This video is the truth. With anyone who is suffering from Celiac disease or even Gluten intolerance this video will give you the hope and clarity to stop consuming gluten. I would appreciate it if you could do a follow up video on this with an update of how you are doing now and what your diet looks like currently. Thank you.
I just got diagnosed at 54. I am so mad this explains my symtoms. your right about the emotions I am so mad and I wish I knew this sooner then I could have possibly done something about it too.
Lol when you mentioned remembering the tears when you got the phone call, made me cry. I just got that phone call 3 days ago now, and it still doesn’t seem real.
I am happy and feel finally relieved that after 20 years of feeling crazy because I did not “feel right” and was hospitalized twice for crazy blood sugar (clocked 40), not diabetic, not thyroid. A team could not figure it out. 2 years ago I started getting a redness on my face that turned into blisters that just kept getting worse. Doc I have now is an AMAZING person:) She figured it out in 10 minutes today:) I had such beautiful skin, she saw my face and immediately figured things out. 20 years of thinking I was a hypochondriac…
Basically, the very first thing anyone should do once diagnosed is get an appointment with a RD (registered dietician) and set up a diet plan based on gluten free whole foods. My symptoms disappeared immediately, and I was on my way to complete recovery. It probably took about 6 months to regain the lost weight and have been fine since. That was almost 20 years ago.
Probably took awhile for you to find gluten free options, as that was right at the cusp of them becoming more available. Mine showed up later in life, though it was probably there for awhile and just needed to build up to the end stage where I started losing weight. When I look back, there were signs, like canker sores, fatigue and moodiness, certain intestinal issues. The most notable was not being able to recall certain words, facts, or figures, and trying to think of different words to use in their place. The gluten free options have really improved, but I still miss gyros. Unfortunately the third ingredient in gyros meat is wheat.
Hi. Thank you for your video. Can I ask please. When you first got found with Celiac , how long did it take for your villi to get back to work? Thank you.
I read that villi can regenerate almost immediately after starting the diet. It did in my case because my classic symptoms stopped right away. I was 100% compliant with what I ate and drank. I am sure results can vary.
