You won’t regret it , just got mine last month I went with the Texas Tea , she is a little more heavier in weight than my 02 Highway one I had but not as heavy as my 77 , all in all it’s a great guitar and sounds awesome
A great upgrade from Fender for strats. The Ultra SSS ones S-1 switch turns available EXACTLY the same single-coils combinations present on CustomShop David Gilmour's signature BlackStrat (without hums!!!). Awesome!
Great demo. I don’t hear a big difference between the Elite and this. It does sound brighter. I love the color. This was the best review of the pick up setting on the net
just bought the cobalt blue at a GC - got a nice price. Do haggle, it's worth it. Case included. This guitar is fine enough to be called artwork! Love it. Running mine thru an Eventide and result is a slice of heaven. This of course a SSS, but I believe the bridge pickup is milled to allow an H, options everywhere. No whammy setup yet, should I bother?
Finally some really good sounding Noiseless pickups. These are certainly better then: Kinman, Mojotone or Zexcoil. Now . . . It actually sounds stratty, without being dull and chocked on the high end chime.
@@musikus7092 no it's there, but it has a little bit less mid range. ya it's not as chimey as the Yosemite pickups in the Performer or even the V-Mods in the Pro 1 and Pro 2, but they do give you some brightness. obviously with Ultra noiseless pickups, you do get some trade off, but on the flipside you get a far more versatile instrument. because you still have some clarity to be able to cut through a mix, especially for rock. now i guess it depends on your taste in music, the Yosemite pickups offer that full strat tone. so for Country and blues there perfect.
What an AWESOME AXE. Your Playen Really Makes It AWESOME'ER. 😂 & Yes Mark's Playen Is Awesome Also. Hope He & All Y'all Is Do'en Well? I Consider You Mark Jr 😁 Great Stuff. Thank's N'Stuff 😂
If anyone is selling a set of 5th gen noiseless strat pickups SSS please hit me up and I'll buy them ASAP, lefty trying to build my own Ultra Strat here :/ What an expensive project this'll be...
I absolutely hate the thin necks on these. Why can't fender make neck options on these? If I'm going to pay nearly $2K for a guitar I should be able to get a thick neck if I want one. They alienate customers by not giving options. Are you listening FENDER?!
Great playing! Checked three of these guitars today, blue, artic pearl and this mocha burst, I must say this is the most pathetic guitar Fender has ever made. The bridge is horrible, the contour at the back is so bad, pickups are noiseless but the tone is thin, zero feel. And lastly, the neck omg, it is the worst neck ever made, seriously Fender this is what you make for $2k. Wake up!!!
My first strat was bought in 1972 and the last was in 1990, now nearing retirement a new Ultra is in my sights. Enjoying the journey.

I’ve had my Mocha Burst Ultra for about a month now, really playing her in. Love everything about this guitar.
does the s1 switch put the pickups in series or parallel ?
@@deeonesauce JUST ADDS NECK PICKUP I THOUGHT?
Im just a few hours away from going to pick my mocha burst up at the music store....oh my.... can't wait.

good of satriani to stop in for the demo
Sounds super straty! ❤️🎸
Love this host. His playing is very very impressive. No fretbuzz or other signs of sloppy playing.

Great video, what happened to the other bald guy, Mark I think his name was?
No disrespect at all.. really GREAT playing and review.. but what happened, to Mark Lucas?

No left-handed options on any of the Ultra range of guitars and bases.
I'm naturally left handed and have no problem playing a right handed guitar. It's called adaptation :)
John, I can also play guitar right handed, but I am much better playing left handed.
There are now left-handed Ultras - thanks Fender.
In the fat vs thin battle, this one easily picks up the thin trophy, especially with this setup and these amp settings.
ITS FUNNY IN THIS RECORDING YES BUT LISTEN TO OTHER RECORDINGS ITS NOT THIN
A shame they stop doing the Series/Parallel s1 for this one that does the same as a blend wiring that costs basically nothing.
Satriani son ?
high end seem a bit harsh.. could be your amp or those noiseless pickups. dont know. your voiceover is also lacking bottom

I love Strats when they don't have that quack tone
u have to go back to the 60s 3 way switches:)
I absolutely

American original series have substantial necks, like in the old days.
You may consider G&L guitars , offering various options, in cluding neck profile. All for a high end quality at reasonable price.
I'm pretty sure they have a CUSTOM shop where they cater for individual needs.
Buy a Gibson
Then just use their custom shop feature. 🤦🏽♂️
No lefty models. Nnnnk.
Guitars for normal people! None for the left handed freaks! ;)
too thin sounding
Great playing!

I love everything you hate about it. I tried one and bought it on the spot for $1500 brand new :)
@@ShamanicSavant nice deal and good for you ;)
