No surprise that Ms Marvel was the best part of the movie. I wasn't expecting much from her series but I actually really love the character and how much energy she brings to the MCU. If anything that makes this movie worth checking out for me

I absolutely adored this movie. I saw it with my best friend and we had a blast, and especially went crazy over the post-credit scenes! Very fun overall, like you said, and while there were some issues with it such as the jumbled storylines and reshoots that made the movie kind of a mess, the story played out quite nicely and got the point across with good pacing. It's not enough to make it a bad movie. It's not a game-changer for the MCU, but a very much welcomed addition to the roster, and I really loved it and I am really excited for the future of these characters. Sure, thw villain was relatively bland in comparison with other Marvel villains, she was not the worst. There have been much worse villains in the MCU who were much more boring. At least she had a motive behind her actions, and was a descendent of a previous villain (Ronan) That made her slightly more interesting in my opinion. She was menacing and showed no mercy, which was a nice tone shift for this movie. Overall, not the best MCU movie, but a very good one that I am sure many people enjoyed it as much as we did.

I'm a very busy man who doesn't want to have to watch anything to enjoy or have a movie make sense. Marvel used to understand this. There was a time when the humor of the series was fun but it begins to become grown worthy after 30 films and series. I love that you let your daughter give her opinion on the movie since, ultimately, adult men are not the target audience for The Marvels. And even if the movie is bad on a technical level, there are people like your daughter who will enjoy it, and that's completely a-okay

I'm gonna see it with no expectations because I'm tired of the whiny ass MSheU haters. Especially those who want this movie to suck and bomb at the box office just so they can taunt Marvel and more importantly, Brie Larson, like five year olds more than they already do. I found Kate Bishop to be annoying but most fans didn't when Hawkeye aired two years ago. What If...? is still quite mid and can be hit or miss with every episode. I'm not excited for their S2 next month. Their scenarios have no consequence and impact to the sacred timeline. It's like watching the Anthology of Interest I and II episodes from Futurama. Now Phase 5 only has 1 good movie as I'm hearing The Marvels is in the running for worst MCU film. Kristian Harloff who usually sounds like a shill went hard at it while Chris from Film Stocked did not and he didn't care for Blue Beetle. Perhaps level of expectations from each individual? I personally didn't care for GotG3 as much as others did and I absolutely HATED Quantumania as it made beating Kang look so easy losing from a bunch of giant ants! 🤣 I think I hate Quantumania more than The Dark World. It's like a bad Star Wars movie similar to Attack of the Clones and The Rise of Skywalker with ugly CGI. So from the 11 films after Endgame, how many rotten ones? Maybe 5? Deadpool 3 I don't care about ThunderBolts or the next Captain America film with Falcon. Fantastic Four has had two different iterations and it keeps on failing that Guardians succeeded bringing a family dynamic to MCU. Phase Four really isn't that bad but Phase Three still wins my top 10 favorite MCU projects... 1. Loki S1 & S2 (4 & 5) 2. Thor: Ragnarok (3) 3. Avengers: Infinity War (3) 4. Then again, Phase Four still has She-Hulk.. 🤦🏻♂️ Not sure once we get to Secret Wars, it will set it up correctly because viewers won't care about most of the characters. And bringing dead characters will only hurt Endgame. MCU wants to milk a dead character like Star Wars does with Anakin. Bringing back Tony is a Hail Mary play. MCU film #6, #9, #13, #17, #19, and #22 are my absolute favorites. Age of Ultron (#11) and No Way Home (#27) do have these glaring flaws that prevents them from being in my top 6. I'm mostly attracted to Avengers 1, 3, & 4, Cap 2 & 3, and Thor 3. Only the Avengers films holds importance. You can argue Phase Four did start off promising specifically in 2021. WandaVision, Loki, and No Way Home are all good to me. I enjoyed Black Widow and Shang-Chi. It's the 2022 stuff like Strange 2, Thor 4, Panther 2, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk that really brought it down. Eternals from Nov 2021 is in MCU's bottom 5. The only thing I can imagine being a huge reaction tease here would be Professor X recruiting Kamala. I don’t think they’d do that but idk what else would make a lot of people excited at this point. Seems like everyone is just piling on this movie unfortunately. I’m still excited to see this

While I don’t watch MCU projects anymore, I’m still hoping all of you who are going to see this one to enjoy it. For me, I’ll be watching The Holdovers tomorrow night, The Killer on Friday afternoon, and a 40th anniversary showing of Brian De Palma’s Scarface on Sunday afternoon.
I've seen the THAT post credit scene. Marvel hasn't been paying off their post credit scenes lately, so my excitement isn't as high as it would in the past, because I don't see where will they follow that story
With Deadpool coming and Secret Wars, I do think this one will come into play sooner rather than later. Of course SW being down the road. But we are surely seeing the Incursions and Multiverse Saga stuff finally coming together.

