Not a very fair demo.
Chris is too good. Fender should send me one, I'll show everyone what a very average guitarist sounds like with one.
This is probably a reflection on the state of music and how music is made nowadays but artists should be lining up to have Chris do session work on their tracks. His musical esthetics and sensibilities are simply superb.
Chris, I swear you are my biggest inspiration right now! Your expressive bends and melodic phrasing is really a beautiful thing to listen to. You got that thang brother, never stop.✌
These American Ultra models have the most comfortable necks of any guitars I've ever played. I liked them so much I bought the Texas Tea Telecaster & the Arctic White Stratocaster. Such comfortable, well balanced and playable guitars. Love them.
I can’t decide between the Texas Tea and the Artic White. Since you own both, what color do you prefer the most?
@@gregmican Texas Tea. But, it's a metallic finish and if you ever dink the finish you're pretty screwed getting a touch up job to repair it.
That said the white is also a metallic finish so same applies to that.
I'm not a big fan of the look of the tortoiseshell guard on the white ones. Not a big fan of the feel of the anodised guard on the Texas Tea. But for looks alone the Texas Tea finish is stunning.

This came up in my suggestions feed- I didn't notice it was Chris Buck- first 4 notes in and I thought- wow- that sounds nice, like Chris Buck. Now that's saying something Chris- I recognized your signature touch just 4 notes in. You've fully arrived!

Couple minutes ago I saw the Anderton's video. They sound very good. Glad they tinted the necks. It looks way better. The Strat with the 2tone gold sunburst looks amazing. I must save money

Looks nice...I agree with the more amber tint on the neck...could not understand the very pasty white finish on the Elites and Performers...one of the things that made them look like a cheaper guitar IMO that is! The soft cut away at the neck joint is a good move too...will have to take a look at these, though I have a pretty nice Strat and don't really need one! Thanks for sharing!

Just watched several vids on the Ultra was not impressed with sound until now. Beautiful Strat but your playing sells it. Fender should pay you to do their Demos sales would double if not more. Always enjoy your demos as well as your band but I do have one complaint and that is your playing was way way to short. Wanted more! 👍🔥🎸🦅
I've just bought this exact guitar from pmt in Bristol and I can't deny, it's one of the best Fender Strats I've ever played, loving the videos man!!

One reason I love your channel Chris, is that it seems like people who just want to say nasty things just because they can, don’t do that here very often. I am interested in the thoughts from others who comment, and people seem to avoid just spouting off negative stuff. But are also honest if it’s not their favorite. There’s going to be a lot more on these, and I am to see it from you as one of the first! Thanks for showing it off for us!

I get the odd comment that obviously comes from a place deeper than just having not enjoyed the video but generally speaking, I just block them as it's not worth having that kind of negativity on a video - not only for myself but people like yourself who read the comments :) I'll always encourage debate/constructive criticism though; it's healthy!
Chris, as usual you knocked it out of the park. What can we say about your playing that hasn't already been said. Just unique and wonderful tone, expression and phrasing. It's an absolute joy to listen to you Chris. I have never heard you sound anything other than top drawer.

I am a proud owner of an "Ultraburst" STRAT with the HSS setup and a maple neck. I LOVE THIS GUITAR!

Tele Texas tea. Love'n it.
Plus is didn't know this til i took home an ultra burst strat first. That the single coils on the sss are not as hot as the hss setup. I find it strange. I mean the humbucker would be , but why the other singles would be wired hotter is kinda puzzling. But, i kinda got a lemon, had tons of issues. Fender accepted it back , and issued credit, so i decided on a tele finally. Always wanted a tele , and this one in Texas tea is hard to beat the looks of. Enjoy it, love it . Play like buck. Jk
day 2 day, from what I heard on a video, they wired them hotter to compensate for the volume drop you get from S1 switch, I never had a HSS prior to the one I have now but from what I have seen and read there was a volume drop on previous models when swapping from humbucker to single coil. So they are hotter to keep volumes more balanced. Results in a guitar not as bright as the SSS model. I got this from watching an andertons video, you can hear the difference, but I love mine so to each their own.

