There’s an old saying, something about skinning cats, I think that might apply here. Keep this up and we’ll start calling you Sparky. Good to see another video from you Brian, stay warm and we’ll see you soon.
Nice to see you, Brian. Sparks! Didn't you have a barn blow over last year? Figure out what you are going to do with that, I was hoping you might come up with another this old barn shop series but I am still happy with the first one. Thanks for the videos.
I see 7210 on the rusty one, we replaced ours and the new one was not much tighter. Is your new one to provide more contact on the shaft? I highly suggest a grease fitting install and use spline grease at least once a year, nice feature on a tractor to seperate the rear but high wear area.
Yeah the rust dust really eats up the splines. Using this other yoke Addams another 3/8” of spline contact and it’s mostly on an unworn area so hopefully it will go another 9000hrs without having to pull the power quad to replace the shaft.
I had some 8.1 heads flowed on saturday. The one we were running has 2.2 valves and it flowed about 385 on the intake. The other one I put in a divider in the intake port and installed a 2.100 valve. Other than that the port was stock and it flowed over 400. The flow bench operator thinks something is wrong with the bench. Have you ever had one flowed? I didnt think they would flow this much.
Yeah the stock valve with good porting normally I see about 360cfm @.750” lift. 400 on a stock port sounds way high as pretty sure when I had a stock 7.6 done way back it was like 250 cfm at about .600
Cuz the coolant is only not frozen because there is a tank heater on it. I didn’t want ice cycles hanging off the grinder when I was done as it was about 0f in the shop that day.
Just what I needed, Sparks to warn by by 🙂Darn chemo,,,, I don't ever think my blood will thicken up enough to get warm (@@)! What's the yoke belong to Brian? Looks like the one's that were on my LN 9000 Ford dump truck. Bought me a go cart on stereos yesterday,,,, they call it a Honda Fit , but fun as H___L to drive with 5 sp manual, and room to enough to pass Motel 6 on trips,,Ha! Bear
That's the first time I've ever seen a surface grinder used like a face mill ! 🤯
I’ll admit I was a little surprised when it came out of the lathe chuck, but this action on the grinder was just awesome! Thank you Brian.
Thought your wheel was gona blow brother!
Just wondering about how much work it will be to redress the grinding wheel . It did a really nice job on the work piece from what I could see.
i feel like i'd have gone to the belt sander for the first 80% of this but idk shit about this stuff so im enjoyin the sparks :-)
Very neat.... That's some serious swiping on the S grinder. Thanks
Wow! That's a serious cut on the grinder!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Hi from Bedford Va. Thanks for Sharing.
Hey Brian in the Olde Shop....always great visiting with you, Paul in Orlando
Nice job Brian.
That Thomson grinder is Heavy Duty for sure..👍
Have a great day.
Happy Sunday Brian!⚙️🛠👍👍👍👍✌️
Nice job. Thanks for sharing.
Can’t argue with success!!
I was thinking you could have chopped off most of what you needed to remove using a cutoff wheel and then finished it up on the surface grinder.
We still miss Bailey, as I'm sure you do, too.

Great job Brian. You got er done!
That's one way to heat the shop!
Hey Brian. Making the grinder work!
Thanks for sharing
Another good job well done!
Man I need a bigger surface grinder, my little manual 6x12 just doesn't cut it for anything! Nice video, Brian, keep up the good work!
that's something i want when i move to the next shop, i miss having a surface grinder
Wonder why you didn't put it on a mill and take down with a cutter that way?
Lots of carbide inserts to beat up cutting hardened materials with a face mill. Grinders are better suited to the hard stuff I think.
Gotter done! 👍
Well done. Thanks for the video keep on keeping on.
good job brian

I have reclaimed some of the barn material but way more left to do

👍👍got it done man... looks good.. have a good week 👊
Grind it...OF COURSE...

Those were some heavy cuts on the surface grinder. I'M curious why no coolant?

@@bcbloc02 Understand we had that same here!
👍🏻
Wild man lol
Did he say that the Monarch was a 40hp?
The Big Monarch with the 4 jaw is 40hp.
Some time being cooth just won't get with it. BLESSINGS to yall!
More than one way to get er done eh
Spitting that yoke out of the chuck jaws could have gone SO much worse... did you play the lottery later that day? ; )
7K trans input?
Yep
Are you still heating your shop with a 30,000 BTU water heater?
The other shop still has the 4500w water heater. The grinder is still in the garage shop.
@@bcbloc02 Hi Brian. How is your in floor heating working out for you in the barn shop? Is the hot water heater able to keep up with no issues?
.050" a pass is scary looking.
How about a hand file?? 😂
Please dont set the workshop on fire. Not a good thing !!
CUT OFF WHEEL !
Certainly an option but hard to keep it straight
@@bcbloc02 I think i would have have gotten it close with the cut off wheel and then ground it.