@@terrymcginnis01 I don’t think anyone criticizing a film is actively discrediting the effort studio crew or VFX and SFX artists or anyone else is putting in work into this film. They’re simply criticizing what they see, acknowledging and elaborating on the flaws of the movie itself, not the people behind it. Wakanda Forver imo is a 5/10. However, I greatly respect that the crew still made the film given all their bad hands and all they had to deal with. I think Wakanda Forever is a 5/10 for the movie itself, not for the people working on it 👍

But when you're talking about a movie that "people knew would fail in more than one way from the very beginning" and then saying that's its "hilarious" that it turns out as expected is disappointing to me as a film fan. It's like you're actively rooting against the film from the start while all these people are working on it. Acknowledging and elaborating on flaws after you've seen the film is helpful and I'm on the same page as you are regarding Wakanda Forever. But this film has been written off as a failure for years. I like to see films actually turn out to be good and succeed despite the negative rhetoric. When it turns out they aren't good, I personally wouldn't find it hilarious, I wouldn't be laughing about its failure and by extension, the failure of those involved in making the movie. I would shake my head, offer constructive criticism and maybe stop supporting a studio that doesn't seem interested in making good movies. But a film's failure (whether it's The Marvels, The Flash, Haunting in Venice, Indiana Jones etc) isn't funny to me.
I would take a prostate exam from Freddy Krueger with the glove on over watching this movie but it will be interesting to see how this movie does in theaters.

Dry acting, bad script with holes all over the place,, cats everywhere and I'm not even going to mention the song and dance number. If all that's not bad enough they make Captain Marvel a princess. Any time they have dialogue it looks like it was written by 5 years old , and directed by AI. Now when i think about it, most of a movie looks like it was directed by AI. This movie makes Flash movie look like Citizen Kane. Flash at least had few self aware jokes like leather mask not being able to move. Marvels can't even pull that out. And vilian... lol. If little girls like it, if older women like it (and anyone inbetween), than the product did what it was designed to do. You are describing flaws, that are not seen as flaws by the people who supposed to enjoy this. You should only evaluate any product based on what it is trying to do, and how well did it succed, and I don't think there will be many female fans coming out of the cinema unsatisfied. When people use entertainment (especially Marvel) as escapism, buying 100 mins of fun that puts a smile on your face for the whole time, should be acknowledged as a good product.
I saw this last night and thought it was a real mess. No character development, no emotion, nothing was really explained. It was just a collection of stuff. The cuts and reshoots are obvious. I'm actually surprised Marvel have put it out in this state. Very disappointing.
Ronan was a horrible villain in Guardians and he's not very compelling in the comics. I don't understand why they'd want to repeat such a bad character.

I won't show my wife this review, since she's excited to go to Marvels on Thanksgiving. We really liked the Kamala Khan show, & hoped that the movie would carry over that tone.

That’s like me jumping into the final Harry Potter movie without watching any others and then complaining I don’t understand who some of the characters are. Well duhhh??
That's not really a fair comparison though. If you're watching the final Harry Potter film you expect you needed to watch the previous Harry Potter films. You don't expect you need to watch 3 additional TV shows. This is the sequel to a billion dollar film....as well as 3 tv shows. Likewise, in previous phases they did a better job of telling stand alone stories which connected to a bigger universe. This is movie where 2/3rds of the main cast aren't properly introduced. A main character from the 1st CM is killed off in a totally different project and just covered in a couple lines of dialogue.
Star of the MCU? I think everyone has completely forgotten that these movie’s and the comics have an overwhelming male audience. Sure, plenty of women like it too, but can we get back to male centric hero’s. I love Rom-coms but the audience is women. I loved Barbie, but that was made for girls. Super Hero movies should be made for men primarily and there is nothing wrong with that.
Feel like you are totally disregarding the fact that there are plenty of women and girls who like and look up to this. No need to be sexist. And plus, maybe the movie just isn’t for you. Ever think of that? Women need more representation in media.

Kamala is the best part of the movie because she's the only RELATABLE character. She's human, has flaws, etc. That was the magic from most of the golden years of Marvel. Aside of Kamala and Peter Parker, NONE of the current characters have it.

