@Robert Giese thats such a gatekeeper mentality, I 100% the game 2 nights ago on N64, as much as I enjoyed the game there were plenty moments of the camera either getting stuck on walls, or just turning too sharply and ruining the direction I'm walking in. Your way of thinking is not healthy lol
The camera is only bad if you never bother to move it yourself (which is extremely easy to do seeing as, unlike the ones in games like Mario 64 or Goemon, it stays where you put it instead of immediately trying to swing back to some kind of default position.) There are moments in this game where it pulls out to a panoramic fixed view, but it's never done inappropriately. In any case, I'll take a reliably obedient manual camera over a bad automatic one any day.

Hey, just wanted to say that watching this run has made my day. BK is one of my favorite games and I have such fond memories of it from my childhood. I recently got into watching speedrunning and when I found your channel and twitch I got incredibly happy! I had a very hard day today and this video is probably the only reason I didn't break down. GG on the run and I'm looking forward watching more BK from you :)!
I've played through this game many times, but this is the first speedrun I've seen. Really cool, all the clipping through terrain surprised me but what surprised me most was how you managed to escape in bee form without being forced back. GG on the WR!
it's pretty crazy to think even with all those early mis-steps you managed to shave off about 3 minutes from the previous record, have to wonder how much more time saves are possible in this game though lol
Not in reality because Stiv's record was 1:57:39 it just got taken down due to cancel culture. And that run didn't even use MMM early because there wasn't a consistent setup for it back then.
@@TySoN78 i fully agree he should be the recorded holder still i think its dumb that they would pretend its someone else when hes clearly the best to ever run banjo by far. but.... someone said it was because of "cancel culture" i think its his actions we should focus on not the people who are deciding to punish him. @@MusicmanEJB This is not a "modded" version. This is the official game on an actual N64, and everything he did in this run, you can also do on your game, with practice of course.
@@MusicmanEJB that's not because of mods is actually legit in the regular version of the game you just need to do a glitch that has the same effects as a new game plus
When you go out of bounds like that and die, it resets you back at the start of the room where you entered from. It's faster to do that than to just run back to the loading zone. The whole reason you want to return to the start of the room is because it's the start of the MMM early bitclip setup.

The best BK 100% TAS (Tool Assisted Speedrun) takes a little longer than this, and that's not just with tools, but also a lot of refinement over the years. I'm having a *very* hard time believing this is a true real-time attempt that out does a refined TAS. Even if he were only a few minutes longer than the TAS I would be seriously questioning if he cheated, not only with tool assistance, but splicing video or something else along those lines as well, especially since he might "show" his controller inputs, but not actually show him actually putting in the inputs. If no one can explain this to me competently with evidence than I'm going to assume he cheated with both tool assistance as well as a slowed down timer and/or video splicing or something else along those lines. My timer program keeps track of all my splits from all the runs I've done in the past. So it keeps track of all the times I've done spiral mountain, mumbos mountain, treasure trove cove, etc. My best possible time at the beginning of the run represents all the best segments added up. So it would be as if I tied all of my best levels for the whole run. The sum of all the best is just called sum of best. The "best possible" just shows what I would get if I were to tie each of my golds for the rest of the run as opposed to the entire run.
Is this because you saw a recent comment asking about it? If so, that's me but I deleted it lol, I thought that if you talked to bottles at the beginning and pressed B you wouldn't need to go through the tutorial and you'd have the moves already because of that. But now that I see your comment I'm glad you clarified it for us. Thank you.
@@CloudStrife777FF lol it's not because of any one specific person. It's a very common question. Usually I just reply to the commenter with the explanation, but when this game came out on switch I had too many of those comments to keep up with haha
@@AzmiSR Well I said that because I don't see many comments that aren't months old and I remember I asked about a week ago, around the time you pinned this, so I was wondering if that was the reason. Anyway I came back to finish watching the run and I stumbled upon your comment, it's good to know how this worked.
As I watch the run, I'm get more and more frustrated with the fact that all of the moves are already available. There's so much (too much) time that gets shaved off for my liking. I enjoy casually replying retro games ("speed running", but I'm no professional), but there so many advantages right away: -Talon Trot immediately the start of Mumbo -the Shock Spring jump immediately to get to the Clanker portrait -Beak Bomb used so early in TTC -the turbo trot shoes ready outside of Freezeezy Peak I read the article you pinned, and I acknowledge that this memory trick between files is permitted, but it still upsets me a bit. Please don't get me wrong: despite the "glitch", I love watching how cleanly you dive into water, skip cutscenes and jump from ledge to ledge (Clanker's Cavern, for example). It's very elegant and smooth. Since this seems to be the still be the current (10/2022) WR holding video, might you consider trying a run without the preloaded moveset?
Whoops, mistook this for a no FFM run at first and commented about that "fact." I'm an idiot :P Not that I have a problem with NG+ runs, I'm just more a fan of ones that aren't. Still love Banjo-Kazooie speedruns though.
you're the man, i enjoy watching this speedrun for the appropriate amount of commentary, but i'm wondering how you managed to do beak bombs before learning them in FP. Is that a glitch that is caused by entering the world by swimming out of bounds?
Apparently there a complex set of steps you can do to set up a NG+ run where all move are unlocked by mumbos mountain. I believe that glitch should have its own category

