It is generous and kind of you to share your experience, knowledge and templates. Thank you! I bought some art from you in 2019, and you've inspired me to try my hand at selling some of my own art on Etsy. This video was very helpful. Just liked and subscribed, and will watch your other videos with great interest. Cheers!
Your image size of the 2x3 Ratio file is 6000 x 9000 (300 ppi). In the Ratio & Sizes document you are stating that you can print a 24"x36" but that won't hold the 300 ppi. Any reason why you decided to make the size 6000 x 9000 and not higher?
how does it keep from distorting the image with all the resizing,I want my customers to have the very best quality to print out on their end...thank you..
Your video can be really useful, if you don't repeat the same process 3-4 times. Show us how real-life examples, of how to upload and make them ready for sale, instead.
I have a question please...I have a digital image ratio 3:4 , but i want to divide it in 3 part to sell it on etsy as Triptych ( i divide it on photoshop with "guide layout " ),.Now each image is not anymore with 3:4 ratio, so how can i convert it again to sell it in all format ? Thank you for the video and i hope you can answer.
I was wondering this exact something ,@brandontimothy has a tutorial on doing a Triptych but does not explain how to get the images back to the correct file size or how to put them together in files..Ingredients are missing from this recipe. and they are the important ones...
Great video.. Just set up an Etsy Shop this week and now I can see that I will be editing every single one of my listings... 😂. @@brandontimothycan I ask a question? I’ve managed to covert my digital wall art into 5 different sizes but how do I actually add that to ETSY? I can’t see a variation option like physical products? If your image is pixels (JPEG), convert it to a vector format (SVG). Then you can scale up to an image the size of a billboard if you could find a paper printer to process it! There will be no blurry pixilizations, faceted colors or ragged edges.
Hi Brandon, this was very helpful. Thank you! I use Procreate and 24x36 is too large of a file. I believe the largest I can do is 20x30. You mentioned a 20x30 file can also be printed as 24x36? Have you had clients done this successfully without loosing resolution?
I don't have PS and not interested in learning it right now...Would you know how these dimensions can be achieved in Canva? Or Procreate, if that's possible? Thanks

Hi Brandon! Thank you so much for this video! I use procreate for my digital illustrations. But I would like to know what size should I design for my artwork?
Super helpful video, thank you! Do you think it'd be a bad thing to sell pieces at just one aspect ratio? Like "This piece is a 2:3 aspect ratio, so it's printable sizes are 24x36 etc.." It seems like a ton of work to make 5 resizings for each listing, if I'm going to have 100+ listings..
Thanks for watching! I understand that selling pieces in one size can save time, but for me offering different sizes can attract more buyers. Buyers appreciate having options to choose from. It's very important to consider your buyer's preferences.
So if my original file is 4096 x 4096, how do I get that into a 5 x 7 or 8.5 x 11? I tried to add to the international psd but no matter what I do it cuts part of the image.mi know you said you start by 18” x 24”…. I’m upscaling my images, do I need to rescale by 6 times? My upscaler only upscaler 4times. Please help because I’m so confused
Hi Crypto! If you are using Photoshop, open your original file. Then, press CTRL+ALT+I to bring up the image size dialog. You will see the original size in pixels. To convert, choose Inches from the Width/Length dropdown menu. The system will automatically convert pixels to inches. Make the necessary changes and adjustments there. Let me know if this helps.
Great video, thanks for your insight! I actually made a script that resizes one image to all those ratios automatically and saves them as new files with the ratio in the name. I got so tired to do this with all my images hehe
@carnegard I did almost the same thing. I commissioned a javascript programmer to create the script for me but I didn't have it resize the photos because no javascript can properly decide the cropping the image when you go from say a 2:3 Ratio to a 4:5 Ratio. That's something that takes a human eyeball and preference for what might be clipped by the ratio difference. Just my take on it anyway. I might see if further scripting could help but I heard of someone who tried the same thing and while it did the job, the images just didn't come out the way the artist expected and consequently some customers might not be happy. Since reviews on Etsy and other forums plan a big role, I'd rather eyeball it. Perhaps AI will get into everyday scripting but we're not quite there yet.
@@musictheory4u153 You can have someone prepare a script for you. I did... but I didn't go as far as the resizing and cropping. To me that takes a good human eye.

