Obama deported more illegals than anybody, but everybody leaves out that he deported Middle Easterners as the War on Terror was still an issue to people. This is actually true but on a much smaller scale. UK Veterans haven’t been in wars for a long time and British military has significantly downsized. Multiple British aircraft carriers are not manned by British soldiers but, American.
Veterans aren’t typically ruffing it out on the streets in the UK. Even finding a British veteran is rare. They are however giving priority to migrants for housing. But, this isn’t illegal migrants. These are migrants who have visa’s and made the journey legally. Including asylum seekers.
I think it sucks that migrants get so much preferential treatment. But, considering the labour market in the UK i see why they’re bringing in these low skilled workers. Its a major societal issue where the average British bloke is wasting his UC (Universal credit) on drinking at the pub rather than finding a job and contributing to the economy.
They say the migrants are taking the jobs. Yeah they are, since the people complaining aren’t taking those jobs anyways and high skilled jobs are out of their league.
The basic thing any country should look at is if you are bringing in migrants through law, do you know who are you bringing in, do you know their history and background. If not, you are doomed like UK, France, Sweden, etc and now America is on that path.

Can you elaborate on these “steps” to get legal? Because as far as I understand, these steps are pretty much non existent unless you have a family that sponsors you or if you win the diversity visa lottery. If not, you next best option is through asylum.

Same in ireland. We've had a housing and homeless crisis for as long as I can remember, but all of a sudden money was found to house hundreds of thousands of migrants. Entire housing estates are being built with the sole purpose of them being used to house migrants. Heard many reports that up the north west of ireland along the coast, landlords are now only housing migrants in a deal done with the state. I've readthey are being offered €700+ a week per migrant, so they are filling the houses to the max and cleaning up financially. It's so sad to see how cities have changed in such a short apce of time and only last week did Ireland basically sign its freedoms away to Europe, to fill the country with as much migrants as possible in such a short space of time. You go to Moore street in DUblin, carlow town or even cork and you'll see gangs of migrants just standing around drinking, doing absolutely nothing but waste our taxes. Terrifies me that I have to raise my daughter in this country.

I know legally, that is probably the correct thing to do, but what about on a basic moral level? What about the children who will be ripped from their parents? Have you thought of the possibility that the illegal immigrants came in with nothing, and after being deported, they will be left with nothing? Maybe having are economy take a turn for the worse is worth it if those families can be allowed to stay together, working for $5/hour, which allows for far more generous living conditions than where they came from.

This was after a civil war, and at the start of the industrial period for the U.S. not only were there less immigrants that came through then, but they were needed. It was on paper, a mutual relationship. My wife is Venezuelan and has been in our country for 6 years. So my biases are aligned with whats best for us. I can assure that all of the contributing people from her country, think the border should be controlled.