Im surprised you had so many mistakes so early in the game and didnt restart, in any case WR is yours, what im saying is you can improve this time, you really can
How is it possible that you have the Green jump pads before TTC? (This is the first speedrun of BK I watch, idk if that is a special category?) Great Job though, impressive Speedrun! 🙏🏼
Just beat the game last night for the first time. I was a Playstaion guy back then, so didn't grow up with it. I got 99 jiggies and 900 notes. I used a guide for maybe a few jiggies and notes, but I tried to do the vast majority on my own. I also, beat Tooie last years and I'll say, this is a 7.5 . Banjo Tooie is easily a 9 for me. I think more people have nostalgia, but Tooie is better imo.

I know that stivity had a lot of trouble. But what is he doing now? I mean, is there any lawprocess or sth else going. Did je quit streaming completely? Sry for my poor englishskills. Greetings from germany.
To answer your questions among your various comments, there is a glitch called FFM where if you game over during a minigame on the Furnace Fun board and start a new save file, you can start a new file with every move you learned on that previous save file. There is a detailed explanation on RUclips if you are curious to know more about it and how it works. He purposely leaves moves like eggs and feathers unlearned on the old file, so when he learns them in this speedrun, Bottles refills his ammo. If you speak to Bottles in a new save file where you have already learned the eggs and flying, he will not refill your eggs and feathers so you're stuck at 0 unless you collect them among the world yourself, which is significantly slower than getting 50 free eggs in a second.
😢 this is completely trolling my performance in the game isn't it😂😂😂😂😂😂b why would you put yourself through this over and over again for that oh my God❤
Wrong Stiv's record was 1:57:39 and he didn't even use MMM early because there wasn't a consistent setup for it back then. Before MMM early this run was 30 seconds behind Stiv's.

