What a lovely collection! A wonderful variety of shapes and colors. I remember most of them from other videos but it is fun to see them all together. Seeing them together helps to give an idea of what would be useful for me. Thanks for another great video, Jaime.💕
Beautiful handbag collection! I love the fact that you are no promoting or focus solely on luxury designer bags. I am a bag lover myself and there are so many options and choices, with a combination of style and quality! I am a subbbie for a long while but never left a message. Just wanted to say hi and love your style!
Thank you so much for finally popping in to say hi! I totally agree with you - I love designer handbags but they're a big splurge and experience has shown me time and again that you can get great quality at a lower price point (that's much more inclusive). Hope you're having a great weekend x
You deserve a lot more subscribers! :D I really enjoy your videos (and definitely your style), the way you put things together really inspires me (literally takes me out of my sneakers and try different things haha). Classic, basic, clean, comfortable, but very stylish! I hope one day you can give ideas on how to style sneakers because tbh I live in it lol.
Hi, love your informative video! Also of course love your handbag collection! I wish I saw this when I was living in Australia! I have seen Oroton while shopping there, but haven't heard of it so never made the jump. Now I want to try them out. Good to hear the Everlane and Cuyana totes are nice. I have the vintage Fendi bag and love the FF subtle logo.
Thank you so much! It's funny, I would never have looked twice at Oroton but they've had a complete change in the direction of the brand; it feels a little drawn from the more minimal luxury designer aesthetic (which I love), and the bags all feel really nice quality too. The vintage Fendi is great isn't it? I love how subtle the monogram is - I actually also like their vintage stripe canvas design too. It's so chic! x
How do you like your Trotteur bag still? I really like the style for an everyday crossbody but my only concern is if it'll fit an iPhone X (with case) comfortably and leave room for a couple of other items.
Thanks Charissa - I will definitely try to film one soon, in the meantime, you can read my review here: www.mademois-elle.com/polene-number-one-mini-bag-review/
You have a beautiful collection. My favourite was de Boy bag. I'm not really a bag girl, I tend to carry too much stuff and my shoulder suffers haha. My go-to is a smallish nylon crossbody bag from Le Sport Sac.
Thank you - I've been reaching for my Boy bag quite a bit recently; it's perfect for when I want to downsize or don't need to carry much with me :) That sounds lovely! x
I decided to sell it towards the end of last year - I'd stopped reaching for it entirely and while I never thought I would part ways with my first designer bag, I thought it was a shame to see it sitting on the shelf not being worn x
Thumbs up to the Cuyana too. :) I have the unstructured one in black and caramel and ended up buying the insert in their blush color - looks stunning as a contrast inside those two colors and making it easier to find things (especially inside the black tote). At first I was going to do the structured tote but I liked the option of having a 'soft body-hugging' option without the insert and a more sturdy option for when I'm traveling. Insofar as the Linjer, I adore my chestnut one and I'm waiting for the black to come back into stock (yes, I can be a bit redundant). The only thing that niggles me is that my magnet isn't making that 'thonk' sound that yours does, which I totally wish it did. It's a much softer magnet it seems. Sometimes I think I'm verging on OCD with these bags. :) xoxo
I've been meaning to buy the insert, but the shipping for a single item is pretty high so I'm holding off until there's a few other things I'd like to go for. The Linjer tote in black is GORGEOUS! Hehe - no I'm the same with a lot of my items too :)
Lovely handbag collection! I surprised myself by how much I love your Fendi bag - I'm usually not one for big logos, but I have to agree with you that it's actually fairly inconspicuous. Somehow it just works, and I also love the vintage feel it has. And that Celine bag... serious bag envy going on here:) On another note, would it be possible to do a comparison video between the two Everlane market totes? I'm very curious as to how much can fit into the square vs the regular one...
