Right?! And that’s on stock ecu too. With a standalone ecu and arp head studs it would do 220hp without an issue 😈

Absolutely sick build. I have an imported 316i in the US. It’s a shame they weren’t sold here so there isn’t extra motors other wise I would love to boost the single cam. Much better sound.

I did cheat and I bought a manifold (Ali express, sweet m50 ones, gate at the front, perfect for RHD) but the rest I welded up, it’s ready for a tune. Anyways enough about me, look forward to some compact footage, and ofcourse your old trusty… it’s like a chameleon your e36.. changing every year.. good though! 👌

Thanks for sharing this. I going do this kind of build on my 316 touring e30. Its nice to see that maf can be tuned to idle 270cc injectors. Do you remember what was afr at idle? I think i go for those 270 injectors and 1 extra ev14 374injector between maf/throlte body. Using hobbs switch to active it on boost to get that +-200bhp range.

Hello from the Philippines, I had an M43 turbo in the past and made around 160rwhhp and it was fun but it failed when a freak rainstorm destroyed my ECU and it never run reliably. Now I have an S52 swap with a supercharger.
Really nice video, today i lapped the valves and changed head gasket on my E30 M40 engine and i am really interested on getting a turbo but it's a lot of money...

e36 2 door hatch has always been a fav. So hard to find in good nic these days. Pretty sure they came out in a 1.8 and 1.9L 4 cyl also ;) ;) goes mad tho. Keep it up boiz!

this is an inspiration. I want to turbo my lada niva. It runs on LPG so i basically already have an adjustable fuel map. Car needs a little more powa. 80hp original.

I managed to get 243hp out of my 1.6, but I changed the intake manifold to a 1.8 from Audi and slightly modified the speeduino controller.

So did you tuned stock ECU on that after adjusting manually boost and fuel level? Can you please share a dyno paper? Would like to see if that small T25 losing a lot of torque in high rpm.

They were pretty solid at 12afr throughout. These m43 engine are bloody tough so I’d expect it should last a while!!

Thanks bro! Nah no need for blow off valve. They're a myth haha. Compressor surge sounds way better anyways. A BOV will help on a daily car over many years of driving but not at all necessary on a track car etc.

iv got a pair of OE garrett 300zx turbos from a 3.0 v6, so should spool well on the 1.6
so if i detonate 1 if got a spare haha

Yep power at the wheels. Unsure on torque sorry, but it feels quite torquey for a lil 1.6L
have you mentioned, that there is a mid range where car is runing 19 AFR with 10 psi boost? :) I have vag 320's for my built so will try it for sure, but just with stock FPR. Will be there some movie from skids in this car at matsuri?
Nah that was a problem with the dyno wideband, it was playing up in a few of the runs. We would never run it through a pass with 19 afr 🤣🤣. Yep we’ll be filming skids at matsuri!

What turbo would you recommend for a e36 sedan m52b25 stick with headgasket and headstuds. Purely for better drifts. Not a power build. Only looking for around 330-350hp??
gt35 82R on 8psi should put you at 300hp tuned

It’s all about getting your hands dirty bro! I’ve made the videos to prove it works and is a great wee setup. But attention to detail is key if you’re doing it on a daily or street car
Did you need to use adapters to fit the injectors in or are they a straight swap?? ... if you needed the adapters could you plz link some in the description ♡♡ in the process of turboing my m44 but injectors and maybe deleting the IACV is next steps

I need to fabricate some adaptors because the ford injectors are way to small to fit the ports in manifold just look at stock injectors side by side with ford ones unless we have some random manifold on our e46

You'll get the exact same result with an m40b18 as they're VERY similar to the m43. Send it!

what's the stock N/A power figure on the dyno?. BMW said 75kW for B16 but the number would be different on each dyno
75kw is crank power, not power at the wheels. Jordan dyno’d his other m43 and it was 55kw at the wheels 🤣. So 130kw is a massive increase!

Everything stock and works perfectly at this power level. Upgrade clutch and you’ll be fine

Hoping I can do this to my E30 318i but there's a stigma around doing such a mod. If people turbo-charge Miata engines then why not a M40B18?

what kind of fuel are you using? I feel like the na timing is going to be too much and the engine may die to detenation but I also dont know much about these engines nor the setup.
These engines have very mild timing from factory. We have 98 fuel. This thing is super happy. No knock or detonation at all.
@@itsmikelake yeah like i said idk what the stock timing is like. 98octane is fucking awesome for pump gas. Im in california so we only have 91 octane but we do have e85. Pretty sweet deal. We dont have the 1.6 in the states. What is the compression ratio on that thing?

Nope. No need as the turbo is quite small. It’s all about response when it comes to drifting 😈

They’re centreline wheels. You can find them pretty frequently on marketplace!

M42b18 (1994) i have done all the mechanical part. Im driving it with stock.ecu stock injectors and an fuel presure regulator. I dont know.anything about tuning it. So tell me what to do. I heard you saying playing with afm but u dint show it. Im runing on low bost like.0.3 0.4 bar for the moment. Tell me what to do.with that afm. I havent touched the oem fuel regulator i.just aded another one adjustable. And if i rember i set it at 3.2 bar on idle. Help me with this because no one in my country works with this cars