Just finished watching this movie via CAM Version & The Marvels (2023) is easily the worst movie in the entire MCU.
I'm gonna see it with no expectations because I'm tired of the whiny ass MSheU haters. Especially those who want this movie to suck and bomb at the box office just so they can taunt Marvel and more importantly, Brie Larson, like five year olds more than they already do. I know how hypocritical I sound considering I wanted The Flash movie to bomb because I didn't want WB to keep that POS even after they reboot the DCEU. But that's the difference. Brie Larson hasn't done anything wrong. Her words were taken out of context and seems to have an awkward personality and I can understand how that can rub people the wrong way. I don't have the mental capacity to explain it further and would rather recommend watching the second part of CinemaWins' Captain Marvel video he gives the movie fair criticism while also examining why people hate her so much.
Honestly I hope it succeeds rather it’s good or not, just to stick to to the anti-work crowd that’s been surrounding Marvel for the past half-decade

Some didn't hate Multiverse of Madness like Sean Chandler didn't since he's a Sam Raimi fan. I personally don't hate Love and Thunder and Wakanda Forever as much as others.
Love and Thunder is one of those bad MCU films I've grown to enjoy. I love the entire Zeus scene. True, Bale was underused. Too much unnecessary humor. Didn't care for the kids scene at the end. But I don't hate it. I know everyone is hating on Taika Waititi lately but I look at Thor 4 as his mulligan. He still gave us Ragnarok and Jojo Rabbit, two of my top 30 favorite films ever.
If I saw Love and Thunder playing on TV, I would stop to watch it for some scenes like the entire thing with Zeus and his Zeusettes thirsty for Thor's 🐓. I thought Valkyrie was fun in it. But yeah, it's still a bad movie. I can't excuse it for being a bad movie.

Didn’t care for Hawkeye either. I found Kate Bishop to be annoying but most fans didn't when Hawkeye aired two years ago.
What If...? is still quite mid and can be hit or miss with every episode. I'm not excited for their S2 next month. Their scenarios have no consequence and impact to the sacred timeline. It's like watching the Anthology of Interest I and II episodes from Futurama.
Now Phase 5 only has 1 good movie as I'm hearing The Marvels is in the running for worst MCU film. Kristian Harloff who usually sounds like a shill went hard at it while Chris from Film Stocked did not and he didn't care for Blue Beetle. Perhaps level of expectations from each individual?
I personally didn't care for GotG3 as much as others did and I absolutely HATED Quantumania as it made beating Kang look so easy losing from a bunch of giant ants! 🤣 I think I hate Quantumania more than The Dark World. It's like a bad Star Wars movie similar to Attack of the Clones and The Rise of Skywalker with ugly CGI.
So from the 11 films after Endgame, how many rotten ones? Maybe 5? We're talking only films here...

Not sure once we get to Secret Wars, it will set it up correctly because viewers won't care about most of the characters. And bringing dead characters will only hurt Endgame. MCU wants to milk a dead character like Star Wars does with Anakin. Bringing back Tony is a Hail Mary play.
MCU film #6, #9, #13, #17, #19, and #22 are my absolute favorites. Age of Ultron (#11) and No Way Home (#27) do have these glaring flaws that prevents them from being in my top 6. I'm mostly attracted to Avengers 1, 3, & 4, Cap 2 & 3, and Thor 3. Only the Avengers films holds importance.
You can argue Phase Four did start off promising specifically in 2021. WandaVision, Loki, and No Way Home are all good to me. I enjoyed Black Widow and Shang-Chi. It's the 2022 stuff like Strange 2, Thor 4, Panther 2, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk that really brought it down. Eternals from Nov 2021 is in MCU's bottom 5.
I guess MCU Phase Five is now the worst one being worse than Phase Four because it has Quantumania, Secret Invasion, and The Marvels. That's 4 projects in 2023 so far and 3 of them are bad. Not sure Deadpool 3 is good enough to save it. Were people going crazy for Deadpool 2?
I'll stick to Scorsese and Tarantino films like The Wager and The Movie Critic which are their upcoming films. Zemeckis has Here with Tom Hanks and Robin Wright reunited after 30 years. They maintain a higher quality. When directors rip off Marty's style, he said he doesn't watch their films because he learns nothing new from it.
Most of the movies I want to see the rest of the year aren't coming from a franchise. They are not another sequel, prequel, remake, or reboot...

