    Of the ones I saw:
4- Rebel Ridge. Wasn't my favorite. A very strange slow burn that doesn't have a satisfying payoff to me. 6/10
3 - Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Just a fun legacy sequel. It may have too many things going on, but it's still enjoyable to watch. 7/10
2 - Transformers One. As someone who's only seen Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts from the Transformers franchise, this was a great movie that has a fantastic ending. 8/10
1 - The Wild Robot. A WOW movie for me, that is charming, emotional, and beautiful. Love this from beginning to end. 8.5/10

I honestly found Rebel Ridge very underwhelming. It's good but nowhere near as good as Blue Ruin or Green Room in my opinion. I'd have The Substance at #1

    1. The Substance - 2nd favorite movie of the year for me
    2. Rebel Ridge - Aaron Pierre is awesome. One of the best first acts of the year
    3. Speak No Evil - Solid flick with McAvoy chewing up the scenery
    4. Apartment 7A - worse version of The First Omen. Decent enough
    5. BeetleJuice 2 - Not a fan of Tim Burton and his style. Saw this twice unfortunately, but at least my dad liked it
    6. Megalopolis - biggest disappointment of the year so far. Had such high expectations for it, but at least some of the visuals are cool and I love Adam Driver.
    7. The Front Room - Nasty horror movie with a lot of weirdly placed humor and bodily fluids.
I’ll be checking out The Wild Robot and Transformers One next month

12:Uglies: an abysmal Netflix original that is boring
11: Megalopolis: a dull boring pretentious movie
10: Subservience: a weird movie with surprising tonal issues
9: Am i racist: an interesting documentary
8: Never let go: a good enough thriller with great performances
7: The killers game: a generic fun highly stylized film
6: Wolfs: a fun enough action comedy with great acting but not enough jon watts style
5: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: a really fun continuation to this franchise and I actually prefer it to the original
4: rebel ridge a great action thriller with a fantastic aaron pierre performance
3: Cloud: i think this came out in Japan this month I saw it at the Venice film festival it is a great action thriller
2: The wild robot: a beautifully animated movie with great messaging and some good dark humor
1: transformers one: a movie that just hit for me it has great action animation voice acting and I was compelled by the friendship falling apart its my favorite animated movie of the year
I saw quite a few movies in the theater this month and will potentially see more next month

    My ranking
    1. The Wild Robot. I thought this movie was incredible with fantastic performances from Lupita Nyong’o and Pedro Pascal. Not only the best animated movie of the year but one of the best movies of the year
    2. Speak no Evil. I really loved just how uncomfortable and funny this movie was. James was great as always.
    3. Wolfs. This movie was a lot of fun. Both Brad and George are just great.
    4. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. This movie was fun but it has too many subplots and I didn’t find any of the characters as compelling as Gena Davis and Alec Baldwin from the first movie.
    5. Rebel Ridge. I didn’t get the hype with this movie. Performances were good, but I thought the story was boring.
I might end up watching Wolfs tonight and if I do, I’ll edit this list. I was going to watch it earlier, but my mom wanted to watch it with me so I’m waiting for her to be able to watch it with me. Hopefully I can watch it tonight so I can add to this list.

September 2024 Movies I Saw Ranked:
    1. Transformers One
    - Biggest surprise of the year for me so far!
Never been a big Transformers fan, but the animation, mature tone, and amazing origin story worked so well for me! Also the song that Quavo sung at the end was FREAKING AWESOME!
    2. The Wild Robot
    - Amazing art style mixed with an emotional and heartfelt story and fun characters!
    3. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
    - A solid sequel with some fun Burton humor and effects. Wished the new characters were more used though.
    4. The Killer’s Game
    - I just love these kinds of fun action films that require not deep plot, just bloody kills and cheesy lines!
    5. Speak No Evil
    - An alright thriller with a great atmosphere, but VERY ANNOYING CHARACTERS!
    6. Wolfs
    - Just a really great time with two of the greatest actors of my generation!
    7. Rebel Ridge
    - Decent Netflix film, but just like everything above it better!
    8. His Three Daughters
    - Same reasoning as the previous entry.
    9. Subservience
    - Did what it was supposed to do; be freaking disturbing!
    10. Rez Ball
    - Kinda boring, but a great message and a super fun finale!
    11. Megalopolis
    - I appreciate what Coppola was trying to do, but it ended up being an absolute mess!
    12. Amber Alert
    - Generic straight to video thriller, but definitely enjoyable!
    13. Uglies
    - Very bad Netflix film, but the idea was at least somewhat interesting!
    14. Never Let Go
    - Horrible storytelling and a horrible first half!

I thought that September was a pretty solid month for movies. Here is my ranking of the 5 movies I saw last month:
    1. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (legitimately shocked at how high I was on this one. Any other movie like this would be overstuffed but IMO “overstuffed” works in the Beetlejuice world.
    2. Transformers One (Best animated movie I’ve seen this year by far. Will check out The Wild Robot this week)
    3. The Substance (Up until the last 10-15 minutes or so, this was in my top 5 movies of the year. Amazing performances, really didn’t like where they took the story)
    4. Speak No Evil (James McAvoy masterclass)
    5. Never Let Go (honestly a very underrated movie that I would still consider to be good despite its ranking. Surprisingly kept me guessing the whole time)

    Worst to best:
Mountainfilm Adventure Shorts: I enjoy sports movies, but this was not one of them. It was instead a series of documentaries about the outdoors strung together.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: I just recently watched the original so I could see this, and I didn’t like it that much. This was slightly better with a more urgent plot but it still didn’t amaze me.
Speak No Evil: James McCoy delivers another amazing performance as a horror villain, but it is weighed down by some of the dumbest decisions in horror movies I have seen in a while.
Transformers One: This movie was so layered and entertaining for a children’s movie.
The Wild Robot: I saw this last night and it was so emotional and touching. Also I thought it was beautifully animated.
My Old Ass: This movie was so much funnier and better than I could have ever imagined. It nearly brought me to tears, and I am debating if this is my first or second favorite of 2024.

Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story was just incredible. An emotional tribute to a man who absolutely deserves all the praise, I teared up multiple times and loved it so much. I absolutely recommend the documentary once it hits its theatrical run October 11th, I’m so happy it’s succeeding. I also want to go see The Wild Robot after seeing your review, when I have the time I absolutely will.
    SPOILERS
When Glen Close said that Robin may still be alive if Reeve was still here, I lost it.

@@aidanlastname0187 that's my movie of the month. You are clearly the audience that the movie was making fun of so ur not gonna like it but this movie was the hardest I've ever laughed at in theatres. Also, it perfectly addresses the idiocracy of the left by letting them talk in their own insane circles. Everyone needs to see this movie.

    I saw 4 new movies
    1. A Different Man - funny and well acted, best performance by Sebastian Stan so far
    2. Alien: Romulus (only counting it since I saw it this month)
    3. The Life of Chuck - TIFF (too sentimental for my liking but it was a somewhat interesting story)
    4. Unstoppable 2024 - TIFF
still need to see megalopolis, rebel ridge, the substance