Hardly a rip off. The Ultra range feel and sound exceptional. Considering my PRS is twice this price and arguably doesn't sound half as good in the Fender sweet spot, I can say you are talking out of your arse. The S1 revamp is the most popular on demand of custom shop options, which it appears the guy in the video likes as well. The ergonomics are also massively on point with this release. They feel great to play and then some. If you don't want one fine. If you wan't features that Fender dont think are necessary (like redundant stainless steel bloody frets, which im sure we are all sick of hearing by now) go and buy something that suits your tastes.

hiya ive got strat elite aswell but it feel very uncomfortable to play with it .actually my son have a 80£ squire model and i play better on that one . i dont know why and thinkin to sell mine and get this one .

Hopefully.....But sometimes that doesn't totally happen. The PRS SE guitars are a good example. It's not cost effective for them. So they gave us the 4 finishes to pick from. Which is cool , but it would be nice to have more options. So maybe fender with give us all the righty options for colors. I dunno...
One cool thing fender has is the mod shop. We design it how we want it to look. With the options given. And they build it....
Ben Johnson - agreed. I had to wait almost 10 years for PRS to offer a lefty custom 22 in any color. Guess we will have to wait for Fender to someday offer us other than the normal colors we are always stuck with. Hoping for more though!!

You mean a lefties favorite color , GLOSS BLACK!!....ESP offers a good selection of guitars & finishes. Schecter is pretty good about it. Carvin / Kiesel is awesome. PRS has gotten better about it. Two new SE finishes in lefty for 2020. One thing that is a huge thing for us lefties. Is that , there are 5 or 6 music stores just for us. Xtreme lefty guitars , he's the only one that has the new. Ibanez RG 550 in neon purple. Other music stores only can get the red & yellow colors. The say , can't get the neon purple in a lefty.
And I say , well your wrong. I know who has them.
One big plus , know one can play our Guitars...lol..... someone I know asked me yesterday. Can I see your guitar , play it. I opened my case & he said. Oh yeah you're a lefty. And I said , yep that's right 😁.....And closed my case...

It would be nice to know what amp an effects are being used in this video. Also mastering EQ and compression all affect how we perceive the type of guitar sound.
Feel a bit stupid but I did prefer the good old squier or highway tone to be honest. More bite and less compressed to my ears. Nevertheless, playing is awesome as usual. See you soon live mate

Im in this exact situation, i was going to buy 60s original but now ultra stole my heart. Im still thinking which one should i get . How do you feel about your guitar do you think you made a right decision?
@@fruhentus4437 Hey, it's an incredible guitar for sure, very well crafted and you can feel that. I actually ended up changing out the pickups for some hand wound custom shop 69s, which came loaded in a mint pickguard. Nothing wrong with the noiseless, they truly sound great, maybe a bit less pop and obviously no hum. I was craving to make the guitar a bit more uniquely mine since it is a mass produced run. There is definitely something about a true 60s strat with all the history and mojo, but can't argue that the locking tuners and cutaway to access the higher frets is quite a plus. I love it and play it every day. All in all I would definitely go try one out and decide for yourself.
Please can you compare this with the gilmour strat you build with squire body and fender neck.

Sounds great! Sounds as great as my modded Harley Benton ST-62MN, upgraded with Ironstone Sliver ST pups and G&L 7 way PTB harness.

hiya ive got strat elite but this one look nicer ,but how is the neck is it really fat neck ? elite is c shape to d . its feels like im quite uncomfortable with elite and wanna change it .

Random question, but what are your thoughts on plekking guitars out of the factory or just plek in general?
Plek is always, always a good thing. Seriously improves lesser guitars but also noticeable improvement on high end guitars. I’m also doing stainless steel frets anytime I need a re-fret. They last forever and sound just fine to my ears. Good enough for EVH and Tommy Emanuel? Good enough for me, right?
What about the 60 cycle hum on those pickups? Is it as noticeable as say with a set of Texas Specials?
They're noiseless so totally noise-free in that respect :)