I've seen the THAT post credit scene. Marvel hasn't been paying off their post credit scenes lately, so my excitement isn't as high as it would in the past, because I don't see where will they follow that story
With Deadpool coming and Secret Wars, I do think this one will come into play sooner rather than later. Of course SW being down the road. But we are surely seeing the Incursions and Multiverse Saga stuff finally coming together.

They’re simply criticizing what they see, acknowledging and elaborating on the flaws of the movie itself, not the people behind it.
Wakanda Forver imo is a 5/10. However, I greatly respect that the crew still made the film given all their bad hands and all they had to deal with. I think Wakanda Forever is a 5/10 for the movie itself, not for the people working on it 👍

But when you're talking about a movie that "people knew would fail in more than one way from the very beginning" and then saying that's its "hilarious" that it turns out as expected is disappointing to me as a film fan. It's like you're actively rooting against the film from the start while all these people are working on it. Acknowledging and elaborating on flaws after you've seen the film is helpful and I'm on the same page as you are regarding Wakanda Forever. But this film has been written off as a failure for years. I like to see films actually turn out to be good and succeed despite the negative rhetoric. When it turns out they aren't good, I personally wouldn't find it hilarious, I wouldn't be laughing about its failure and by extension, the failure of those involved in making the movie. I would shake my head, offer constructive criticism and maybe stop supporting a studio that doesn't seem interested in making good movies. But a film's failure (whether it's The Marvels, The Flash, Haunting in Venice, Indiana Jones etc) isn't funny to me.

I enjoyed this movie a lot! I don’t feel like it’s a mess tone wise but I’m not really a stickler for those types of things.
I liked Captain Marvel more than most, i also really enjoyed Ms Marvel. I have been excited low key for this filk for quite a while, i am not expecting huge things but i am hoping my excitement is paid off!
As someone who faithfully followed the MCU since day 1 and saw every film in theaters the night prior to official release; I'm very disappointed in what Disney is doing. I saw the down spiral beginning with the first Captain Marvel.

saw a movie, i don't know what execlly what you laughed at, but only jokes were at expense of a movie. This movie is nowhere near as funny as you described. Any time they have dialogue it looks like it was written by 5 years old , and directed by AI. Now when i think about it, most of a movie looks like it was directed by AI.
This movie makes Flash movie look like Citizen Kane. Flash at least had few self aware jokes like leather mask not being able to move. Marvels can't even pull that out.

If little girls like it, if older women like it (and anyone inbetween), than the product did what it was designed to do. You are describing flaws, that are not seen as flaws by the people who supposed to enjoy this. You should only evaluate any product based on what it is trying to do, and how well did it succed, and I don't think there will be many female fans coming out of the cinema unsatisfied. When people use entertainment (especially Marvel) as escapism, buying 100 mins of fun that puts a smile on your face for the whole time, should be acknowledged as a good product.
I saw this last night and thought it was a real mess. No character development, no emotion, nothing was really explained. It was just a collection of stuff.

That’s like me jumping into the final Harry Potter movie without watching any others and then complaining I don’t understand who some of the characters are. Well duhhh??
That's not really a fair comparison though. If you're watching the final Harry Potter film you expect you needed to watch the previous Harry Potter films. You don't expect you need to watch 3 additional TV shows.
This is the sequel to a billion dollar film....as well as 3 tv shows.
Likewise, in previous phases they did a better job of telling stand alone stories which connected to a bigger universe.
This is movie where 2/3rds of the main cast aren't properly introduced. A main character from the 1st CM is killed off in a totally different project and just covered in a couple lines of dialogue.
Star of the MCU? I think everyone has completely forgotten that these movie’s and the comics have an overwhelming male audience. Sure, plenty of women like it too, but can we get back to male centric hero’s. I love Rom-coms but the audience is women. I loved Barbie, but that was made for girls. Super Hero movies should be made for men primarily and there is nothing wrong with that.
Feel like you are totally disregarding the fact that there are plenty of women and girls who like and look up to this. No need to be sexist. And plus, maybe the movie just isn’t for you. Ever think of that? Women need more representation in media.

Kamala is the best part of the movie because she's the only RELATABLE character. She's human, has flaws, etc. That was the magic from most of the golden years of Marvel. Aside of Kamala and Peter Parker, NONE of the current characters have it.

I thought the movie was good, but just good. Characters definitely hold up the story and runtime but, as expected, Iman Vellani is the best part. Someone get this woman more lead roles in Hollywood please.

I want to watch the movie just for Iman as Kamala cus I loved her in Ms Marvel and seems to bring the same energy. I don't expect much from the rest of the movie tho
