    I haven't seen Aftersun (yet) but as soon as Seth said this movie was low on dialogue, thus much of the acting is nonverbal, I knew that Paul Mescal was *perfectly* cast for his role. If you've seen Normal People, you know what I mean.

Hurling is a fast-paced Irish stick sport played on a field. Curling is played on ice where players slide stones. Hurling is played between two teams, with 15 players either side, in two 35 minute halves. The objective of the game is to progress the ball up the field to score one of two ways through an H-shaped goal post: in the net for 1 goal (worth 3 points) or through the upright posts for 1 point. Hurling is considered to be the fastest field sport in the world with the ball reaching speeds up to 181.1 kph (112.5 mph)!

    Correction: Gaelic football is not technically rugby just like American football is not technically rugby. Okay, less a correvtion than a clarification. Gaelic football was codified in the 1880s, and is native to Ireland. Soccer and rugby were codified a few decades earlier (1860s?) and are native to England. Gaelic Park in New York hosts Gaelic football and other native Irish games like hurling.

    • @Hidden-Kard
      @Hidden-Kard 2 года назад

      One as a historian this is a good general overview of the history of football. Two i do feel like this was unnecessary as he is not saying that Gaelic football came after rugby. He is just saying it is similar (pick up ball and get points) it's a general comparison and general comparisons are never to be taken as 100% truth
