Usually 2,000 people work for the team, the most are back in the UK working on the computers on race days sifting through tonnes of data so the pit and drivers get every help they need......
Risk of the job, everyone who works in this factory knows that can happen. They do it for the beautiful things they can achieve when everything goes right. So not many people with the same mentality as you work here.
I believe he was just putting all the pieces together for the front of the cockpit at the factory for shipping reasons. The teams reassemble the whole car on Thursday and run diagnostic tests in the garage to make sure everything is working; if Ole fucked up something, the mechanics at the track will fix it.
I love how REAL this film is. The honesty and emotion from the guys makes for a really good feel for what it's like to work on the team. It's hard work that demands a lot from life, but provides a lot of pride and fulfillment.

The behind the scenes workers such as factory, pit crew, technicians, engineers and so on don't get as much credit that they deserve they are truly the back bone of the team
Fair play to this Mechanic for being well-able to speak and make this Clip so interesting. Ya wouldn't necessarily expect a standard Mechanic to like, be comfortable in front of a Camera, let alone well able to talk like this guy is here. : )
Red bull as a company tends to film just about everything they do. I think you'd feel out of place working there if you didn't like being in front of a camera lol.
That mechanic probably makes about 250 thousand pounds a year and more than likely has an engineering degree of some sort. These aren’t regular mechanics

CV-KETEL31 you have to start young to make it, and it helps coming from an affluent family. Some people know they’re not suited to the limelight. Being a race mechanic is being directly responsible for the outcome of the race, without driving.

5:25 is exactly what happened at yesterdays DTM Race in Budapest. A little screw jammed the brakes of a BMW and therefore changed the entire Race! Great explanation! :)
Very cool piece of behind the scenes, we can see these are truly great professionals and dedicated people to the cause of winning. Well done RBR mkt team!
This is such an awesome video! I'm finding these behind the scenes videos just as interesting as the racing! Please continue to share these. Thanks for the upload :)
I guess so many of us has forgotten the word sportmanship and no doubt thats explained why Formula 1 racing is by far the most prestige sport....it embodies a solid structure of teamwork. Just about everyone in a team has their role. A noble trait of recognition in governing a team to win the race in the track.
swSephy | Sim Racing they do it on purpose, so that your not fixated on what they have, every part of that car and the job on that car is a secret and they want to keep it that way
How do you clear U.S. Customs so fast? I took a month for me to get my football jersey and three weeks of that it was sitting at a facility in the American south waiting to be inspected.
Most likely because of ATA Carnet. It’s for temporary import = the cars are just for the race, and they will bring it back to origin country after that. Your football jersey is a normal import.
Very cool. Thank you guys for sharing. I know what it is like with the old ChampCar & current IndyCar. A fun behind the scenes look into your F1 world.
to get a gig. I assume you'd require an engineering degree. what more is required, and what path would you recommend taking to find a job with a racing team such as yours?? great video and really would love to have a similar career.
If that's what they are all taking to EVERY race weekend to the tracks. Why not, in an effort to be green and reduce shipping budget, have most of that stuff at the track e.g. wheel guns for pit stops could be stored at the track
Does anyone know what the salary of these mechanics are? At one level it seems to be specialised but there's also a lot of gophering and F1 teams probably aren't short of applicants
woahh...thats hell of a preparation for a race....now i realised why drivers thanks their team so much after winning a grand prix...hats off people
The "car" is indeed half part of the victory.
The drivers only drive the car.

Ole has the toughest job. If the car breaks down he takes all the blame. If it runs good and they win the race. The driver gets the credit. Poor Ole.

Thanks, that was a great video. The side of the team/sport you rarely get to see.
It's great to see the mechanics and the rest of the team on how they prepare for a race. Great job in keeping the cars in top shape.
Why does everyone in Red Bull sound exactly like Christian Horner
it's called being english
They don't, but sound similar because you can't tell apart from various accents.
