This is not dark. You want to listen to some dark music turn on your radio and listen to some new music. That crap is really dark and dumb. This song is brilliant and passionate
I became acquainted with this music as a child, when I lived in Murmansk, where it was cold, dark and snowy. On the cassette is the album "Music for the masses". And the northern lights....💙
Its the day and age of what people do now. Crazy how this song if from the past but people still think this way because of what they choose to believe what they want them to believe..
@Robert 0077 but even non-liberals can get swept up into fake media crap. Your comment would have been great without throwing the word liberal in there, so you made it political instead of just being chill. Just smoke one and enjoy the song bro. Peace.

Now,we see how a fucking disaster he his.
I have loved Andy Fletcher for half my natural born life. He and the band got me thru the difficult times. They always will. Long live Andy and Depeche Mode
Their influence in music history is sooo huge ! And now they are still relevant and incredible. I put them at the top with The Beatles. They brought new horizons to us. What a gift is Depeche Mode ! ❤❤
This song is not about sex. It is about showing your true self rather than hiding behind a facade. Them smashing the car up is representative of just that
Zonum1 True enough, but think of artists that exist only because of social media, and how things become popular now. When I see Yazoo and DM getting millions of views for a vid, I think those could have been multiplied by the 100s, and a 100 mil views is the top of the artists now.
Loved this band in the 80s, saw them in more concerts than any other band in the 80s and 90s as well. Love this song, reminds me of so many great moments when we heard it. Depeche Mode is such a great band and so underrestimated amongst rock bands. What started as an electric pop band really evolved in one of the great rock bands of the last decades. And my God yes what a singular and great voice. I would love your input on the first video of my first album. It got the attention of one of my heroes Joe Bouchard (ex bass player founding members of BÖC) but returns from people who likes same music is always the best. Black Celebration is an album that single handedly got me thru college and more. I'd put the tape on in my walkman and wait for Stripped to come on after which I'd always fall asleep in the bus going to school. Hearing the track today brings back those soothing feelings of peace, quiet. I do miss those days and decided to "honour" the album by buying it again on vinyl.
"let me hear you make decisions without your televisions..." How many people know that they are in fact looking at us through our televisions? Deprche Mode was sooo ahead of their time!
If the song were made today, its lyrics would be: "Let me hear you make decisions / without your Facebook and Instagram / Let me hear you speaking just for me.../"
BLACK CELEBRATION, easily the best album ever made. In the past, present, future and in all dimensions to be discovered in the future. It's a masterpiece. It's art. It was my religion when I was 17. Stripped is the highlight on an album full of highlights.
I am 28. I always loved listening to DM. However I discovered how they all looked like, started "hearing" texts of their songs only in past 3 days. Also read about their story. I am stunned. It is something magical about their sounds, something not from this planet. Different feeling from any other artist or group. Goosebumps always. And the fact, that this music never ages, gives the feeling that you touch something unreal.
God, I’d sell my soul to get one more Alan Wilder album and tour, but Ginger bitch will never let that happen. I find it insulting that they expect us to fork out the kind of money we do to watch three of them and two session artists. Fuck that, beg Wilder to come back. Recognize and openly give him credit for the sound he created.
Veronica ha so this is the first track where the epic voice came out? nice! Haha been a fan since I was little when they found their real sound like this the music became untouchable :)
The song that started my passion for DM. Happy birthday Black Celebration! Thank you so much Dave, Martin, Alan and Fletch for releasing this jewel to the world!
Just want to say: Thank you. You made my youth and more. I still love your music and I think you can't measure how much you mean to me and other people in the whole wide world. As longtime metalhead, I simply love this band.

You know, Depeche Mode has influenced many metal bands of the 90s, esxpacially with this album Black Celebration
They have influenced everyone, all genres. Best band in the world!
This is not just a song. It is something unique, epic and magic emotion. Viva Depeche Mode

Yeah. I’d say the same thing about pretty much all of their music in general.
Viva DP!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Can´t believe that this song is from 1986. Still sounds modern.
It sounds like a song from the future and it's over 30 years old.
I was 15 years old when this song was released. Still moves me. Brilliant band. DM for life.❤️
Are you a fool?! The Modern age has been going a long time. This was already Post-Modern. There can't be anything more "modern" than 1986.
Another nonsensical comment. The "30 years" since this is nothing. Contemplate the 30 years between 1956 and 1986!
It is timeless good then now and forever! Mode 4 life!
I can’t even express the love I have for this song… it’s perfect

An alternate universe where RUclips existed in the 80's and this video had almost a billion views
depeche mode, yazoo, Metallica, and Michael Jackson would be the most popular artists if that happened
Michael Jackson, Madonna, Queen and U2 would be the most popular artists in youtube. Depeche and Yazoo would be far away.
Don't forget about Prince, Duran Duran, Echo and the bunnymen, Bruce Springsteen,
Zonum1 True enough, but think of artists that exist only because of social media, and how things become popular now. When I see Yazoo and DM getting millions of views for a vid, I think those could have been multiplied by the 100s, and a 100 mil views is the top of the artists now.
Katie Kat You do know that some of the bands or artists management today pay for youtube views, Which is very bad as it is cheating