I gave this video the 200th like. A legendary game and supreme dedication to crack this speed run. May I ask how ‘best possible time’ is calculated?
My timer program keeps track of all my splits from all the runs I've done in the past. So it keeps track of all the times I've done spiral mountain, mumbos mountain, treasure trove cove, etc. My best possible time at the beginning of the run represents all the best segments added up. So it would be as if I tied all of my best levels for the whole run. The sum of all the best is just called sum of best. The "best possible" just shows what I would get if I were to tie each of my golds for the rest of the run as opposed to the entire run.
Well done !!! Congratulation🎉
Get ready to improve cos the bop is coming. 😏
GG Chuz. Long time coming.
Oh wow all the memories of playing this with my siblings. Such a great game of its time
Banjo Kazooie was my favorite childhood game
That trick at 40:01 is awesome
I don't understand why did he die tho
@@jesaea he hit a death barrier that teleported him into the next room. so yeah he meant to die on purpose
@@zabugd2379 that's so cool
This is art.
You shouldn’t have had some of those moves yet, how did you the move you get in freezeezy peak in treasure trove cove?
WHY I HAVE ALL THE MOVES WHEN ENTERING MUMBOS pastebin.com/rNaSUVqK
I enjoy casually replying retro games ("speed running", but I'm no professional), but there so many advantages right away:
-Talon Trot immediately the start of Mumbo
-the Shock Spring jump immediately to get to the Clanker portrait
-Beak Bomb used so early in TTC
-the turbo trot shoes ready outside of Freezeezy Peak
I read the article you pinned, and I acknowledge that this memory trick between files is permitted, but it still upsets me a bit.
@@andrewtessman9921 that's called No FFM, and it's its own category
Whoops, mistook this for a no FFM run at first and commented about that "fact." I'm an idiot :P
Not that I have a problem with NG+ runs, I'm just more a fan of ones that aren't.
My runs would probably end on Mumbos Mountain
I doubt I could ever pick up all those triple note cliffs without screwing up
I didnt even knew that 1:56 was possible, GG
1:56 was achieved years ago the runner was banned from the leaderboards tho for being a giant a-hole, insane asmi got the 1:56 now and beat that old r ecord too.
@@mrspeedrunwastaken1348 That's not the reason but ok.
@@yoshiman1818 ????
@@mrspeedrunwastaken1348 He wasn’t banned for being an A-Hole he was banned for an entirely different reason. But no matter what happened they shouldn’t of removed his times. His times have nothing to do with him as a person.
@@yoshiman1818 aight if you think rape is fine than sure whatever dude. Its just weird you care about a speedrun record more than that you know.
Your brain is strong , great.
The amount of people in the comments who couldn't be bothered to read the description is hilarious.
"I'm going to stop and drink some water." LMAO
This was awesome and I'm only seeing it after few months, but congratulations! Hope you can bring this to AGDQ or some other event
Yeah the Xbox 360 can't skip texts and it different on optimized strats.
Im surprised you had so many mistakes so early in the game and didnt restart, in any case WR is yours, what im saying is you can improve this time, you really can
HOLY SHIT!! GG, AZMI!!
How come you start of knowing every move in the game? I thought that was only possible with basic moves in spiral mountain.
Read the description of the video my friend =]
11h PM, kinda tired.. I thought hey has anyone beaten stivs BK run? I googled it, it seems so, but I didn’t feel like watching a 2h run. But I don’t regret it, you’re so fast like wtf 😅
8:23 how did you get the Shock Spring Jump Pad unlocked before getting to Treasure Trove Cove?
Came to the comments to see if that was explained
@jess soo not really a legit speedrun.
@jess why did he have to learn flight from bottles in TTC then?
@@lonksventure read the paste bin file in the description
great boy, when i played this game i was so scared of the shark :D
Nice run 👍🏻 stiv would be proud
I know that stivity had a lot of trouble. But what is he doing now?
I mean, is there any lawprocess or sth else going. Did je quit streaming completely?
Sry for my poor englishskills. Greetings from germany.
At 12:50 he doesn’t get the mumbo token behind the crab?
Yea he missed it
god i remember as a 6 year old child i could never beat that last boss i'd get so mad
mad shit bro, let's go for the 1:55:xx!! congrats
You have the beak buster early too, did you use vheats or something
MMM early blew my mind dude. Sick run!
That's so amazing you can just walk through the glass on rust bucket bay
The wall and the window look like this
_____---------
So u just walk through the crack
@@AzmiSR you speedrunners do amazing research , trial and error! I saw another one where u glitch through the ship and can swim to the jigsaw
Waw you make it look so easy. Amazing job!
😢 this is completely trolling my performance in the game isn't it😂😂😂😂😂😂b why would you put yourself through this over and over again for that oh my God❤
just getting into doing runs myself, how did you have the beak bomb move in clankers?
damn this was my childhood i was 6 years old when I played this
This 1:56 was waaayy overdo. Should have happened 2 years ago! GG's! Congrats! Beat Stiv by over a minute and 40!
Wrong Stiv's record was 1:57:39 and he didn't even use MMM early because there wasn't a consistent setup for it back then. Before MMM early this run was 30 seconds behind Stiv's.
Yooooooo congrats!
gg dude congrats 👏👏👏
My band played the winter theme in high school
I'm down to beating the game 100% under 4h now. Of course nowhere near your abilities.
Interesting to see you skipping a lot of things that I don't know how to skip. Like how you have some moves early. I was trying to see how I can route my runs better with your video but hence the move thing it isn't of help unfortunately 😅 Still very nice video and very impressive
BIG GGs, your a god
nice job homie! keep it up!
Does the Mambo behind the big crab in TTC not count towards 100%? I'm not very familiar with this run, but it was definitely entertaining to watch.
yea i saw this too. I think he missed it
Back in 1999 If I handed the controller to someone and they completed the game in 2 hours I would have shit bricks and worshipped them as a god.
Dope speed run man! 👌
It's absolutely wild to see someone good at this game😂
Edit: poggers, man. Gg
FANTASTIC RUN!
