Okay so. My original Carnosaur reviews were claimed :) So I re-edited them together and came up with a "VHS" look that I think might save me from future automatic claims..I realize the stupid Iguana joke in Carnosaur 2 got cut off in the editing process but it took 3 hours for this to render because of the VHS look sooooo I don't care.
@@BigBadWolf995 well, 98.9% stock footage. The rest isn’t anything to be proud of. I’ve seen Jurassic Park fan films from the early 00’s with better dinosaur effects than what they ‘produced’ for the few ‘original footage’ scenes.
The book is honestly pretty decent. If the author put more thought into making the characters more likeable and didn't pawn his work off to the first bidder I think Carnosaur could have had a very different legact. James Cameron wanted to make Jurassic Park a horror film before Spielberg was chosen to direct it. I think he could have done something cool with Carnosaur had he been aware of the novel's existence
Having read it like a year ago do feel the book has quite a lot of potential. It’s nothing like the JP books and even though author has sadly passed away but I do think a good adaptation would do Justice. Knowing James Cameron wanted to do a darker version of the JP films I do feel Carnosaur would fit well with him plus the horror vibes of aliens and the original terminator,do think Cameron would pull a very respectable dinosaur film with a very different theme
Even though the 2and movie is just a Aliens ripoff like a lot of b movies around that time, it's seriously one of my favorites. I love the Raptor suits.
My mom rented this for me in blockbuster back when I was 7-8, she thought it was Jurassic park, one of the best b-rayed movies ever so corny so dumb so good. So dumb it's good
Is anyone gonna comment in the background music from conkers bad fur day? Lol great review. Literally forgot about a lot of these movies and have been bing watching your channel since I found it. Can’t wait for more content.
Carnosaur is the best movie trilogy ever including Raptor and The Eden Formula. If I want to make remakes for all the Carnosaur movies everyone will say… Steven Spielberg: Zachary Renn, you’re our hero. Roger Corman: Congratulations Zach, thank you for remaking the Carnosaur movies even Raptor and The Eden Formula. Fans: We love you Zachary Renn. *cheers*
then imagine someone thought it was a good idea to make a movie edited from all 3 carnosaur movies and Humanoids from the Deep (1980) and Humanoids from the Deep (1980) well I guess thats how Raptor (2001) was made or at least thats what it says on imdb
Pile as much shit as you want on Rodger Corman he's produced over 415 movies so he must be doing something right. He gave a lot of big names in Hollywood their start and as bad as some of his movies were most of the time they were fun.
@@CorruptNostalgiaI love all the Carnosaur movies including Raptor and The Eden Formula in my honest opinion. I think it’s time for Carnosaur to have a remake.
Haha 2:44 that must have been an awkward scene to film I imagine. Some creepy dude right in the guys face as he's eating a pie. 12:00 haha stock roars followed with barney music. nice reviews!
Carnosaur was thought up before jurassic park. I don't know if it was in book form before it but it was before jurassic park came along. Jurassic park screwed up a lot of the dinosaurs mainly in size. Especially about the T.Rex not seeing something unless it moved. They got that from the book, they used amphibian d.n.a and amphibians don't eat their prey unless it's moving . Maybe because they only eat live animals. Carnosaur got the deinonychus right . They were not velociraptors in jurassic park but deinonychus. Plus they should have called it Mesozoic park instead. There was more than one period dinosaur in it.
Carnosaur was a novel by Harry Adam Knight and the PAPERBACK version was around in 1984. The author wanted to make it a Major Motion Picture back in the early 1980s, but they ALL thought a movie about dinosaurs eating people in present day times would never sell. Roger Corman was 1 of the only people who believed in a story like that. Due to the small amount of money that was put into the movie, everything had to explain due to the limited amount of money they had.
Best we can hope for is that something got drafted this year seeing as the big ransomware leak didn't have anything relating to DC. Maybe Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworks could have a spiritual successor of their own (if he even wants to make one that is), but then that'll likely be Xbox/PC only.
Also this movie actually has alot of copies, I mean actual copies, like someone copied the entire movie, the whole entire movie and just named it different, the one my mom rented was called "raptor" basically this movie, same exact movie, different name.
Wait a minute. You mentioned raptor at the end. And I mentioned it in the comments, maybe I don't actually remember it, but I swear it was raptor and it was basically the first carnosour but named raptor. Hmm memory block? On my part. I saw it as a kid so maybe my brain is all "no you didn't see that movie actually"
@@CorruptNostalgia ooooooooooooh, I see, I still remember alot of it, and this video made me remember it, maybe its one of those "they just changed one scene" situations. Anyways thanks for the reply, my mom still talks about it every know and then xD
Carnosaur was enjoyable schlock...and frankly, as a movie outside the dinos, J Park was a bad movie...but it doesn't matter because it was the first time we saw real-looking dinos and it looked spectacular. It was basically dinosaur-fan porn. All that mattered was looks. dialogue? A plot that makes sense or isn't predictable? who cares? Tho I think the 'could/should' line is gold
Man I read the title as "Rewriting" instead of "Reviewing" and I was waiting for your version of the plot to deviate for the first three minutes. I think it's time for bed.
I loathe _Carnosaur_ as much as I love _Jurassic Park_ . And that's only because of Jennifer Runyon; if she wasn't in it, I'd despise the movie even more.
Carnosaur Is easily one of the most bat-shit insane and downright bizarre films I’ve ever witnessed. Sadly it gets a little too convoluted towards the third act and kind of loses itself. Also the pacing kind of hurts as well. While the sequels are still bad I do prefer them over the original as they were more straightforward and transparent with what they were trying to be , which is basically just Aliens rip offs but with dinosaurs.
The first movie is awful and unwatchable. The second two (especially “Carnosaur II”) are also bad movies, but also manage to be a lot more enjoyable, if only because they (1.) they take themselves far less seriously (“C2” doesn’t even hide the fact that the plot is jacked from “Aliens”), and (2.) both were in the hands of directors who were better-able to film around the dinosaur puppets’ flaws.

Carnosaur 2's is beat for beat a dollar store version of Aliens.
It's bad but fun for a cheesy movie night. lol
I have all the Carnosaur movies on DVD
About those two unofficial sequels after 3: you’re not missing much. Raptor in particular is 95% stock footage from the first three films.
So is, "The Eden Formula."

I remember raptor having such a odd sex scene in that movie when I was a kid idk if it was that one of another movie
Eden Formula does have some original footage... but man, if your eyes can puke at the effects, they would.

I actually really love the first Carnosaur. I've always found it incredibly entertaining!!
Hell yea! Preach !
1-2 are excellent B movies
I remember back in the 90s there was a show on Discovery Channel called Movie Magic that did behind the scenes special in the making of Carnosaur
I discovered your channel the other day and am already binging it’s content. Thank you for showcasing these.
"Is that your sperm count, or your IQ? Ya DICK!" That's gotta be one of the funniest lines I've ever heard in my life!

So Carnosaur is a knock-off that was released before the movie it's supposed to rip off? That's unusual.
Unusual but not unheard of. A ton of Godzilla rip offs came out before 1998 was released as well

The book was actually not bad. Movie is only using tittle and some names from the book. Plot and characters are completly different.
I would not be surprised if Capcom got inspired by this film what made Dino Crisis franchise also hopefully makes it Remake in ps5🦕🦖

I would always maintain the opinion that Carnosaur velociraptors are like the mix between Xenomorphs from the alien films and JP’s raptors