Thank you! I think the logos on it are fairly discreet being black on black, which helps stop it from feeling too loud. I've actually done a blog post comparing them side by side if you want to read that one here: www.mademois-elle.com/everlane-day-square-tote-vs-the-everlane-day-market-tote-comparison-review/
My top picks are The Celine, Phillip Lim, Polene and the velvet constellation ... oh, and your boy 😎 Would you consider the Mansur Gavriel bucket bag? I think the Loeve puzzle bag would suit you? Have a great Tuesday Miss J!
I actually used to own a MG bucket bag - I bought it when I did the 5PFW challenge the first time around and wasn't too happy with how the tie wore on mine? I think I sold it as we were saving for our wedding and I wanted to put funds towards that. I'd love to look at perhaps getting it in the smaller size but it's not a big priority. I LOVE the Loewe puzzle bag - it's been on my wishlist for some time. I'd like to splurge on a new bag this year and have a few options so taking my time before I decide to buy :) Thanks and you too! x
Or maybe it’s time to invest in a Prada or a Valentino tote, since that’s your jam ☺️ I reckon you need a YSL clutch in your collection 😬 Haha decisions decisions! How about a luxury Wishlist video? Thanks for the quick responses Miss J 😘
You know I used to have a YSL clutch - the envelope one! I bought it in Vegas with my girlfriend (she got the same one) but I just don't have the lifestyle where I go out a lot. Wishlist videos are fun for sure - that's a great idea! x
Wow, Jamie! I can see why you love all of them - indeed a very well curated collection, and they're all you! Jamie, I wonder if a good shoemaker can help camouflage the scratch on the Celine bag. They've helped me fix quite a few leather scratches and tears. They can be real magicians 😇
Thanks Barb! Sadly that one seems to be completely sold out now which is a shame, but if I get another alternative in the future I'll definitely do a review x
Thank you :) I only have a couple watches but the only one I wear is my Linjer petite. I'd actually really love to invest in a Cartier Tank watch but it's a bit out of my budget. One day! x
It was such a splurge but two years on and I still absolutely adore it. I've actually been reaching for it a bit recently - it's small but holds all the essentials and I don't need much else! :)
I love the shape of the Linjer bag! Is it hard to fit stuff in because of the curved bottom? I always wondered about that with rounded bags. I used to want a mini Chanel flap as Chase Amie loves hers so much and the mini size would suit my frame, and she shows how it fits a surprising amount. However, there are 2 reasons I’d never buy it now. 1) the chain length is long for average height people let alone someone with my short height and it can’t be adjusted. 2) I personally am really turned off Chanel as a brand and don’t want them to have any of my money. They price increases are far beyond inflation and logic - it’s purely price gouging in my opinion. And of course people are welcome to do what they want with their money, I have no issue with that. It just leaves a sour taste in my mouth as Chanel is just pushing it with price hikes and I’ve heard many complain their service is rude and unkind. I also don’t appreciate what Chanel stands for now - to me it’s no longer become primarily about classic style and elegance, instead its heavily status related with the logo becoming well known. I tend to associate them with driving this more materialistic and designer focussed lifestyle, which I don’t believe luxury should be driven by although it makes sense from a profit maximising perspective. I LOVE that Celine bag on you, that is he kind of understated elegance and design I prefer in luxury goods. Is the strap adjustable? To me luxury and really high end goods (so anything over $1500 for me at this stage in my life) are meant to be about quality, craftsmanship, service, unique designs, history, a special moment. That’s influenced my idea that the only really expensive luxury I’d feel I could spend on until I’m at least 25 with substantial savings and a plan for my future living, would be jewellery since it’s the kind of thing that can be worn everyday and still stay relatively pristine, and it holds a lot of symbolic meaning. I have a watch from my friends for my 18th, it’s a Marc by Marc Jacobs so a relatively ‘affordable’ designer item but I love it so much because of what it means to me and as I’ve used it for 5 years and aside from minor tarnishing and replacing the leather band, it’s still in very good condition. However I’ve been pondering the wisdom of whether the price increase to go to places like Cartier and VCA are worth the supposed quality increase to me. I do feel there is a visual quality increase from examining similar items compared to e.g. Tiffany’s (not to say their work is bad, but there’s a difference especially with the chains I’ve noted), but I’m not a jeweller I can’t distinguish actual stone and craftsmanship differences on that scale. And I also qs how much of it in my head is marketing. Since the price differential is extremely hefty moving between the three. I know realistically it’s probably unnecessary to get THE highest quality strongest craftsmanship as I’m not rough with my items, but I’d want whatever I bought to last me a lifetime with little maintenance. My grandma has a pair of Cartier reading glasses she was gifted 25+ years ago and they are still as perfect as they were on the day she received them. That is the kind of quality I don’t mind paying for. I do also find the service better at Cartier than other places, even if I come in to browse very underdressed ie in my running clothes after a workout once 😂 and to me that’s extremely important, when something becomes that expensive and it’s connected to a house of luxury they need to make every single aspect of the experience impeccable and treat you with respect. I would never buy from anyone who was rude, I’m definitely the kind to remember bad service and there are websites and places I won’t ever go now because of past behaviour.
