiful place! So clean, so prosperous. We seriously considered emigration to California, but decided to stay because of our families. Now we are so glad that we did not do it.

Example: Driving North to Crescent City is beautiful but at every stop you will see “Hippies” and Homeless people. There is a huge difference between the two groups and I have never minded seeing Hippies, they are happy, giving, respectful, and interesting to talk to but if you come across certain types of homeless people they can be aggressive, scary, demanding and intentionally gross. All up and down the coast is like this.