fantastic video and really appreciate the help. This is something I have struggled with for a little while. One issue, I have made the art in 3:4 on midjourney, but when I drag in photoshop, it doesn't fill the template like you show. Any ideas why that would be? I find myself scaling the image up - it still shows as 300dpi, but I do worry about the image quality a little when printed out. Thanks again.
I'm glad the video was helpful. When dragging in an image, Photoshop might not automatically fit it perfectly to the template. One way to address this is to use the "Free Transform" tool (Ctrl+T or Command+T on Mac) after dragging the image. Hold down the Shift key while resizing to maintain the aspect ratio and prevent distortion. If you're concerned about image quality when scaling up, it's a valid consideration. Ensure your original artwork has a high enough resolution to maintain quality when enlarged.
Curious how you handle the export of your final image files for Etsy. I followed these instructions earlier (but couldn't open your .psds so made my own) and some of the files are like...double the size of what Etsy allows per file. I set each ratio canvas up at the largest dimensions (in inches) for that ratio category but maybe that's not right? Can you help?
Always create your art in 300 PPI in whatever application you are working with. Note that you want to focus on PPI and not DPI (which is a printing standard). The two things are not identical AI-Man. If you mean the MB size for the files for Etsy then there are workarounds for file size such as using Google Drive as Brendon used here.
My designs have a lot of work done and they are very heavy. once i saved them as JPG th sizes are above 30mb! so how do i save in Photoshop so they are still within these sizes, keep the 300dpi but not so heavy?
Im having trouble setting up my cnavas file within procreate and was wondering if you had any tips/could do a video on how your process is when you upload digital downloads to etsy from something you made in procreate.
Hello! I'm sorry, but I no longer offer 1-on-1 coaching calls. However, you can join my Free Masterclass Webinar here: bit.ly/bt-free-webinar. Hope to see you there! 😀
Hi Brandon, So are you saying that when you drop a photo into one of your 4 ratio files that it automatically adjusts the photo? Can this only be changed in the Photoshop application or can you do the same thing in say like Procreate?
It does not automatically adjust the photo. You place or import the image into the PSD file then you size it for the canvas dimensions Brandon provided.
I use mockups that I purchase from Creative Market. You can find them here: creativemarket.com/?u=brandontimothy. They're great for visualizing how designs will look in a space. Let me know if you need more info! 😊
Hey brandon! So, if i understand it well, its NOT necessery to work on the same resolutions, as ur package, what is important is the aspect ratio. Your international is 5906x8268, which is too big of a workplace for me, but i resized it to 4096x5734 - its the same ratio. Is it matter? I mean, u had a clean 50x70 cm size, i have 35x49. But for prints, its only the aspect ratio that matters, and can be printed to any size, right?
This is the most helpful video I’ve seen on this topic. And the fact you made the PSD files available to download - you’re a legend! Thank you!!!!

What was the combination to export all files at the same time?
Im having trouble setting up my cnavas file within procreate and was wondering if you had any tips/could do a video on how your process is when you upload digital downloads to etsy from something you made in procreate.
I find your videos very useful. Thank you
Do you offer any 1:1 tutoring? I have an issue that I could use help navigating.
Hello! I'm sorry, but I no longer offer 1-on-1 coaching calls. However, you can join my Free Masterclass Webinar here: bit.ly/bt-free-webinar. Hope to see you there! 😀
Thanks! You took this to a higher level. And actually simplified it for me.
how does this work for images that wasnt created in photoshop?
So for the ISO, sizing the original at 50x70 cm will work for all the ISO sizes? I'm a little confused.
Thank you Tim, really kind of you!
Best tutorial I've seen so far. One question if possible, what app do you use for interior preview?