It can be a little awkward but I still find it fits a really reasonable amount inside. As for the mini Chanel flap... Funnily enough I had the opportunity to buy it when I was getting my boy bag. It's FAR too long and I feel like a lot of people don't mention this or maybe just don't care and buy anyway as if it's a status symbol? I think in part this is also directly correlated to how you're budgeting your money and what your priorities are - for me, I'd rather put my additional savings into renovating our house as we've got some exciting things planned. I think it's good to have high expectations though, especially when you are spending that much money. I expect my designer handbags to be items that I have until I'm late in my years - at least fingers crossed anyway :)
Where's your Proenza Schouler bag?! I always admired it when you used to show it in your old videos. Not a fan of the Fendi bag to be honest, but glad to see you are liking it and making a good use out of it :)

I have that Fendi bag in brown. I didn't realize the price of Fendi bags went up. It is the only thing I have from my late mother so I won't ever sell it.
All your bags are really lovely but I must admit to finding the whole handbag thing a bit mystifying. Unless one is walking for kms every day with a bag swinging from your hand or over your shoulder, how much are they actually seen compared to our clothes/shoes/jewellery? My bags spends most of their time being kicked around under my desk to be honest, far less time hanging off me. Whilst I'm on my soapbox I'm just as perplexed by the trenchcoat thing, neither waterproof or really warm, why? Yes they look really nice but I don't think they have any actual function as an item of clothing. Will now be quiet & dismount from soapbox......
I think you're either a handbag or a shoe girl - for me it's all about shoes but given my love of fashion I do appreciate a great handbag too. Haha as for trench coats, I personally love them. I find in Sydney, they make a great lightweight jacket option as our autumns are fairly mild, and the ones I have are water resistant so they're perfect if you get caught in the rain. Most (good) trench coats will be made from a waxed cotton or cotton canvas that should protect against rain xx
@@mademoisellejaime I do love all the handbags, they are beautiful, it's just that I wonder how much they are actually seen. However, if you're a person that walks a lot then yes, a handbag is def part of the outfit. Maybe it's a reflection of my laziness, either in my car or sitting down not showing off a handbag, LOL.

Hey Emily xx I'm getting back into Oroton now too. Their leather is lovely 🙂
You are doing an amazing job posting content very day! I don't know how you're doing it! Also, I love the red lip on you!
Thank you. Almost at the end now - I can't believe it! xx
My weakness is bags! 💕 Love the great collection and I really like the classic look of the Fendi bag with the clean lines. ❤️
I'm more of a shoe girl but definitely appreciate a great handbag! The Fendi is great isn't it? A surprising one for me but I love it :)

I love the Cuyana one if you're after something a bit less structured, otherwise the Linjer or Everlane day square totes are great options :)
What happened to your Proenza Schouler bag??

Oh cool! I couldn't spot it so might not be on the Amazon AU website :)
