  • This week on @DesignerHomeTours, we take a look at interior designer Barette Widell's personal home - Casa Alpaca. A traditional French colonial home transformed into a chic and family-friendly home with a touch of magic. Widell used a variety of elements, including natural materials, pops of color, and alpaca statues, to create a space that is both stylish and functional.
    Here are some of the key elements of the design:
    - Natural materials: The designer used a variety of natural materials throughout the home, such as wood, stone, and linen. These materials help to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
    - Pops of color: The home is decorated in a palette of neutral colors with pops of color throughout, such as blue, green, and yellow. These colors create a bright and inviting space.
    - Alpaca statues: The addition of alpaca statues throughout the home add a touch of whimsy and personality to the home.
    The result is a beautiful and stylish home that is perfect for a family. If you are looking for inspiration for your own home, be sure to check out this video.

    I like the painting with the 2 puppies ! The rest of the colorless space much less. Bravo for the pink dining chairs.

    Absolutely love. She gave great tips. I would suggest to all to try to tap into a designer mind and listen instead of judging. She gave wonderful tips. I'll keep this in my design notes. Lovely home.

    The artwork featuring her dogs is the most joyful, human element of the home. In spite of the (over)abundance of stand-alone sculptural design elements, she’s got a great eye for textures and shape. I suspect the ultra-neutral colour palette was necessary to unify everything….

    This home is absolutely magnificent. From the Ann Saks tiles, exquisite wallpaper choices, stunning and unique lighting, all the way down to the smallest detail, everything is curated to total perfection. WidellBoschetti are definitely creative visionaries.

    I enjoyed this home. I loved the homeowner’s personality. She appears to be an animal lover and I like that. I really liked the Bond art piece. Also loved the touches of pink especially in her dressing room. The pink stone on her island was beautiful.

      @@Person-mh6xqTotally agree. No one said anything nasty. The house has a dramatic point of view and not everyone will like it. I’m sure the designer knows this, and doesn’t expect everyone to.

    As someone who lived in Paris for 4 years in different apartments, I’m struggling to see the influence here 😐. Overall it’s a nice home but a little bland for my taste. At one point she blended into the kitchen units. Love the alpacas.

    A visual delight for the eyes...the only thing I would be hesitant about is the staircase. At my age, I am afraid I would do an Ivanka Trump in my heels and end up at the bottom in a heap. I wish I had known about this firm before we started a three year remodel.

    I will never, never ever will understand why the American are so obsessed with the French. France is far from St Tropez or Paris. Let's put aside the bedbugs situation that is going on right now, french homes are very poorly decorated. They tend to be minimal and simple decorated with a very poor approach! They don't put the money where their mouth is, sorry to disappoint you guys! 😅

    It's so sad to see a home so beautiful furnished with cruel animal products. With all the animals in your care, I can only assume that they are ultimately slaughtered and their parts are doled out to equally cruel people.

    • @RenesFabricArmor
      @RenesFabricArmor 10 месяцев назад +13

      If you are referring to the alpaca pieces.: Alpacas are actually sheared each year and you can use their fur for many applications with zero harm to the animals.

    • @jnvance5150
      @jnvance5150 10 месяцев назад +3

      You do not kill alpacas to get their fur. They are shaved once a year. I absolutely loved the chairs and statues made from the alpaca fur
